## LEAP Reviews
  ### 1. Outdated Tech, Poor Integration—Clio Plus WealthCounsel is a Winning Combination

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William O. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2025

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Aside from the friendly customer service folks - who most often just send you to a FAQ, there's nothing I like about this product.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

Leap is an abomination. In a world of fast-moving technology, Leap takes you decades backwords.

From a technology side it isn't in the cloud. It requires you to have a Microsoft business account and then they install the program, with all its "features" on a PC or laptop. The web app has less functionality making it possible to do some things but not everything if you're on the go and away from your primary PC (if you're using a PC). So, if you fall for their pitch and go the route of Leap, get it installed on a laptop if you intend to be mobile.

We got sold on the idea that it integrates with its sister company WealthCounsel. The cost of Leap and WealthCounsel combined was "cheaper". Of course, they didn't explain that Leap is clearly cash strapped and finances its future contracts with a third party. That means you sign a repayment agreement with the 3rd party and they get a chunk of money to feed their archaic tech development.

Turning to the use of WealthCounsel, it is not seamless. The integration between the two companies and their architecture requires you to fill in all required information in the Leap system. If you don't, fields in WealthCounsel remain unanswered. You then have exit out of WealthCounsel and go into Leap. Add the missing information. Go back to WealthCounsel, hoping the data there is now accurate. And, it's a back and forth until you get everything you need in place with the hope of putting together documents that you could've done in half the time using WealthCounsel itself.

Compound this with the fact that the initial installation process was a nightmare (because we're a small firm and don't have an IT person, and believed the salesperson who said - it's easy) and the opinion that this product is a bomb from beginning to end is intensified. We met the the salesperson. Told them we don't have time to endure a long process and dedicate time to a transition. Initially discussed transferring information from Clio to Leap. Backed away from that idea when we started getting introduced to the implementation process. Were threatened by Leap's representatives when "we were delaying" the installation process (and, yes, that means they were talking legal action, etc.). Got them to simply install the product so we could get on with use of WealthCounsel without the transition of any data from Clio. And, now, we're a small firm that still uses Clio - a far superior product, and Leap just to access WealthCounsel in a horrible manner.

If anyone is thinking about using Leap, don't. Clio is the better product. WealthCounsel is a great product. You don't need Leap in your practice, especially if you're a small firm or solo practitioner.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. Our decision to go with Leap causes nothing but headaches.

  ### 2. Made the switch from PCLaw to LEAP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2025

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

I like that we can email invoices to clients easily. Correcting invoices is a breeze compared to PCLaw, which saves time. Reports can be very detailed, which is great. I like that everyone has the same version as me. In PCLaw, I was admin and I was the only one that could close files and do certain tasks. The BEST thing about LEAP is really the staff. Not only are they well trained, they care about their clients. Our current Client Success Manager is Jeffrey Schultz. He is newly assigned to us but has been great. Always makes himself available as more complicated things come up that I need assistance with. Our reps before him were Kristen (I can't think of her last name - she helped with the transition from PCLaw to LEAP and was instrumental in where I am today with the program) and Lynette Reynolds (Lynette is also a rock star).

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

Conflict checks are subpar compared to PCLaw, special fees - can't select more than one at a time (each are individually selected), late fee invoices are poorly designed. New update is not an upgrade - extra clicks to get to the accounting tabs instead of just on the home tab screen of a matter. Having to use LEAP and a secondary program (QBO) was a major struggle initially. I am used to it now but I didn't have that whole picture when we started the transition (sales person wasn't clear about this part). The other difficult part of using LEAP for me was there are like 4 different ways of doing things. I understand we have to pick what is best for us and we have done that - but it was difficult when we made the switch initially. Seems easier if there was just one way of getting the answer / information you need.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Invoicing clients.

  ### 3. LEAP software for a mediation practice

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shari C. | Mediator/Attorney, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2025

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

The online tutorials and videos plus the assistance of an in-person representative to help me navigate the system and problem solve. In the future I plan to use the Secure Connect feature to share docments with my clients.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

The software is designed for a traditional legal practice. I primarily handle private mediations. I have found the software set-up, e.g. creating cards, etc., to be less than user frienddly for my practice; however, I most appreciate the outreach by one of LEAP's agents.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Combining a billing system with efficient case management. I am still learning how to effectively use the syterm.

