**What do you like best about Lavu?**

The software is good; however, they seem to try to raise your fees all the time, even after you’ve already paid in advance for the year.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

They’re constantly trying to sell you stuff, and even if you opt out, they still charge you because their terms and conditions say they can. It feels very dishonest.

**What problems is Lavu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They’ve created a huge problem for us by raising their rates arbitrarily. After we spent thousands on hardware, gift cards, and training, we’re now going to have to switch to another POS.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

As an independent agent in the payments space, the LAVU team has help me bring on new restaurant accounts by offering a real-time product demo's with detailed explanations of every aspect of their systems, set up and training of the hardware and software and ongoing support for my clients.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

I have partnered with many POS and payment providers in the past and I can honestly say that LAVU has come out as my first choice. Nothing to dislike.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

Whenever I had any concern that I needed a quick answer on, I was always met with a great attitude regardless of how complex the queestion was!

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

There isn't much to not like about the software or the hardware. It is an internet based software suite, and the only thing I could think of, is the updates to any menu items must be done on a computer or from the backend.

**What problems is Lavu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling employees; tracking earnings using the QuickBooks Sync features.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

We're a small restaurant operating outside the US, and Lavu is a great option for us. Easy to use, with lots of customer support in setting up and deploying the system in multiple langauges!

We had been using a regional POS system for years, and struggling not only with features, but also with reports, analytics, and their customer support. Lavu has stepped in to improve, full the gaps, and take the lead for us in terms of setup and deployment. 

Lavu's price point was better for us, especially since the payment processing functions are not available in our country -- the other companies didn't offer any price adjustment for this. Also, Lavu is made for restaurants specifically, and offers integrated inventory management as well as add-on accounting integration. As a package Lavu is the best for us.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

So far, we have no complaints and are really satisfied with the system and the support -- especially since both sales and tech support have been very responsive and available.

**What problems is Lavu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous POS system was buggy, and we couldn't rely on it -- even sometimes to do correct math calculations! Lavu does better at the math, but also at making sure our needs are being met.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

Lavu works on ios devices so you dont' have to buy a lot of specialized equipment.  It is fairly simple to operate and the menu setup is intuitive.  The employee facing app is decent, especially compared to some other POS systems.  When I signed up you could use an independent credit card processor, but I think they've changed that to where now you have to use lavu as a credit card processor.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

My main complaint is about customer service and billing and lack of updates.  We moved to a different system and attempted to cancel through customer service,  Finally they gave us directions and, even though we were no longer using the system, we passed our one year contract so they charged us for a year even as we were actively attempting to cancel.  Multiple attempts to email and call customer service went unanswered or "redirected" to a voicemail.  It feels dishonest and left a bad taste in my mouth - I definitely won't recommend them based on this experience.

We no longer use Lavu.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

Lavu is a robust POS software that keeps me informed about my business performance.  I have many likes but my favorite is working through technical questions with Sohaib Ranani.  He is knowledgeable, patient with me (I am not a tech expert), and determined to find solutions to issues no matter the time of day.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

Although I am not a tech expert, I am very familiar with Lavu after using for 5 years so I find that when I have an issue I cannot figure out, I need a higher-level support team member like Sohaib (Shane) to assist me.  I understand that the Help Desk is for answering basic questions and now I just consult direct points of contact if I get stuck.  The company structure makes sense; I just don't find working with the Help Desk very satisfying.  A lot of sending me articles or reading scripts.  

I also have issues with credit card transaction processing but that could be my internet provider.  We also occasionally have an issue with connectivity although that issue is much reduced.  I do wish that we could continue using the POS system when Lavu system is down such that cc transactions could be collected and then processed when the system comes back up as well as it would be nice if we could send tickets to the kitchen if down.

**What problems is Lavu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lavu allows me to manage remotely.  I can check my business performance from my mobile device.  I love this feature.  The reporting is great, we track employee time, and the menu module is simple enough that I can manage my own menu.  This helps with quick changes.

