**What do you dislike about Gist?**

Fraudulent charges- huge limitations after 3 months some limits in usage, but have not affected as a medium size business. Missing AI option on mobile device

**What do you like best about Gist?**

The thing we liked best about Gist is that it is an all-inclusive platform within which you can do both marketing and business process management.
In EMV we used different vertical platforms to do everything, now with Gist a large part of the business processes can be managed in one app.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

The thing that we as a company like least about Gist is the fact that membership is based on the number of contacts. We have large databases of contacts and importing them all would become very expensive.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In EMV we used different vertical platforms to do everything, now with Gist a large part of the business processes can be managed in just one app.

**What do you like best about Gist?**

I've found Gist to be a very intuitive software to set up. It integrates well with my existing SOP and the support through both Knowledgebase and WebChat has been efficient and fast.

I'm still learning how to master the software, but each day it is adding value.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

When using the CRM, the messages can be saved inbound messages are saved in my Outlook system too. However, I don't think Outbound messages are able to appear in the Outlook 'Sent' folder.

I would also like to be able to format the text when replying from GIST. I don't believe I'm able to 'bold' any text, or create a bullet point list, like i can in Outlook.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've wanted to have a Live Chat bot (like Emma), and the solution that Gist provides appears to be the perfect fit so far :-)

It is simple to understand; especially through the help articles provided! The Suppor Team is helpful as well.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

I am not a veteran user of Gist, but so far my challenges are:
1. Understanding errors when importing (there's not enough details on these errors)
2. Upgrading the subscription and contacts (Had to reach out to Support to upgrade from Professional All-In-One for 1k to Premium AIO for 5k; unable to do from the settings)
3. Migration services not included under Professional. I tried to use this service and am still waiting to here from support as it's apparently only included under Premium Yearly. Couldn't find the Premium Yearly option.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has so far solved the current needs we have such as options to set up Live Chat and Email marketing.

I love the fact that it has many useful marketing tools that are easy to setup and deploy. It isn't clunky as you would expect with such an array of tools

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

There are no downsides that I see at the moment. The tutorials are there to help guide you through each and every feature.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having an app for their live chat is a big plus! I also like their comprehensive CRM that allows you to store amazing amounts of data - even custom data.

**What do you like best about Gist?**

I really love how easy it is to add chat to my site and other sites. The knowledge base is a major plus. They just launched drip campaigns. My customers are now engaging constantly with me and getting the info they need. I can immediately get a notification in my phone and chat with customers on a mobile app. Now with  automations, merge tags, filters, etc I can always see where my customers lie. It’s fantastic! 

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

The mobile app needs serious attention. It's pretty poor. When you get notified about a chat, you can click on the notification to open the app. Then you type your response to the customer/client … click enter to send … and it says it sends and then clears your entire response. So, you have to force quit the app, open it up and find the message you want to reply to … to be able to chat with the customer / client. That's it. There's only the option to chat or close the conversation. So, if you need to use a mobile app for chat, Gist is not your app. Beyond that, there aren’t too many downsides to this application. I wouldn’t say that developers are fairly quick at implementing new teachers and I really enjoy the use of this app. I do wish deliverability % was slightly higher, but that’s just a matter of time.

Chat with the developers. Read all materials and help guides. Join Facebook community.

Currently have issues where customer interest drops off because there was no live chat.

One of the standout features of GistApp is its user-friendly interface. Navigating through the platform is a breeze, and our team quickly adapted to the intuitive design. The ability to seamlessly integrate GistApp with existing tools and applications has streamlined our workflow, saving us precious time and reducing the friction often associated with adopting new solutions.

Learning Curve for Advanced Features:
GistApp's user interface is generally intuitive, but some of the more advanced features may have a steeper learning curve for new users. Additional tutorials or in-app guidance for these features could be beneficial.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before GistApp, communication within our team was scattered across various channels, leading to missed messages and disjointed discussions. Switching between multiple tools for different tasks disrupted our workflow and hindered productivity.  Managing customer interactions and providing timely responses was challenging without an integrated solution.