  ### 4. Excellent product, superior customer support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2025

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

LEAP has made keeping track of matters, client information, and administrative details second nature. And the LEAP customer support, whether through Community, chat, or our wonderful CSM is unequaled in any industry.
The AI Bootcamp sessions have been very helpful, and I take advantage of them repeatedly. Each time I participate I become more comfortable with implementing AI.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

Some recent changes are less convenient than in their previous versions. Also, the video presentation while logging on is annoyingly long.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Matter record-keeping tasks and invoicing (although that's not always so intuitive) are very streamlined.

  ### 5. The time & billing features are excellent and the document management feature is excellent.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony D. | Attorney, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2025

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Document management and connections to other software like Word, Outlook, Adobe.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

I cannot bill multiple matters for one client on the same bill.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leap allows me as a sole practitioner to compete with bigger firms with speed and efficiency.

  ### 6. It is very comprehensive and easy to use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2023

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

It is very comprehensive and easy to use. LEAP is like one tool that has it all to keep your business running – from keeping all communications intact, saved, and backed up, to sending invoices, recording payments, and even preparing special payment arrangements to clients when integrated with RapidPay or the like. The user interface is just fine with me, too. Amazing overall.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

Sometimes just stability issues that actually just get resolved on time since their support team is also very responsive and they implement effective software updates.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main thing it solves for me is that it keeps a number of contract templates that I could just auto-fill with prospect/client details in a few minutes. Works wonders and it saves me so much time from having to manually draft everything.

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Thank you for your review of the LEAP. It’s great to hear that your firm has benefited from the LEAP legal practice productivity solution. LEAP is designed to provide law firms with extensive legal practice productivity features for improved efficiency, profitability, and client satisfaction. Our customer service team prides themselves on world-class assistance and is committed to helping law firms save time and make more money.

  ### 7. Technical Support was great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maribeth J. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2023

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

I like that LEAP allows our practice to manage our client's manners and track progress throughout. I also like the range of support.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

On occasion some processes aren't intuitive and then I need a tech call. My call will Alex today was a great thing though. I learned critical information that changed how I understood the process.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LEAP allows us to keep all the pertinent information and data on our clients and our client's matters. It also has been a game changer in the sharing secure documents.

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Hi Maribeth, thank you for taking the time to review LEAP. We are glad to hear that the LEAP legal practice productivity solution has improved organization and efficiency for your firm and glad that our support staff, Alex, has been of particular help. As you continue to expand your knowledge of the software, we recommend using the LEAP User Portal to access training, learning, and support resources like LEAP University, Help Center, HelpDesk, and your dedicated Practice Management Advisor. You can access the User Portal here: https://bit.ly/3FkiMNV. Again, we appreciate your feedback and continued partnership!

  ### 8. A bit tricky at first, but definitely worth the "leap' in the end

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David T. | Founding Partner/Attorney, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2022

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

While the billing system takes some time to get used to, it allows for split billing and separation of retainers which is extremely beneficial for mediation and other matters with shared clients. Similarly, once you understand how to navigate the Case Information Statement program, it is easy to use. However, the best aspect of the software and the company as a whole is the support you receive. While they probably do not want to be in the spotlight, Aneta K and Krishna D (and others from their support team) have been instrumental in making sure we understand the software and use it properly. They have made themselves available and are quick to respond to our questions/problems (with the latter often occurring after hours). The support received is worth more than any other aspect of the software since it ensures you use the software properly and to its full potential.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

There is an extended learning curve and support is needed from the onset.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Predominantly, billing issues.

  ### 9. Kait Gray

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2023

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

I have been using LEAP for about 8 months. Kait Gray is great with document automation. Our production of materials have increased dramatically. Kait is also a super person, responsive to the task at hand and works with quick turnarounds. We are greatful for her services.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

invoicing has some limitations, but we understand why.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

shared calendar was a big issue, but that seems to have been handled.

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> We are pleased to hear that the LEAP legal practice productivity solution is an asset to your firm and glad that our support staff, Kait, has been of particular help. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for your continued partnership!