When I reach customer service representatives as good as Shayla! That she was extremely helpful and willing to make sure all printers work working. I do not like speaking with people I cannot understand, or that cannot understand me. Shayla really went the extra mile!

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

Reaching a representative that is not knowledgeable in your products, like the printers that you sell internally. Hire more english speaking representatives. Hire more english speaking representatives.There needs to be a waste button added.

Something that has helped is following sales and trends. reviewing year over year. Yes, we are able to easily locate our sales.Yes, we are able to see what is selling and when.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

The Lavu POS system is very intuitive and easy to use - even for the basic users. Ordering has never been easier whether you're picking up your food, getting it delivered or dining in. The experience so far has been nothing short of amazing with support for reports, user rights, discounts and even some nice extras like comments and action logs.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

1. I have been a user for more than 8 years and so far they have not improved their inventory management section. 
2. It would be nice if there was some documentation regarding API's, I know nothing about APIs's so the present guide is insufficient to integrate Lavu with your app even though they have a bunch of apps ready to integrate like Quickbooks, Xero, Menu Drive.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

The best part of Lavu is that it is handling the growth of our winery. The reports are awesome! Not only is it handling the growth but it is also implementing new technology so that we can remain flexible in our customer payment options. It is where technology meets efficiency to realize a more effective operations team that creates organically a better profit margin.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

There isn't much about Lavu that I dislike. I have no issues from the back-end reporting. From the inception of the transaction to end-day reporting, it is a workhorse.

**Recommendations to others considering Lavu:**

Talk to the Lavu team and let them know the expectations of the software. A number of times I didn't think to ask about certain aspects of our business like our gift shop to see if Lavu could handle the transactions for that as well as the service side. I found out that it can handle it too.

**What problems is Lavu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More recently we have had payment issues regarding credit cards. We also want to continue to be PCI compliant. These issues can be serious. The Lavu team were quick to help us with these issues and lay to rest any worries that we had regarding the system.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

Lavu is a great user-friendly system that allows ease of use for both front and back-end users. Easy to set up, reps and customer service are always responsive. Great!

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

MenuDrive is a little complicated and clunky but still, a great tool and the representatives are always there to make quick changes and help along the way.

**Recommendations to others considering Lavu:**

Don't get sucked into other companies offering all kinds of bells and whistles that sound great, chances are you won't need them or use them and they are much harder than they make it sound. Pay for just what you need and not the things you don't. Lavu is quick, easy and has all the essentials right out the gate even if you are doing it quick and in a hurry. Had my system up and running 2 days after making contact. Look no further.

Easy to train new employees and staff, and easy to get my second and third locations set up without a long onboarding process. Flexible back end setup to do what is needed to get the job done.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

FOH interface is easy to use. There are limitations with every app - for example, the size of the screen. You have to deal with a small iPad screen, and I think you do very well with that. Or with splitting items/checks. Something is always going to be sacrificed. But I never have a problem while splitting checks - you just have to work around your system. BOH system is easy to use and update on the fly.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

· When some feature of Lavu goes down, customer support is very guarded and secretive. They won't just admit there is a problem and say 'this is when we expect to be back online' or 'this is the problem, we're not sure when we'll be back online.' Although I've been on hiatus for a few months, so you may have solved this problem.
· Is there a reason servers can't + an item after it's been saved/sent? I'm talking about items that don't go to a kitchen printer.
· I wish there was a way to run a cashout after the batch, but before the server has clocked in again.
·I would like it to be easier to look up server sales or individual item sales for previous days. Such as, there was a discount on item A two days ago; who discounted it and who was the server. But again, I realize there must be limitations to this.
·Is there a way to discount a whole ticket without the sales tax still showing up?
· Also I'm trying upload the screenshot they asked for on this survey to confirm that I'm a user, and it won't accept any pictures at all.