**What do you like best about Gist?**

We love using Gist, and using it for years (since they were Convertfox) and after some time they are rebranded to Gist. The platform itself is a great solution for any business that provides support to its users. Also, it has Email Marketing, and other options like Surveys, forms, etc., which made us to switch to gist to get all these features under one platform instead of subscribing to multiple platforms, I mean we need to have support software, email marketing software, feedback software, but with gist we have all these features under one platform.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

I understand that businesses grow, but when we make promises to the users, we should keep that promise. We have purchased their LTD a few years ago, but after rebranded to gist, we lost access to our LTD account, and it was deactivated, no proper response from the team at all. Otherwise, the platform is great, customer support is good. Animations of the live chat widget could be improved, and the UI as well.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our primary use case is to offer support to our users via live chat, build chatbots, and knowledgebase, and we also use it to send promotional emails to our customers and leads. Additionally, we create forms and surveys to ask for feedback from our users to improve the services we offer.

**What do you like best about Gist?**

Gist has been essential to allow us to build processes, categorize leads, and manage interactions with our clients. We started to implement it as we wanted a good overall solution for the platform and kept using it for the last two years for the business. The leads trackers is super basic, but that simplicity worked for us to track the different lanes and statues of our clients and their projects. The chat bot was by far the most affordable option for us, and allowed our customers to simply reach out anytime they had a question.

We did have a few questions for them a few times, and their customer support was a bit slow due to timezones, but they were always able to get to the bottom of the issue.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

Gist's platform has become a bit bloated making it hard to find certain options until you get familiar with how it works. Most of the settings are intuitive, but there are many times when you think a setting should be in one place, and it is in a submenu somewhere else. Not too bad once you get used to it, but after using it for a while, you do get a feel for how it is organized.

Also, some of the tools are not super intuitive to setup and integrate with your existing solutions. They do support Zapier, but that requires a Zapier subscription to master the implementation.

For me, I wanted a chat bot and bot system to allow customers to reach out to my team and get answers.

Few things which I liked about Gist - 
1 - Dashboard
2 - Custom Fields for sorting contacts and data acquired through various channels and websites
3 - Live chat support team
4 - Integrations with leading softwares and tools
5 - Easy to use for newbie (first email marketing tool I'm using and I'm loving it)

Lacks email drag and drop design tool, they need to add more widgets to design emails.

Gist brings together all the pieces to create a marketing automation funnel, customer support and CRM for businesses that sell their products or services.

Not much to dislike here. My minor gripe would be the UI of the calendar for scheduling meetings. But that is probably just personal preference.

**What do you like best about Gist?**

The platform itself is easy to use, and more affordable when comparing to its competitors. We can have a live chat, email marketing, chatbots, forms on all on a one platform, crazy, right? It does everything for us, from customer support to marketing. And it is good to have all these options under the same platform, so we don't have to login to other platforms for different use cases.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

The animations of the Chatbox could improved much, the animations are not good at the moment, also the widget is not working on some scenarios, which have reported by our users.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Gist to provide Live Chat support to our users so far, and we have a knowledgebase created with Gist, which is working well. And sometimes we use Forms, and Surveys.

Great platform, the Ai "Emma" bot is a great new feature, the knowledge base is one of the top options in terms of designs & capabilities, if not the best! Highly recommend it for any startup or business!

Probably the inbox feature could be improved more. but it's still a nice alternative to many many other softwares, so maybe few other tweaks or improvement could make it the best platform for support teams. but over all still great

Big Umbrella towards the service yet its considered to be a good platform with a general backbone in the system and the entire services given to customers through gist

A bit complicated at first with multiple options towards new users that might be too much at first. moreover the default interface might be a bit complicated for new users

I have had this tool for several years now and can say that it is now becoming a mature product, its feature rich, works exceedingly well, and the support has always been responsive. 

They have recently gone above and beyond to investigate an issue with some html code that originated in a different company so a big thanks to the dev team there too

I'm very happy with Gist and it's visual workflow feature and as a small business owner i'm more than happy with this product

The only frustration I care to voice has been the learning curve. There's room for improvement on the intuitiveness, but once you are over the learning hurdle it becomes significantly easier to navigate and understand

**What do you like best about Gist?**

Easy to use, really powerfull tools to offer support to all my visitors. It solves my problems to offer support to my visitors when they on my site and blog and I help them to find the content they need. For me has been a life changer because is easy to be in contact and the messenger is compatible for desktop, tablets and mobile devices.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

Some features are difficult to find and sometimes tkes some time to undersantad where the function is. But they have a comprehensive and well documented knowledge base so it's easier to find what I need, everythign is organized by topics and with clear instructions. 