  ### 10. LEAP is an industry leader

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nish P. | Accountant/Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

LEAP team (LEAPsters) is always great to work with, LEAP employs people who are passionate about helping lawyers and their clients. I have been in business with LEAP for over 7+ (yes seven) years. LEAP Legal Software is leading the industry with its features, and flexibility. Using hybrid cloud allows my clients to use software when offline, and always have access to their correspondence and documents on a go. I have worked with other software providers as well, but LEAP really does bring unique features into US market.

With LEAP my team and I can work from anywhere and have full flexibility to assist our clients remotely without any need to travel or share screens/remote desktop. LEAP also successfully helped us transition a number of our clients to the cloud -- taking away the pains and anxiety of backups (successful ones of course) and restores. The automated forms, time recording via the timesheet, and bulk invoicing save my clients a lot of time. The mobile app makes it easy for them to work on the go from anywhere.

As a professional services provider catering to the Law Firm arena, LEAP is one of the only few softwares we elected to support and work with. The efficiencies obtained with bulk billing, trust account reconciliation, auditing checks and balances of "who did what when", bulk emailing, template library plus the flexibility of custom template creation - all end of the day improves output and saves TIME!

LEAP is also always developing and introducing enhancements, new features, new integrations, improvements to existing items etc. When we first started using LEAP 7 years ago vs what it is today is a HUGE difference -- in a positive way. Shows that the LEAP (leadership team plus the colleagues) are fully vested in the product and always looking to ways at making it better as a product as well as a good fit for the end users.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

No one software can cater to ALL. Of course there will be dislikes and likes based on the use case scenario. We heavily provide assistance to law firms with their billing and accounting and our current dislike is in the split billing arena. Are there workarounds -- always! However, am a big believer of "For every problem out there, there is a solution/workaround"

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LEAP is solving forever time consuming travel needs (not forgetting the travel expense savings). With LEAP travel is not necessary. It also resolve need to have clients sent me hard copies of any documents/books. Simply upload to LEAP and we have access to it remotely. We are able to work more efficiently and save LOADS of time -- no need to co-ordinate remote access to client computers.

With LEAP, it has tremendously helped us become a task oriented firm vs a time oriented firm. End goal is to have tasks finished and not if you worked a 8hr day. If anything, with the time saving efficiencies LEAP has to offer, get more work done or have more time for yourself once tasks are completed.

  ### 11. One of the Best LPMS Products Available

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sherri F. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

As a legal practice management consultant, I am certified and have experience in several LPMS products. For many reasons, LEAP is by far one of my favorites. When used properly, almost all aspects of running a law firm can be managed within the product.
-- The QBO/Xero integration simplifies law firm accounting. No double entries (which reduces errors).
-- LEAP keeps all trust accounting in LEAP - no double entry into QBO. I am a stickler for precise trust accounting and respect LEAP's process.
-- The auto-capture of time is a huge bonus for those, like me, who are creatures of habit and just cannot get it together and bill all of our time.
-- The way LEAP organizes matters places all of your client/matter information at your fingertips.
-- The integration with Microsoft products works well.
-- One of my favorite features is the auto-generation of forms & templates in Word. Every time I show this to clients, they get excited. It allows you to generate documents (your forms and those supplied by LEAP) in just a couple of clicks.
-- LawToolBox is fantastic for those who use rules-based calendaring. I wish I had had it when I was using my tickler system. It's no longer a chore.
-- Available in desktop, browser, and app.
-- LEAP selects a few consultants who are experienced in law firm management and provides all new users with live training with these professionals. Once training is completed, firms can retain the consultants to continue providing services. There is no other LPMS company that provides this. You learn their product, and then you are on your own. LEAP wants its client firms to succeed and gives them the support they need.
-- So much more ...

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

-- Invoicing cannot be managed from a start to end date. This has its good and bad points. I do like running invoices from the 1st to the last day of the month; however, what you run into with this feature (which LEAP wisely does not allow), is if there is outstanding time before the 1st, it remains in WIP. LEAP does not allow you to miss this time. I would still like the option.
-- There are limitations with calendar sharing.
-- I'd like to see more reports (and make them customizable).