The Ux is simple and easy to teach and understand, the ability to go to the back end to add or edit food items and inmediatly see the changes on the app is wonderful.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

Not all the features work in my country (Mexico) as the PayPal function; the inventory management lacks functionality and its difficult to use the "back end" website on an iPad.

it is a great POS for any small/medium restaurant, pair with the kitchen display system and your service runs smootly

TIME!!, The ability to take and order on the table and send it directly to the kitchen on the spot saves time and makes the service runs smoothly; and allowed us to see how the products behave  on the front end with their complete reports.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

One of the advantages of this software is that we can use it even offline, to view inventory management, employee management, discount management and other available tools. The promotion and discount management has very effective suggestions and is very easy to activate and implement. It has real-time sales and order reports and metrics to monitor daily sales at all times.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

The system has presented us with failures at the time of debiting payments, the card does not seem to pass and you have to verify by the movements, if the payment was canceled or not. The software is quite easy to use, but in the end it contains many options that could overwhelm and make navigation a little clumsy. When we had problems with the credit card, we submitted a report to technical support and never got a response, we had to get outside help for the solution.

**Recommendations to others considering Lavu:**

I can recommend this software without hesitation, as there are many advantages and benefits. Our billing and collection system is organized, sales have increased and the employees are satisfied with the use of the program, as it is intuitive and easy to use. It is one of the most complete payment softwares, since it allows us to keep all the organization of the activities, as well as the invoicing and payments by different means. We can notice how sales grow daily, because of the management and tools that the program has, also improving the performance and productivity of employees, being able to closely monitor their daily activities.

**What problems is Lavu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is a very easy to use and intuitive software with functionalities that go beyond the payment by point of sale (pos), but has tools such as online payments, inventory management, billing, customer database and easy access to mobile devices such as iPad and iPhone. It allows billing and collection by various payment methods such as point of sale, online payments, mobile payments and more. It has very good reports that allow you to see daily sales in real time, as they are uploaded to the system, being able to closely monitor the daily sales of the company. It has electronic signature for the convenience of our customers. It also has mobile access being compatible with iPad and iPhone.

The menu structure works well with our extensive selection.  It is relatively user friendly and has an administrative creation website that works well.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

Concern about costs/price.  We don't want to have to change our point of sales systems to another platform but if prices rise, then we may have to.  Communication of any pricing changes needs to be timely.

User interface always needs to be improved.  We don't have time to search for buttons if we can keep things simple.

Lavu is a cloud-based POS and so data and reports are delivered in real time.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

The support is outsourced and not very good.  Reports are inaccurate for companies with multiple locations.  This is a bug that was reported years ago and never fixed. The gift card integration is buggy.  One of the most disappointing aspects is the offline mode which is non-existent although it is an advertised feature.

**What problems is Lavu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unfortunately, we had to switch to a different company.  We were getting too big with too many stores to deal with the inadequacies of Lavu.  It was worth using Lavu while we did because it solved many issues.  However, we found that there are better choices.

ease of use, I can log in anytime from home or at work and check on sales, make changes to the menu, time sheets.  It's very user friendly and updates immediately

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

don't have anything bad to say, have been using LAVU pos for 10 years and very happy with it.  If I have any issues I call them and get a response right away.

sometimes the internet connection goes down, support helps resolve this issue and we can still use offline until fixed then all orders get updated. It's awesome!

To have access to special reports and to  be able to organize the POS with my products

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

I can not move or organize the category Windows as I desire. If I erase an item from the menu, it won´t erase in Marketman or vice versa.

Better organization in my restaurant from sending orders to the kitchen to getting really specific reports.

It's extremely easy to work with on the Ipad.

I really don't have anything other than getting more training videos on how to use certain functions for free if possible.

It's compatible with wifi and the reports are easy to print and keep track of. Our accounting department is happy about that part.

I like that Lavu allows many different options that personalize settings to fit our business needs. Also, the online customer service chat is highly responsive!

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

I would not say there are major downsides to Lavu as a program. The one problem we have encountered is there are supply shortages at times.

The customer service representatives through the backend panel are exceptional! I have not come across a problem that we could not solve.

That we have moved on to another system.

