While GrowthZone is a strong platform overall, there are a few areas that could be improved. Occasional system updates or changes can also disrupt workflow if not clearly communicated in advance. Reporting capabilities, while useful, can sometimes feel limited or require additional customization to meet specific needs. **What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

I find GrowthZone easy to use and navigate, especially when it comes to setting up members' information in the database. The ease of setting up an event or a program is also something I appreciate, allowing both members and the general public to register easily for our programs and events. It's convenient for anyone to view our programs and events throughout the year. Plus, I've found the onboarding support excellent. My team leader was great at answering questions and checking in, making the process manageable and effective.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

GrowthZone is a little bit slow in their customer support. Sometimes when you have an issue with a module or a feature on GrowthZone and you open up a ticket, it can take several days, if not weeks, to get a response on that issue to trying to find a solution for your problem. Also, sometimes the site can go down, and I know that they've had some issues with that. So I think technology-wise, they've still got a little bit more room for improvement.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GrowthZone saves me a lot of time and stress by handling recurring billing, membership renewals, and event planning. It lets me do batch invoicing for different membership levels and allows members to set up their profiles in the database.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

I like the ability to set up different levels of discounts for our members and manage the membership list. I'm able to see which members have paid and who haven't, and I can run reports to get an idea and update on what I need to address. It's a one-stop shop.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

The challenge with GrowthZone is that there's so much to do, and I don't always remember how to do those things. I have to constantly get a refresher course. If there was a way to access previous steps or things I had to do, so I can redo them, that would be wonderful.

I use GrowthZone to manage our member-facing website. It's like a one-stop shop for accessing all segments of our organization, where we can make changes and updates. It allows me to set up different levels of discounts and manage membership lists effectively.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

The program meets our needs for most all aspects of our association in one place - membership records, billing, events, communications, marketing, etc. Everything can be managed in one location without the need for additional programs.  The entire program is user-friendly. The online Knowledge Base is very thorough when we need help.  When we can't find what we need, the team at GrowthZone is always ready and willing to help.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

Some of our processes and policies are a bit unconventional, and the options for customization in those areas are somewhat restricted. As a result, we've had to come up with creative workarounds to function effectively within the system. We've also encountered a few challenges with the setup of the web store, but we've been able to manage and make it work for our needs.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we have a small team, it's important for us that everything is user-friendly and accessible to everyone for collaborative work. It's also preferable to minimize the number of programs we need to buy and manage. GrowthZone meets both of these requirements for us.

I love how GrowthZone automates membership dues invoicing, making the process much easier for me. The member portals are a fantastic feature, giving members more control to advertise and share special events. Creating events and invoicing is now much simpler and more efficient. The initial setup was straightforward, which was really helpful. Overall, GrowthZone provides more benefits to our members and solves previous issues we faced with a website managed by an individual.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

Getting started with GrowthZone has been such a great experience! From day one, the team has been welcoming, patient, and easy to work with. They walk us through every step, answer our questions quickly, and make sure we actually understand what’s happening.

What we’ve loved most is how personal it feels. They really listen to our needs and tailor things so it fits us, instead of just giving a one-size-fits-all plan. The process feels organized but not overwhelming, and their energy makes it easy to stay excited about what’s ahead.

So far, onboarding has been smooth and supportive. We can already tell GrowthZone is going to be a great partner for us moving forward!

We don't have any downsides so far in the process.

The support team is exceptional and I must say that each time I have reached I have been contacted in a very timely manner.  And no matter how many times I have to email back to get clarity, they will keep responding until I am okay and ready to move to use.

Currently, it is that they do not have a CMS for a website so it make our current site look like it is not connected to the member portal which is managed by GrowthZone.

I am told that pretty soon, we will have capability to pay using methods like Google Pay, Apple Pay, Zelle, CashApp.  The ability to use more than 2 pay methods will help us (we believe) in getting our younger generation of members to renew their membership quicker.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

In 2023, we set out to overhaul our website and AMS to solve a number of challenges that our association experience with our old system. We decided to use the GrowthZone AMS and host our website on Wordpress. I love that implementation of GrowthZone was easy and as painless as possible. It included training and time with developers who listed to our concerns and feedback and helped us customize solutions. When we have new staff, there are videos and articles that really cut down on our time spent training. 