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have seen LEAP solve problems clients did not know were solvable. I am beyond impressed with LEAP and its support team. There is no reason for a firm not to succeed in LEAP.

  ### 12. I used to like my job until this software was implemented

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2023

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

It's easy to bill items, and check billing for missed items.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

I hate this program with body and soul. Program was developed entirely for capturing billing with no input from legal support staff who do the actual work within the program.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves no problems, however it creates a whole slew of them.

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your recent review. We appreciate your feedback and continuously strive to help law firms with the legal practice productivity solution. LEAP offers many robust features to ensure the firm has everything you may need to run a law firm.

We recommend that you contact pma@leap.us so your dedicated LEAP Practice Management Advisor can help you resolve some of these challenges and ensure the rest of the staff get the most out of LEAP.

  ### 13. The Cloud is Getting Heavier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack S. | Senior Information Technology Business Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2022

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

On-premise products are rapidly moving to a subscription-based payment model to shore up declining license revenues, and in some cases are announcing significant price increases for those subscriptions. The jury is still out on whether the move to subscription licensing, and price increases, will be sufficient for on-premise applications to hold back the onrushing tide of Cloud products.

The LEAP-Time Matters “joint venture” initiative is an interesting case in point. Time Matters has for decades been a leader in the area of Practice Management software. The age and sheer complexity of that product’s code base, however, make maintenance and upgrades increasingly expensive. Support has likewise become somewhat more complicated for this older product.

LEAP offers Time Matters users a solid and reliable alternative to continuing with Time Matters, with a very clear and transparent migration path. LEAP has developed a very powerful Time Matters migration tool, which they will use to move existing Time Matters data into the LEAP product. This service is provided by LEAP at no additional cost beyond the normal monthly subscription fee.

LEAP offers the standard “big three” law office management software components (client/case management, time billing, and document management) but has enriched their product with a fourth feature that may begin to tip the scales: document automation. Time Matters has long offered Word merge capability, but users need to build their own templates, define the variable data fields, etc. LEAP has upped the ante by providing hundreds of pre-designed document templates with variable data fields already embedded, based on the many case types that LEAP supports. And LEAP maintains those templates automatically, with no user edits required. If a state changes a “standard” form, LEAP will update that form in all of the databases they maintain in the Cloud. As an on-premise product, Time Matters could never offer this capability.

LEAP has similarly “leaped ahead” of most on-premise practice management products with the depth of its integration with Microsoft Office 365. Time Matters has long offered a robust integration to MS Office, but the LEAP integration takes a quantum leap ahead of its joint venture partner with an almost completely seamless integration to Word, Excel, and Outlook.

As with its competitor “all-in-one” Cloud-based products, LEAP will likely never become as feature-rich as a dedicated, highly customizable “best of breed” product like Time Matters. For many users, however, the trade-off is more than justified, especially when the bulk of those powerful features are under-utilized, or ignored, by so many firms.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

Leap tables are not customizable, which is a problem for some Time Matters users that have created extensive form "Styles" in that product

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leap solves the problem of server maintenance and backup management

  ### 14. All-in-One Law Firm Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Managing a client's information, documents, emails and legal accounting all from one location is a great way to streamline a firm's efficiency. In doing so, there is one centralized location within the same software one can go to work on any given legal proceeding for a law firm. Further, the document automation components to the software are way ahead of other products where one's information from a matter can quickly pull into a legal document. The last thing to note is the integration with many applications such as Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Online. Once these applications are set up and utilized correctly, it not only allows for client-related information to be harnessed and grown, but it also gives you all the tools you need to run a law firm as a successful business.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

There isn't a dislike per se, however, it is essential to note that with any new software there is a learning curve. If one recognizes that there is a fair amount of work involved to set the law firm up for success and embraces the learning curve then the opportunities are endless. Conversely, if others are not willing to invest the time and effort to grow with the software, the learning curve will take longer to work through.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With LEAP being an all-in-one cloud-based solution, it is narrowing down the software needed to run a law firm into one. Perhaps more importantly from a financial perspective, it is saving a significant amount of money on the cost associated with running server-based software. These are costs such as server maintenance, server upgrades, etc.