For some reason, our Lavu system was dropping about 2 to 5% of our transactions. The issue was not traceable to us except by noting the discrepancy in our bank account deposits versus the Lavu reports. In repeated calls, Lavu was unable to determine the problem. After losing over $35k, a representative of Lavu showed us how to "recapture" a small number of those transactions, but the other revenue was lost. Lavu had no explanation for how the problem occurred. Lavu was unresponsive as to our request that it cover any part of our loss. When we finally corresponded through a lawyer, they hired a couple of lawyers from Park Avenue who basically told us to pound sand.

We moved on from Lavu because the system caused us to lose a lot of revenue and Lavu had no solution for us.

Being an iPad based system it theoretically offer mobility and flexibility

The system being cloud based has no functioning offline mode and when your connection is down or their servers crash (which happens often), you are out of luck. No credit card processing, no orders sent to the kitchen.

**Recommendations to others considering Lavu:**

I purchased a complete system from LAVU this past April with the intent to upgrade my existing POS from CAKE which served me well the first 4 years of running my restaurant, but being somewhat of a basic system I started feeling like it was holding me back. LAVU was running a 50% off on hardware so I called and spoke to a salesperson. Let me tell you, I wish I had recorded the conversations, as there was very little in common between what was verbally promised and what was actually delivered, VERY LITTLE! Typical sales tactics, they put extreme pressure on you to sign up (do it in the next 6 hours or the promotion expires), give you practically no time to read the fine print, and all of a sudden you find yourself in a 3 years contract with ridicules early termination penalties and a service provider that is incapable of delivering half of what was promised. They count on you not having the time or resources to take them to court. We are now almost at the end of September, just this past week they delivered the last remaining hardware piece originally promised, 5 months later! Thank god I kept my CAKE system going or I would have gone out of business.

They have horrible customer support, the most common answer you can expect is "we'll deal with this issue via a future software upgrade"

I really like the control I have over the POS user interface.  Lavu will have a team build it for you, but I like that I was able to do it all myself!  It has the ability to setup pictures even for your menu items.  It can be as fancy as you'd like, or as simple.  It works anyway you want it.  We used this sytem in a non traditional way while waiting fo have the funding to purchase the register, and it blew our minds how amazinly it worked even for that!

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

I do not like navigating around the internet interface.  To me, the layout isn't very user-friendly and is confusing.  I wasn't given an intro to the program like most, so it may have been explained in that, I just don't know.  The layout just doesn't seem logical at all.  I'm sure it will improve over time.

**Recommendations to others considering Lavu:**

If you're looking for good option at less the expense, this works wonderful!  I done research for months before going to Lavu and we're sure glad we did.  Our speed of service has increased more than double of that which we had before the system!

We have virtually eliminated miscommunication within the staff using the POS to print to a kitchen printer.  Now if there are errors, it is due to the lack of reading the entire line item on the print out.  The system cannot fix human error, but it surely eliminates a lot of that even!

Customer support, by far. Questions are quickly answered, and every interaction with CSR's, sales and training departments have been professional and any questions thoroughly answered.  

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

The POS software itself needs tweaks to be more quick-service friendly. Example: it's hard-wired that you need a customer's phone number, first and last name in order to start an order. Also, once you search for a customer by phone #, if they aren't in the database, it doesn't automatically re-populate the phone # into the new customer record, requiring that you re-enter it. So, creating customer records is a slow process, and not really practical when handling any kind of volume.

The reports are wonderful. Automatic reconciling is great, and being able to review sales by category, etc is exciting and definitely helps us plan marketing strategy and more efficient inventory purchases.

Hand held ordering is great. Learning for servers is very simple. 
Very easy to view sales from back end app on my phone, computer or tablet.
Love the KDS. I wish it was a touch screen but you learn to live with it.

The back end isn't very user friendly for reports. Phone service is bad.
Too many errors in the reports when downloading.