They also an amazing support team ready to help, they answer fast and ahve the solution ready for you, they even will do the procees for you if its possible so you just have to seat and wait while they fix it for you.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Offering support in my blogs. My visitors have the chance to contact directly with messenger and when I'm not available they can leave me a message or search in my knoledge base. Before Gist I received a lot of emails asking quick questions or let me know that they didn't find an information, the time between emails was really long and my visitors ended goign to another website, now I have the solution fast and ready, so they are happy and keep retuning for more content.

GIST menus are a little bit difficult to navigate, especially the bot menus. Sometimes I get a little lost when trying to find the BOT that I created.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to using GIST, customers wouldnt be able to quickly leave their email address with us. Instead, they would have to fill out a form on our contact us page. Now, our potential clients can leave their email address with our chatBot, and then we can organise a meeting at our clients convenience to go over the project.

Simplicity of use, great tutorials (we learned so much about emails) and top-notch deliverability. Anyone on our team can utilize it without extensive training

i would say it was a lack of sales pipeline, but that has now been added and is in beta, so we have brought that into our system.  It now does everything we wanted.

We have Infusionsoft but we were getting bogged down in basic bulk email communications and prospecting - and the larger CRM is so complicated. GIst makes it easy

That it integrated everyhting I will ever need, in terms of marketing, customer support, CRM, and much more than that...on a single platform

the interface should be a little bit more User friendly so newbies can set it up correctly, not stumble upon features.

Gist has a lot of great features and a great user experience for both site visitors and support agents. The onboarding was very intuitive, also thanks to their detailed knowledge base. So far we have only used the live chat and bots, but we are already working on migrating the custom knowledge base of our SaaS to Gist.

We would like to see a few more integrations, especially with Frill, SureCart, SureMembers and BuddyBoss.

**What do you like best about Gist?**

Great combination of Chat, Social, Email and even Social media marketing - when using the Premium. Can build a comprehensive user profile with numerous data points and target the user from many different channels all at once. The free version has some considerable limitations (understandably), though still allows you to effectively use a single software for online chat, email communication and lead gen altogether - though the difference from Hubspot in that regard is unclear. The Premium All-in-one package though provides some decent bang for your buck - if you can afford it.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

The chatbot currently works for the Gist website chat, but not for social - this doesn't make any sense. Why would you pay to automate one chat channel, but not be able to do so for the rest? Another thing is the paid addons, their Support bot shouldn't really be an add-on, since without it, the differences between Gist and Hubspot, which they are directly competing with, become even thinner. The free version's 200 contact limit is also quite low.

Using Gist to generate new contacts and nurture a community out of my blog. A conversational marketing tool such as Gist is ideal for this, as it revolves around conversation and building relationships, not just advertising.

Easy to use and the integrations with other plaforms via zapier or webhooks make syncing between different stacks and absolutely breeze

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

Managing multiple domains under one account has been a bit tricky but the dev team are working on this.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Live chat with my users has been difficult to crack in the past.  Gist has helped to cure all of the issues and has helped open a communications channel with sales prospects and customers in a new way.  The mobile app is amazing and easy to use.

I was able to eliminate multiple other software I used to run my business by switching to Gist. I'm very happy that I have everything I need in one easy to use dashboard. It's perfect.

Not much to be honest. There are a few other features I'd love to see such as project management features.

It's giving me easy access to communication with my customers. The live chat and emails that show up in the same inbox is exactly what I needed.

At this point Gist has evolved to  become a very complete tool. We've been using it since its early days. I would like to be able to use my current account on two separate websites (they're the same brand, just different countries). But that's about it.

**What do you like best about Gist?**

We are using Gist to replace a more fully featured but buggy chatbot. Gist works really well at handling human conversations. It's pleasant on the eyes and instills confidence in users.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

The notification settings are a little parsimonious. If a user is logged in, no email is sent--fine, I suppose, but means that even though Gist may not be open in the browser no notification is sent because it remembers the user session. Gist sends notification emails with the visitor's reply-to email, which is nice--except that it's very hard to keep these notifications out of Outlook's junk folder.