GrowthZone has allowed us to streamline processes, such as event registration, and achieve better integration between our AMS and newsletter / contact lists. One thing that was huge for us as a trade association is that the software is built with the ability to create and track parent (company)-child (employee) relationships and both individual- and company- level member data. We also appreciate being able to create lists and categories to easily segment members, and these lists can be automatically refreshed every evening to incorporate new contacts based on rules. The member onboarding process is seamless, and we've had only positive feedback from our members about the transition. It's also super easy to pull and customize reports, an underrated feature compared with the AMS we used previously.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

I have found some aspects of billing to be frustrating, particularly for events. It can be hard to correct mistakes (for example, if a member registers for an event twice or as a non-member) because there's often not a good way to just undo something. GrowthZone makes a lot of system updates and upgrades though and some of what had been frustrating me has definitely improved.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Specifically, the AMS is build for trade associations, and being able to create parent-child relationships has solve major issues for us. In addition, the event module has saved countless staff hours logging registrations and entering transactions into our accounting software.

I’m less than two months into using Growth Zone for my new job, but I love it. I have used several similar platforms, and this is one of the most user-friendly out there. I love how easy it has been to learn, the number of event features, and the learning opportunities they offer.

You can't include dietary restrictions for meals.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

We've been using MemberSuite by GrowthZone for over five years now and it's proven to be a comprehensive solution for managing our association’s membership and operations.

Pros:

Robust Membership Management: MemberSuite offers a strong suite of tools for managing member data, dues, renewals, and communications. The ability to segment and track member activity has improved our engagement strategies.

Customization and Flexibility: The platform allows a decent amount of customization, which is helpful for aligning with our internal processes. 

Automation Features: Automated billing, event registrations, and email reminders have reduced manual workload significantly.

Support & Onboarding: The implementation team was helpful, and their ongoing support is responsive, especially when it comes to technical issues or training questions.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

Cons:

User Interface: The UI can feel a bit outdated and unintuitive in places. There's a learning curve, especially for less tech-savvy staff.  Also, the portal is not the easiest to navigate for some of our members.

Performance: At times, the platform can be a bit slow, particularly when running complex reports or navigating large data sets.

Customization Complexity: While it's flexible, some customization options require technical knowledge or additional support from the Growth Zone team.

Before implementing Member Suite, we struggled with fragmented systems and manual processes that made it difficult to maintain accurate member records, communicate effectively, and generate reports.  Some of the key benefits of using Member Suite include:

I like the simple event posting and registration process for members. I also appreciate the Info Hub and the ability for members to share their own events, press releases, and more. They were very attentive and helpful during the entire implementation process, and their chat bot is always available and answers quickly to questions.

We’ve had some difficulty with billing—specifically needing to add contacts who aren’t directly associated with us, which is challenging since we run a large farmers market every Saturday.

The professional development that you provide is very helpful, especially in the non-profit sector. Our entire team regularly attends your sessions and always bring back really good, useful information.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

Before Growthzone, our association management was disjointed, running through a Microsoft Access database, disconnected billing, communication software, tracking, etc. Nothing worked together. We are in awe of how well Growthzone has been able to bring our management all into one platform, where all staff can track and learn together. The ease of use is notable, as is the ability to customize memberships, and transfer custom fields, and data. There are also continuous improvements happening and the ability to request future updates.

Our initial transfer of data ane implementation was time consuming, but the data was transfered correctly and the implementation staff were excellent in the transfer. 

We also appreciate the integration with our website and running the website through GZCMS, which helps us do more internally. We use the system constantly for hundreds and hundreds of events and are currently in development to create a library within the InfoHub for our members.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

There have been some issues in the past with other staff members having a tough time getting through to support, however, when issues have arisen, they have always gotten resolved. 

There are a few areas we would like to see some more customization, but it seems to be headed in that direction witht the progressing development.

The ease of the program. That was one of the things that we were really looking at when we were in the market for a new CRM. We needed something that was easy on the front end, for our members, and easy enough on the backend for staff. We wanted a platform that would be able to schedule our events and be able to digitally check people in to those events. We wanted a platform that was easy to learn and this was definitely it. One of the things that definitely stands out is that there is a live chat feature for help. That has been my go-to for tech support from the very beginning...very impressed with that.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

I've put in several suggestions for updates, that I would think would be easy to implement, but haven't seen any movement on them yet. I keep hoping but I haven't seen anything.

We are able to create memberships for our members so that we can email them for certain things. For instance we have created Supervising Broker memberships so that we can create emails that go just to those individuals. It's simple and easy to do and it makes our jobs much easier.

I love the freedom I have to grow and scale my business with GZ. Great training resources are available, easy to implement and use, train my team and intuitive platform. I like the new community feature and having our members use a single sign in approach is going to be vital.