Weird glitches lately. All of a sudden things that were working fine, will stop working. For example running gift cards stopped working (Selling and charging) at one of our locations. Also we did a price increase and each location had a weird glitch in parts of the system that had worked fine before, which was weird since the only changes were to the menu on the features. 
Also missing easy simple things like totaling inventory. Why hav the ability to update pricing and counts if it doesn't total it.

everyone is NOT on the same page and different people give different answers. I called in and was told that Lavu gift does not work with EMV terminals, then when  I spoke with a manager they said it works with Dejavoo devices not PAX. However I have called in previously and had Lavu Gift set up on a PAX device.

We are solving the ability to use an EMV device to accept Lavu Gift credit cards. This has been very beneficial as we have had merchants that switch to our processing and to EMV so that they can accept gift cards too. People dont want a million devices to accept different payments. We have made it so they can accept all cards through their EMV terminal.

The platform seems to be a very useful product. Cloud Based. Good Up Time. Pretty Customizable on the fly, Has Useful Reports & Tracking in the back office.

Can only use with Apple IPad, Onboarding training much too insufficient especially at management level which causes far too long a learning curve for implementation. Requires extensive...weeks...of trying to self-learn management level through their online video and articles as well as extensive trial and error...not good for high volume businesses. Communication disconnect between the sales and support departments regarding the our business model and specific needs caused a 30 to 45 minute waste of onboarding training time. Sales department made promises that the support department didn't meet. System REQUIRES a printer even though we made it clear from the first sales conversation that we are a paperless operation. Claim to have 24/7/365 Technical Support however 3 times out of 5 we were unable to get support when we needed.

I like that Lavu allows customization when it comes to designing buttons and menus. The navigation on the interface and the as well as the back end is straight forward and easy to use. It also organizes sales information into graphs, which is a nice visual.

The system is slow to print receipts, and also slow when loading new menu items when the settings need to be reloaded. It sometimes crashes, and also the way that checks are split is not intuitive.

I used Lavu as a restaurant point of sale system. Benefits are that it allows you flexibility when dealing with an ever-changing menu, updating 86 counts and easily allowing for adding/deleting items.

I like that I can do a wide variety of reports to include all my locations or just one, I like that I can add on programs for more specific tracking. I like that I can export to excel for easier translations. I like that I can update menu items to fit the seasons or locations. Lavu is user friendly, has training guides and training videos to walk you through setting things up as well where to find certain buttons. I have had better luck when I call in for support and they tend to have a solution and always offer a discount on products or on screen training for managers. They email you the conversation for future use when you need help again. You can find the invoices on the front page for ease as well. Overall, I think lavu is a good program for a wide variety of users

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

I don't like the chat box for customer support. i never actually get specific answers after spending a lot of time with them, they always revert back to me calling in.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

I like how easy it is to view sales snapshots, timekeeping reports, and view itemized sales, voids, and comps. 

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

There is nothing in particular that I dislike.  I do wish that the software could be created into a mobile app so I can access functions from my mobile device. 

**What problems is Lavu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pos system, financial transactions, timekeeping

Good product on the back-end with clear visuals.

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

Poor customer service--don't seem to take customers seriously.

POS, inventory, sales tracking, etc.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

Full customization yet easy to use and learn. Also - Great customer service!

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

The balancing till at night with square credit card  integration option that we have is a bit difficult to navigate especially at first  

**What problems is Lavu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many. We are a tap house firstly and this integrates with our beer menu software. We also love the ease of reports and real time data retrieval.

**What do you like best about Lavu?**

Like ability to edit, improve and appreciate fact that we have used for 5 years and they keep improving things

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

seems to take a long time to make some improvements. 

**Recommendations to others considering Lavu:**

make sure you get set up properly up front and that it does what you want to do.   We still end up using lots of excel spreadsheets driven from lavu. 

**What problems is Lavu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use as POS system and would like easier ways to improve reporting. 
We split tips on one side and have tip outs on other side,  reporting is challenging sometimes.

Lavu makes it very easy to track sales or employee hours by any date range with only a few clicks of the mouse.  

**What do you dislike about Lavu?**

There is nothing in particular that i dislike about lavu.

Timekeeping and sales, transaction processing.