We use Gist to empower users of an educational resource site to contact site administration. This results in less spam than a contact form. We do not often engage in realtime conversations with users.

**What do you like best about Gist?**

We were paying a high price for some functionalities of Intercom and we changed to  Gist because covers all our needs. Furthermore, the team is fast including new functionalities and requests. We primarily use it for support and engagement emails, but it has other nice functionalities such as surveys, knowledge base or meeting scheduler. I totally recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

We have encountered some bugs but the team at Gist is fast solving them. Also, it would be nice to have better reports (more customization) and more functionalities related to events (use properties from Segment events) which is vital for us even though the basic functionality with events is covered.

It is our tool for customer relationship management: Support, Email marketing, Knowledge Base, Surveys.

I can only place the chat widget on 1 site unless I upgrade. That's ridiculous.

Their email marketing solution helps me to save money as I don't need to engage another email marketing platform for the same purpose. I hope the limit could be higher.

Integration was super smooth through Segment. Everything just worked and my support team was able to give support through the Live Chat in no time. Pricing is much more accesible then Intercom and all-in-all it was an easy switch.

The UI could be a bit friendlier and easier to navigate. It seems a bit cramped, since they stuff a lot of features into one solution.

Live chat with users. Gist together with Segment allows us to get user data/context directly in the Gist dashboard which makes it very easy to give excellent support

I really appreciate how well the live chat works. I can send GIFs, reply by email, it's very well done. I really appreciate the mobile app for chat - it allows me to help customers no matter if I'm at my desk or not.

I would appreciate a few more of all of Gist's features and settings available in the mobile app, but I understand that it's just a chat app - a good one at that.

I do not dislike anything. GIST has a LOT of functions and it's not always so easy to understand which tool to use for a specific goal. They have many article and videos, but I would suggest to add more documentation for advanced functions and scenarios. The support team is always available and ready to help though.

**What do you like best about Gist?**

I've been an Intercom user for 3 years and finally got tired of their slow support and ridiculously high prices. I found one of my vendors using Gist and made the switch. I have been very pleased with the platform. The features are very comparable to Intercom and some even better. I love how easy it is to add custom fields and create contact segments. Plus it does a great job of tracking page views of my users so I can see where they have been in my app. 

Moving from Intercom was easy - I was able to export all my contacts, import and remap to Gist fields. The customer service has been great - they usually reply in a couple of hours and have been very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

Some of the documentation is not very clear and seems to be missing some key elements for implementation. But, there is a ton of support docs, which is great. Not much else I have run into.

**What problems is Gist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Gist for our support chat - which gets used a lot. We also use it to send marketing emails to our users based on user types and permissions.

Advanced marketing and automation tools make onboarding and customer success flows incredibly simple and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Gist?**

None of it so far! Gist seem to have it pretty much nailed!

The 'form' functionality seems a little basic. Currently this works for newsletter type forms, whereas it would be great to have an embeddable form, which has custom fields and info (basically, a contact type form) - this could then come through as a message / chat. 

The outbound email facility is handy, but it would be good to see replies just come directly to the message list, rather than a direct reply to the mailbox (outside of gist)

**Recommendations to others considering Gist:**

If you have tried Intercom but find it a little costly, but have tried pretty much every other chat solution 'chasing' similar features, Gist is as close as you will get!

I’ve been a fan of Gist (formely Convertfox) since after they launched their product. Since then, the product has developed with updates and new features being rolled out to assist business owners.

The fact that it’s an all-in-one marketing automation platform is where it demonstrates its value. It incorporates:

•	Plenty of integrations

The platform essentially saves you connected different apps via APIs as it’s an all in one where contact data is updated along the way, from lead to customer.

Gist are constantly improving and listening to customer feedback which is great, but sometimes it does take time to implement. This is to be expected though from any company especially when there’s many users wanting all types of integrations and features added.

I’ve gone through a long list of marketing automation platforms that have their positive and negatives. However, the big plus is that Gist provides most of these features, all within the same application. This reduces the multiple touchpoints you may have with customers and makes it easier to run your business smoothly with your contacts.