Help Tickets can take a couple of days to hear a response. This has gotten faster the past 2 months. Love to see an app feature that incorporates Community. Would love to see better fundraising forms.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

GrowthZone is extremely comprehensive - as a member management platform, it has a ton of utility and features to help you get the most out of your member data. We use GrowthZone daily to keep member records up to date (contact info, location, social sites, etc.) and to send out communications. The contact management and communication features are intuitive and easy to use if you have any sort of CRM experience.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

As a BID (Business Improvement Distrcit), we had a fairly unique and complete use case for GrowthZone. Our implementation coach Katie was amazing, and helped us customize the software to our needs, but there are still some limitations. GrowthZone has a couple features that cannot be turned off, such as billing, which our organizaiton does not need. This means we have to use workarounds, which can be awkward.

We have over 1600 members and GrowthZone helps us keep them organized, keep their contact information up to date, and make sure the right communications go to the right members.

Having worked at two other REALTOR associations previously, I can confidently say that Growth Zone is far superior to the association management systems I've used in the past. Our association has been using GrowthZone software for a couple years now, and we've been completely satisfied with the system - from the onboarding process to day-to-day tasks. Having efficient tools to handle our member data is crucial, and this software has proved to be invaluable to our association.

1. Ease of use
It didn't take long for our team to learn the various features and functionalities. From adding new members to updating their information and tracking membership statuses, everything is streamlined and easy to manage.

2. Reports
Generating reports for attendance, membership growth, and financials has been a game changer. This has significantly cut down the time we spend on administrative tasks.

3. The onboarding process was seamless and well-structured 
Their team provided comprehensive monthly/weekly/daily training  sessions that were tailored to our specific needs, ensuring that everyone on our team felt confident using the software from day one. They thouroghly answered all our questions and guided us through setup, making sure we were making the most of the software's capabilities. There were several homework items required - completing these throroughly was detrimental to making the transistion from our old software to GZ a smooth one, and we were walked through each one.

4. Customer Service
They have been amazing! Each time I've reached out they were quick to respond and solve whatever conumdrum I got myself into. Their knowledge and friendly service really makes the difference and sets them apart.

Overall, GrowthZone' exceeded our expectations. It's reliable, user-friendly, and has truly transformed how we operate. I would highly recommend it to any organization looking to streamline their member management processes.

Honestly, we've been so happy with the system, there isn't anything I can think of that I don't like. There have been mishaps/errors/confusion... but it's all been user error. Any issue we come across, there's answers in the help section, or tech is a phone call away.

GrowthZone provides all the functionality we need and want while communicating directly with NAR.  It saves us time and effort, countless hours over the course of a year.  It provides ways for members to take control of their information in our system, to register for meetings or events and sign up for sponsorship opportunities all online without any need for staff assistance.  Members appreciate that they can do all these things from their phone, their office or anywhere they can access the internet.

We use it ever day and it is incorporated into almost every aspect of our association management functions.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

Customer support is closed on Wednesdays.  Naturally, if something goes wrong it will go wrong on a Wednesday.

Customer Service is extremely helpful! I use the online chat feature often.
GrowthZone is a 1-stop shop for customer relations. Contacts/directories, blast emails, event management, project management, education tracking, billing, and more!
It's easy to learn (GZ Knowledge Base and Chat are great!)

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

GrowthZone is a product in the making, so there are some minor functionality issues. They are quick to listen to their customers, implement, and make changes for improvement (this is a good thing). The biggest problem I'm experiencing is when updates are made, the change don't seem to make historical adjustments. Example: If I create an event at the beginning of the year for an event taking place later in the year and they make an improvement to the events module, it does not apply to the event made early in the year.
As an Admin of our account, I wish I had more access to see who made changes. I'd also like more access to correct some of the historical errors.

GrowthZone has come a long way this past year. We love the communication about new features, especially all the stuff around events. We are hesitant to switch our financials/billing over to GZ because of the reported issues.

The best part about GrowthZone is their willingness to talk and collaborate with the users on new features.

The program is good and we are very happy we switched.  Are there things that could be improved?  Of course!  And that's where they excell, they know improvements can be made and they are willing to make necessary improvements without thinking the program is perfect.

My only complaint is the initial training.  We were one of the newer companies to join Growthzone.  I believe that at that time training wasn't laid out very well.

After meeting with staff and helping with product development I believe this has been improved.

As CRM's go it's easy to figure out but there's nothing better than a good training program.

