I use Google Slides for most presentations, but Emaze has more features making it stand out. Every template is different, and there are templates for every topic you can think of. The ease of use and editing helps from year to year when I update with the same topic. **What do you dislike about emaze?** You have to pay to use all the services, and one service is the collaboration feature which is super helpful when working in groups, but cannot be used except with the highest plan. For this reason when using with my students, students had to work under the same username and work at the same computer. This is not a major issue, but a nice added feature. **Recommendations to others considering emaze:** Take a look at various templates to see what features each have. Most are pretty different from one another, which is excellent for diversity. Emaze will help you stand out from others, and sometimes it is vital to stand out! **What problems is emaze solving and how is that benefiting you?** My presentations are more complex and different instead of just simple. It is also hosted online at a site, making it easy to share. I love having a stand out presentation when sharing with others. Anna **Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Anna M. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2021 **What do you like best about emaze?** It has some nice looking presentation templates **What do you dislike about emaze?** What I dislike about emaze, is that there are not really any themes for school subjects, such as outer space for science, as an example. **Recommendations to others considering emaze:** My advice for those looking to use emaze, is that it has unique animated presentation templates that are not something that Google Slides offers unless you yourself figures out how to make a Google Slides template that has animations. As far as the animated templates go, they are kind of annoying and headache because the transition from one slide to the next is usually a flip, slide, or spin, which can be quite time consuming as with the time it takes and the style of slide change when using Google Slides can be made longer, shorter, (basically adjusted) and the transition between slides can be changed. I may be wrong, maybe emaze does make it so you can change those features, but I have yet to figure that out. Another downside to the emase templates is that the transitions are pretty much identical even when you are using two entirely different templates. Also, Google Slides offers hundreds, if not thousands of a variety of templates, which can work for many different occasions, such as themes for school (such as math, science, social studies, etc.) or for more formal occasions such as economic templates, which emaze lacks. **What problems is emaze solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am trying to find a nice animated template for a Google Slides presentation. ### 5. It has a widely customizable interface, where it also allows an active collaboration and access without internet. Emaze really amazes my audiences. Whenever I use it I get compliments of my presentation and people are always asking what service I used. The aesthetics are amazing, and it is so easy to embed links, charts, and data from other places into the presentation!! Find or create several different presentations on Emaze related to the topics or skills in your current learning unit. Divide your students into groups, then have each group of students study the presentation and develop their own speech and delivery needed to make the presentation a success. Truly the best. I also like that you can allow students, like myself to create their own presentations individually or in small groups, and require them to use all of the design elements (images, media, audio, graphs/ charts). The creator interface is intuitive, and the number of templates available make creating a presentation easy and time-saving, especially if you're not already well-versed in creating presentations, because you'll be able to create a professional-looking presentation even without any previous experience. You can also import and previous presentations made in PowerPoint or Slides into Emaze and enhance them using Emaze's tools. With the presentations themselves, I always find that students are more engaged and find concepts easier to understand when some sort of video is included to illustrate a point or even to deliver instruction. Emaze allows you to import videos from a number of sources. YouTube will probably be the one to use the most, but you can also import from Vimeo or upload from a file on your computer. When you import, you can choose how you want the video to play. You can loop the video, have the video autoplay when a student reaches a page in the presentation. You can also select a portion of a video to play if you don't want to show the whole video or want to use only a small clip from a longer video. You can also import images to enhance your presentation, and of course you can add text wherever and however you like. One of the most unique tools available in creating an Emaze presentation is the ability to add widgets. You could add a social media feed, such as Twitter or Instagram, or you could add slideshows of images or a carousel of YouTube videos. But what will be particularly useful for teaching is the ability to create and add charts into your presentation. You can add pie charts, scatter plots, timelines, and more. They advertise that if I make a referral, that one could get a free month of PRO and this false advertising!  I tried the referral and even after they signed up, I was never notified and there was no connection or follow through to get this month!  If this is true, they need more information posted on how this works.   They do not offer a monthly subscription and require a full year! This is ridiculous and I feel taken advantage of!    There are MANY bugs with the program that clearly need to be worked out! 1)  The lack of ability to crop images within the slides is frustrating to say the least.  The crop function only actually cropped around 30% of the time and the other times it would just make it smaller and never actually cut off the parts of the image that I needed 2) It was constantly faster to put in new photos and delete the old rather than replace (even on the template) 3)When resizing from a corner to maintain proportion it often glitched and would resize from a side instead.  I could avoid this better when resizing from the bottom rather than the top, but this was a complete inconvenience when trying to make images all the same dimensions and lining them up!   I would really appreciate a refund, for my year, but I doubt that will happen considering the rate of response I dealt with on this issue! Sincerely, **Recommendations to others considering emaze:** Go else where until the provide a more cost friendly option with no issues! **What problems is emaze solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easily conversion of a presentation to a movie ### 36.