  ### 15. Leap and Aneta K. have been invaluable.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott W. O. | Founding Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2022

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

The attention that my dedicated support staff has offered when we are all really learning this for the first time.
The system itself may take getting used to but everything is there to use.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

Split billing is not easy and the system is not designed for it. Additionally there are a million reports that tell me all i need but i need sometimes a singular dashboard report that would be quick access to the data.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had many initial problems, especially with matters and billing, however, LEAP assigned us dedicated people and Aneta, Krishna, Kait have been incredible assets to our firm.

  ### 16. Service that exceeds expectation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruce J. | Attorneh, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2022

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

You can access your client files anywhere. It is designed specifically to help small law firms seamlessly perform court related functions and necessary accounting functions.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

Leap does require that you slow down and invest the time to learn the system. You also need multiple licenses in order for staff perform various functions at the same time.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whether the issue is accounting or legal document production, Jennifer Elliott always takes the time to help you learn the system and use it most effectively. Her help is directly related to increased production and profitability.

  ### 17. LEAP is good - but has some issues!!

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

LEAP is comprehensive in that it provides solid document management, accounting functionality (that is Law Society trusted), precedents, reporting etc

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

LEAP is rigid, help staff are not helpful, often causes shut downs on system and it is very expensive

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LEAP gives me trust account compliance which is great. I have comfort during audits.

  ### 18. Changes happen very quickly. Customer service is excellent. The onboarding process is the best.

LEAP automation allows me to focus on my job and not waste time on manual processes. We are much more efficient using LEAP. Competitors do not match the level of technology that LEAP offers.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

There are no downsides. The software has improved office life tremendously.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LEAP allows attorneys to enter and edit their billable time quickly and efficiently. This free's up time for the admin staff, allowing them to help in other ways.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2022

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

The brilliant template system and the merge codes are great for time-saving and automation. I specifically like the email templates you can create because you can reduce the time spent drafting/sending emails this way.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

I do not have any gripes about the software at all!

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software allows lots of time-saving opportunities, which is excellent and makes the investment worthwhile.

  ### 22. Avoid at all costs. Poor Support. Clearly aimed at large firms, very expensive and they lock you in

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua B. | Principal Lawyer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2022

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

The only good thing is the precedents and accounting system, which are both offered in pretty much every other PMS.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

- Antiquated system, clearly aimed at larger firms;
- Ridiculously expensive, especially for small firms;
- If a staff member leaves you still have to keep paying for their licence;
- Support is rubbish, and they constantly direct you to their 'LEAP University' which is basically just a bunch of YouTube videos;
- No flexibility. You are  locked in even if your financial circumstances change;

**Recommendations to others considering LEAP:**

Avoid like the plague.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Practice Management Software
Trust Accounting

  ### 23. Highly recommend

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Accounting and Document sharing (very secure)

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

I can't think of anything right now, so far everything is great

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving money and time, also everything being on cloud. Access to my data from anywhere including my mobile phone.

  ### 24. Sharing documents

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2022

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

The agent was linked quickly and answered my question effectively. She was also very personable.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

That LEAP doesn't have a dark feature to use.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's making sharing documents easy and accessible.

  ### 25. Poor support service/does not work

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2021

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Upsides is that it is cload base. The staff is very nice.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

The product does not work as promised. I purchased this program in October, and it still isn't working for me. If there is a problem with the program, you have to make an appointment with the service department, which can take several days. As a solo practitioner, I do not have several days to wait for an issue to be addressed. I would not recommend this product.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was trying to utilize a law office management software program. I have not seen any benefits because it does not work.

  ### 26. LEAP does not perform as promised

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony C. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2021

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Unless you have a very small firm with an unsophisticated client base, then LEAP is not going to work well for you.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

LEAP has many deficiencies. We previously used Time Matters and were promised that LEAP could perform all functions of Time Matters, but that is not the case. For example, LEAP cannot prepare consolidated invoices for clients with more than one matter, which should be a basic billing function. Further, LEAP does not integrate well with Outlook and it is cumbersome with Word when using more advanced functions like tables and redlining. And, despite numerous representations, LEAP does not sync billing/invoice information with QuickBooks.