There are 2 qualities about GZ that make them superior.  1 - Customer Service team is beyond FABULOUS! I have never been left hanging with no answer; they are calm; they listen; they ask questions to understand the issue so they can provide the best answer; and most importantly, they care! 2 - The online Wiki is one of the best resources I have ever used or seen! Kudos to GZ for taking time to provide a document that shows you step by step instructions and examples.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

My one dislike would be the reporting when it comes to actual revenue recognized for a data range entered.  Many of my nonprofit members have 2 or more memberships with us. Therefore, when running this revenue report, it shows them bifurcated and with the discount if there was one. It makes it very hard to pull out what was actually paid and what the actual dues were before the discount was applied.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

consider the full package... meaning you are buying software but you are also buying the knowledge and customer service which you will rely on to help you use the system to the best of your ability.  GZ offers the best support I have ever experienced and they have provided me the care and support I would expect from a colleague or staff member.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Revenue recognition which I have an open ticket with GZ
- Set up of corporate accounts so we have related contacts and the money is applied accordingly
- Invoicing is a breeze!
- Some reporting is a bit tricky but the GZ staff is always there to explain and assist

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

For the most part, the system is user friendly.  The template options for the website are much more attractive and using WordPress as the platform is definitely a step up.  The visibility in to the billing section is great and processing payments super simple.  Love how easy it is for members to pay by clicking on their invoice.  Registering for events is also super easy.  It's getting close to Amazon status -- just a couple of clicks and you're registered, paid and have it on your calendar.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

Because it's a newer system, there continue to be changes.  Some of those changes are good and some, not so much.  Unfortunately, there is very little (if any) communication about the changes so you're often left floundering to figure out how you're supposed to do something now.  The wikis don't stay up to date with the changes so there's no help to be found there either.  The wikis, in general, often fall short of getting you all the way through the process you're looking for help with.  It often seems like you're missing the last page of instructions.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

Involve your team in the onboarding process.  Let them learn it from the very beginning.  They will have buy in for the decision and will be more accepting of the good, and the bad, because they were involved.  It also makes the learning curve very simple for going live.  They will have already worked in it extensively and understand how to use it for their functional areas.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to process the financials without a financial expert on our staff has been fantastic.  Because of the way we went through the onboarding process, we now have a team of expert users (instead of one "super user").

As a Chamber Director, in the field for 25 years, GrowthZone/ChamberMasters has been one of my biggest accomplishments! No other software or method of operation has been more useful than this one. I have recommended the software to all my sister Chambers, informing them that they won't find a better too. Adding this software had made my job 100 times easier. Everything is streamlined. Even managing our website through GrowthZone is so easy. Much of the information is automatically added just by using the backend software. And it's a beautiful website too. There simply aren't enough words to describe how pleased I am with all aspects of the software. I would recommend this first and foremost to anyone!

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New features are always added to help with managing membership, invoicing, tracking participation, and keeping in contact.

I really like that GrowthZone has a great events module - as a business based membership organization we put on over 50+ events per year so it is helpful to have payment and event tracking in one place.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

Growthzone does not have a very good prospecting tool and does not interface with sites like Hubspot. Ideally I would like a CRM that keeps track of your prospects - like they attend an event and get flagged for automatic follow up 2 weeks later, etc. That would be a huge help!

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, having membership and events in one place that is very helpful - it cases for easier tracking of both current and prospective members in regards to engagement. The reporting features are also really helpful.

Overall, it's a pretty good database. The MIC offers a lot to our members. There is definitely a learning curve to the software (more on that below), but the support team is usually very helpful. Our organization is pretty new and I've only been using the software for 6 months or so, but as I continue to work with the software I find more ways to customize and make it work for us, which I love!

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

Sometimes the software isn't very intuitive and it's often hard to find what I am looking for in the online tutorials, but like I said above, the support team is very helpful. While there are a lot of great features in the software, we would love more functionality out of the software. They have a system where you can request features (which is great!) but it's a work in progress.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

When seeking feedback from some of members on our business directory, I was encouraged to know that one member said every chamber she had been a part of in the past used the same software. This was great, because it made her user experience easier. When she moved to our area and joined our Chamber, it was a really easy transition for her.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just this week, we were able to streamline our new member onboarding process by using customized fields. While it took a little while to set up, it will be really helpful in ensuring that we welcome our new members to our organization in the same way! 

We have also recently used the groups & interests section to streamline ways for members to get involved! We're excited about this moving forward.

**What do you like best about GrowthZone?**

The staff user interface is great - easy to navigate.  The membership and billing modules are well done.  GZ integrates nicely with the company website and members love having access to the Members only portal (named Member Hub in GZ).  There are a lot of things I like about this AMS.  They have a good wiki for online help and offer a number of How To videos.

