# Which skills management tools reduce skill gaps through targeted training recommendations for enterprise environments?

I've been exploring which skills management tools reduce skill gaps through targeted training recommendations for enterprise environments, since identifying a gap is the easy part and the harder problem is closing it with training that's actually targeted to the person rather than a generic course everyone gets assigned. A few platforms handle that targeting well:

AG5 Skills Management Software: Skills matrices and certification tracking show exactly who needs training, who can mentor, and who's ready for new responsibilities, with LMS integration giving immediate visibility into training progress once a gap is flagged.

Growthspace: Matches each person with an expert coach in their specific development area, whether that's people management or executive coaching, with the coach adjusting the plan around what the person actually needs rather than a fixed curriculum.

Learnerbly: Search and recommendations surface content tied to specific capability goals rather than a generic catalog, supporting both targeted upskilling and talent retention.

For enterprise teams running this, how much of the recommended training actually gets completed, versus sitting on someone's list?

Completion rate would be only half the metric I’d watch. A recommendation engine is useful if employees finish the suggested training, but the stronger signal is whether the underlying skill gap actually narrows afterward. I’d track recommendation-to-enrollment, completion, and reassessment scores together so the team can distinguish training that gets consumed from training that genuinely improves capability.