**Recommendations to others considering LEAP:**

Again, unless you are a very small firm with a simple practice (no blue chip clients with complex or multiple matters), LEAP will not work well for you.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because LEAP lacked the capabilities we required, we attempted to rescind our contract, but LEAP has been unwilling to do so and unwilling to refund monies paid, despite their "money back guarantee."

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience with us, so far. ### 27. LEAP is a great platform for my business; the people behind the platform are excellent.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael F. | Principal, Michael I. Flores, PC, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2021

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

User-friendly. Versatile, customer service

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

I spend too much time linking emails to my LEAP folders

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My billing process has improved astronomically; I make more money with LEAP

  ### 28. Don't do it - they lock you in

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2020

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

All the features are reasonably easy and everything is located within the one application

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

You cannot export a client file. The export function is limited to 100 actual files which means if you have a client who wants a copy of their file you have to go back to the old fashion system of photocopying or printing. I had a large client file that I need to provide to the client - Leap were no help - they just wanted to charge me $4,000 for the export !!!

**Recommendations to others considering LEAP:**

Just be prepared to never be able to change !

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trust accounting and reports are good

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that your law firm is benefiting from LEAP’s centralized database, ease of use, and features like trust accounting and reports. ### 29. LEAP saves you time and money

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Great integration with Microsoft Office, extremely quick to set up files and produce documents quickly and easily saving time and money. A tremendous suite of products including cloud storage, appointment booking and critical date reminders. Will work with Google through G Suite as well. Provides a process to create, modify your own templates

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

Some features are so rich that there are more choices than necessary. Some learning curve to get into advanced features might take some less tech savvy individuals a little extra time.

**Recommendations to others considering LEAP:**

Trial period is excellent in getting your handle on the power of the progam.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time and money savings by quickly creating files and production of necessary documents for each Matter type.

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Thank you for taking the time to review LEAP Legal Software. ### 30. Pretty good product/so-so support

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2020

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Leap does a great job with invoicing and billing.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

We have a major problem with the mobile app which has not been addressed despite letting them know about it at least twice. It seems like the support team is trained on a very basic level. If the problem is something other than basic, it never gets solved.

There are also program level issues that cannot be changed on the user/administrative level. These quirks sometimes diminish the usefulness of the program.

The program lacks a way to create task lists for routine matters that automatically populates your calendar and prompts your daily to-do list. Clio does have such a feature which is incredibly useful.

I program also causes Microsoft outlook to operate painfully slowly for the first half hour or so after logging on for the day, which is very annoying.

You cannot search your saved emails for keywords, which is extremely disappointing.

**Recommendations to others considering LEAP:**

It has many flaws, but I still think it is better than any other available product.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is good with creating templates, and I like that it works with outlook. Billing and bookkeeping is very easy through this program. Entering time from the mobile app is useful.

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback, and we are glad to see that your firm is benefiting from LEAP’s template automation, accounting, billing, and invoicing features. However, we would like to speak with you more about some of the challenges your firm is facing. Please connect with a dedicated Practice Management Advisor (PMA), by emailing pma@leap.us, for support and training resources. ### 31. Leap

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2020

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

I have been using LEAP for over 3 years, and found it to let me work where ever my computer is. Also, it has most real estate forms and letters, and able to make my own documents that save me time. It also has made my practice less need for paper. Having a scanner is necessary to upload your documents but once you do they are easy to fund and there is no extra charges for the amount of documents you have. Overall it has substantially improved my practice.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

the time it takes for tech service to respond.

**Recommendations to others considering LEAP:**

Great Tool

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped me keep track of documents

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Thank you for your review of LEAP Legal Software. ### 32. Great Customer Service for an all inclusive office management software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pierre A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2020

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

when you ask for something to change to fit your practice it gets done. They serve their customers well.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

there is nothing to dislike because they cater to your need

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a general practitioner. As I work with different fields of law, I had a different software for each. Now I replace at least 3 of them so far with LEAP and I I am still working to include 2 more. I save some good money and the headache of jumping around from software. All my clients are in one software and I do my accounting for business and trust right in there.