**What do you dislike about GrowthZone?**

While I do like working in this AMS, GrowthZone falls short in a number of important areas.  

The online member portal needs to be built out a bit more.  The levels of security for what members can and cannot edit are not detailed enough.  They should be set up by field.   If you want members to be allowed to add their photo to their member profile, that also allows them to change their names.  We are using the certification/continuing education module as well, so when an employee leaves a company, what happens many times it that the company will just log in with the old employee's email address, request a new password, and change the name to their new employee.  When this happens, all of the certifications and CEU hours show under the new person's name when they haven't tested or attended courses.  

Another area where GZ falls short is the forms.  GZ does not allow payments to be accepted in a form.  This creates multiple staff steps as invoices must be manually created based on form answers.  You cannot set up a field to trigger invoice generation based on an answer.  Also, you do not have control over form layout.  So, when spacing is off or columns run together, one must open a support ticket which goes into development.  Solutions can take months.   

The field set up behind the scenes definitely needs work.  Using fields to merge data in the email module  is incredibly frustrating as you never know what you will get.   Field names are not consistent, and not always present.  Tests may show things working correctly, but when you mail live, you may get different results leaving merge fields blank in emails.  

Lastly, support is lacking.  The support team is very nice, but response time is slow.  Also, many times the level 1 team (first team that responds), may not understand the system as much as the users.  They also may not take the time to really read fully the support ticket submitted.  Support is set up with multiple levels, and it takes a lot of time to get the ticket through the "system".  Items are prioritized by GZ and unfortunately, their priorities may not be our members.  So, something that is very important may take months to get resolved or to learn that it will not be resolved at all.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

If doing a custom installation/migration, be sure to have a call with the GZ team at the beginning of Onboarding.  Get to know everyone that will be involved in the onboarding process.  Make sure your account executive has gone through an onboarding similar to yours.  Make sure you map out your membership business rules to share with the team.  Explaining them can get lost in translation.  Ask a lot of questions and chat with current and past clients.  It helps to hear what is working and what are points of pain from actual clients.  The GZ sales team is great but I don't feel like we got the full picture when we purchased.  But, in all fairness, how can you really communicate all the things about your needs to a sales person?  They may not be able to understand the nuts and bolts of your company.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We desperately needed an updated website.  One that looked current and had a good CMS.  We needed our AMS to be fully integrated and for the two to work together seemlessly.  GZ provided that solution.  Members like having access to a Member portal where they can access member only resources.

There's not one thing...it is a comprehensive application that is extremely intuitive and easy to use for both staff and members. From events to communications; from membership to sponsorship, GrowthZone makes membership management and engagement simple.

To better serve our dynamic association, we could use some enhanced/additional reporting features to pull data and 
need Event Attendee and Sponsorship dashboard widgets to measure member/non-member engagement at a glance.

**Recommendations to others considering GrowthZone:**

There are a lot of options out there in the membership-management space, GrowthZone was the best fit for us. GZ offers the potential to increase member benefits, personalize member experience and utilize our data to grow our membership. Since our implementation, there hasn't been a day where either one of our staff or member has commented on how easy GZ is to use.

Growth Zone gives us a variety of options to serve our members better, including enhanced benefits (some automated - even better) and registration ease.  Cannot wait to use it at in-person events!

Next to having custom designed software for your membership organization, growthzone coupled with Quickbooks is your best solution especially when you have a small work force and do not have funding for same.

Occasionally a change will be mad in the back end which affects our reports.  We never know about this until all of a sudden a report we used the day before now has incomplete information.

We have a much better way of handling our membership database.  GZ is somewhat intuitive, but when you wear as many hats as I do and do not have a dedicated IT person, occasionally I am challenged or just plain stymied. GZ Help always comes through, but the delay can be frustrating.

Once you enter all membership information, it creates a system that is easy to use. Our annual dues billing and tracking down late payments has never been easier, and maintaining our membership database and directory for the website is incredibly smooth.

The learning curve was rough because there are so many aspects to it, but the company did their onboarding quite well. However, when I have questions, it is somewhat difficult to find an answer, especially for the tough questions that aren't in the FAQ. I've resorted to using the Wiki to find answers. And it's especially tough to find someone to talk to.

**What problems is GrowthZone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had difficult keeping the membership directory online updated, and now changes and revisions are instantaneous--and can even be done by the members themselves. We are at a point in our year where over 60% of dues have been paid for the year (renewal is annually in January). Historically, we have never been at this point this early in the year.