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Thank you for your review of LEAP Legal Software. We are glad to hear that LEAP is everything you need to run your law firm. Our Practice Management Advisors and LEAP Support team pride themselves on providing world-class assistance and greatly appreciate your feedback. **Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2020

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Effective for drafting and indexing all sorts of documents, letters & pleadings necessary for my practice.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

I would like a more streamlined process for the indexing of the voluminous amounts of electronic communications received and sent for each file.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am capturing more billable time, plain and simple!

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

  ### 34. Very unhappy with Leap experience

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2020

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Helpful for recording time/WIP and storing electronic files for clients.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

Where do I start? I am extremely unhappy with the service I have received from Leap since I decided to wind up my practice. Leap could not care less about me as a person, they just want their money and will lie to get it. They also could not care less with assisting me to retrieve and store my documents/electronic files after my three year contract expires. They appear to expect me to keep paying through the nose for Leap for the next 7 years so I can comply with my obligations to keep files. I do not recommend this dishonest, greedy company at all.

**Recommendations to others considering LEAP:**

Don't do it.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leap have not assisted me in any way to solve my problems with their system.

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> We are sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience with us, so far. ### 35. LEAP makes promises and does not deliver.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2019

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

Ability to electronically file and to use NY documents. There is not much else to like about this program as the rest of its functionality is the same or far below what you get with other similar products available at a lower cost.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

Calendaring, task system, billing all fail to function as one would expect for legal management software. Also, their app is useless as it does not allow you to schedule and link matters to your calendar nor does it allow for time entries. I also cannot use my MacBook effectively with LEAP. LEAP does not have its own calendaring or task system making it difficult for it to function properly as a law office management program. Using Outlook, it is difficult to function properly for multiple calendars and have the ability to have your staff maintain their own calendars while having easy access to yours.

**Recommendations to others considering LEAP:**

Do not go with this product! There are better options! The one thing LEAP offers that others do not is good document integration, especially for NY practitioners, but even that benefit does not outweigh the problems with LEAP.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I will have to switch away from LEAP as it does not have the features as were promised when I made the switch and I have spent a few thousand dollars getting outside tech service to get up and running with LEAP.

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback, and although your firm is benefiting from LEAP’s document/court form automation features, we are sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience with us, so far. Please email pma@leap.us to connect with one of our Practice Management Advisors so we can discuss some of the challenges that your firm is facing. We look forward to ensuring that your firm is utilizing our software efficiently and providing you with support and training resources to improve your practice. **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah S. | Conveyancer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2019

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

LEAP is a comprehensive program for any size firm. The ability to select matter types and open a file based on the fields created by the matter type is extremely helpful. A huge guide a precedents is available for a range of matter types. Integration with search providers to automatically add cost recoveries is extremely useful.

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

As it is cloud based it can't be accessed without an internet connection.

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organisation of files are much better with LEAP. Being able to print out a file list based on certain requirements (eg. file type, person responsible) to go through is also a great risk management tool.

**Official Response from Practice Management Advisor:**

> Thank you for your review of LEAP Legal Software. ### 39. LEAP Office Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2018

**What do you like best about LEAP?**

you have everything in one single program, you have a trust accounting program, you have a time billing program, you have everything in one place, you don't have to go from one program to the next, one login one place one job, LEAP has everything I need to run my practice efficiently. templates are very helpful

**What do you dislike about LEAP?**

you can't start an email outside of LeAP & then attach a document; it has to be generated from a matter - not practical. Cloud services keep dropping out. The critical feature being integrated outlook and document management services completely fail most of the time and dont work in bad weather. Its VERY EXPENSIVE for the small firm. For 1 or 2 users its fine but don't forget, if you start using it and grow, moving away from it is an absolute pain.

**Recommendations to others considering LEAP:**

In addition, the customer service is great. Despite the fact that LEAP is very user friendly, we hit a few road bumps at the beginning. The tech team responded promptly and each was knowledgeable and friendly. My staff loves the program because it keeps us all on the same page. I know what has happened in each file simply by opening the file in LEAP. LEAP where have you been all of my life!

**What problems is LEAP solving and how is that benefiting you?**
