## Brightpearl Reviews
  ### 1. Great Product, Extremely Inadequate Support, Horrendous Management Team & Follow Through

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy C. | Vice President of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Brightpearl?**

We have been using Brightpearl since 2021. I chose it due to its user-friendly interface, connectivity to Magento, and automation capabilities.

•First, the product itself is excellent. It has helped us to automate many systems and processes. We have eliminated double and triple entering of data. Of course, a few areas work differently than I'd like, but that I expect that.

•Except for a FEW great people I've worked with at Brightpearl (Rob Brown, Aly Sams, Alex Pack, Christina Zolezzi), I have nothing positive to say about the company.

**What do you dislike about Brightpearl?**

•The pre-go-live training was too quick and rushed.
There was no discussion of GL accounts in the current system and how they will transfer to BP. Will there be obsolete accounts? Will things report to different accounts? They will say this is not their issue because they don't know our old system, but there should be a process in which you compare each GL account and process in BP and figure out how the figures from the old system will come into BP.

•The implementation process was way too rushed, and there needed to be more on-demand help. We went live on a Thursday. It was after lunch by the time all of the data was imported, and we were officially live. We had the rest of Thursday and all of Friday with our Implementation Manager on standby. After that, we had to wait for our scheduled, sporadic post-go-live help sessions to troubleshoot things. The post-go-live sessions were 1-hour calls with a hard cut-off at 1 hour. We only had a handful of those. I'd say six at most, spread out across multiple weeks.

•Once you are out of the implementation phase, you submit tickets and use the support portal. The support system needs to be expanded. On the front end, you can't see much other than when the ticket was last looked at, if there was any response, and who is working on it.

•Support is extremely slow. I've had things in the queue for days, weeks, and even months.
The number of people I dealt with at the management and executive level that didn't follow through is astounding. I cannot believe people at these levels DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH OR DO WHAT THEY HAVE PROMISED. The following people had conversations with me about my struggles, promised help, and then never followed through. Most, I have yet to hear from again.

•Justin Press, Senior Vice Present of Customer Success
•Zach Hunt, Head of Global Support
•Adeeb Ali, Vice President of Professional Services
•Chris Church, Senior Direction Customer Success
•Elizabeth Joyce, Senior Project Manager
•Rhiannon Taylor, Account Manager
•Sai Kalluri, Senior Implementation Manager

•There needs to be more Knowledge Base or help documents regarding accounting. We had so many instances of, "I guess this is how we should do it" because there was no documentation, and we had to wait days to get sufficient help from our Implementation Manager during our next call. We were still trying to figure out a few remaining GL accounts at seven months into using the program.

•Support is not accurate and not well-versed on the product. We often asked the same question regarding an accounting process and received different answers. I still don't feel confident in any answer that support gives me.

•If you aren't on one of the larger-tiered plans, you won't be given priority at any time, and you won't get the support you need. I discovered that some accounts are supplied with a Technical Account Manager (TAM) that is easily reachable and helps troubleshoot high-level issues and questions. However, when I requested one, I was informed we weren't on a high enough tier (due to our sales volume) to be assigned one and I couldn't pay extra to have one.

•Our historical sales data was supposed to be imported immediately after going live. This wasn't actually done until almost a year after we went live. There was absolutely no follow-through on this. I had to chase people down to get this done.

**What problems is Brightpearl solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brightpearl did help us to automate our daily processes. We no longer have to double and triple enter orders, tracking information, etcetera.

**Official Response from Sage Retail:**

> Hi there Amy,

Thank you for your feedback, I'm sorry to hear it's not as positive as it could be however.

I'm really pleased to hear that you're a big fan of our platform and our new support portal, this means a lot from our customers, so thank you for that endorsement.

Touching on the areas which you have found issue with:

During your training, you were strongly encouraged not to run your third-party accounting platform separately and disconnected to Brightpearl as our platform has native accounting capabilities which do this automatically. Running duplicate systems concurrently is not what we recommend unless integrating an external accounting platform which you didn't opt for. Unfortunately this caused a large number of issues which our Professional Services and Support teams worked hard with you to remedy.

You also requested accounting training from us. While we do provide the tools to manage your accounting and other parts of your business, it's unfortunately beyond our remit as a software company to provide accounting training specifically as I'm sure you'll appreciate.

We do have expansive accounting documentation on our Knowledge Center (https://brightpearl.my.site.com/customeraccountportal2/s/topic/0TO4G000001Ii3aWAC/accounting) as well as on-demand training which many customers have found to be useful.

Thank you for renewing with us and choosing Brightpearl again, I look forward to us being more aligned in the future and seeing your business grow with us.

  ### 2. Centralizes Order Management Seamlessly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harvey F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightpearl?**

I find Brightpearl to be really quick for getting an overview of orders, which is really helpful. There's some good dashboard features that make data visible the moment you log in. The API is really extensible, making it easy for us to poll data and do additional manipulation that isn't necessarily possible directly on the platform. There's also a great deal of automation that we can do, especially around how orders are routed to different warehouses and stock is allocated. Being able to use the API for routing orders effectively has taken a lot of manual work out of the equation for our team, and the system's ability to centralize data from multiple sources like Shopify, Amazon, and Etsy is a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Brightpearl?**

There's two things I think that could be improved. One is there are a few pieces within the API that aren't available. Being able to manipulate delivery addresses on orders isn't a feature you can currently do via the API. With Shopify adding order edit features recently, it would be helpful to match those in Brightpearl. I know it's possible because the order edit feature works with Brightpearl for address adjustments, but that feature is unavailable on the API. The other is automation around purchase orders. There's automation for sales orders, but none for purchase orders. This means we have to run some processes manually that we would like to automate.

**What problems is Brightpearl solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Brightpearl to centralize our order management from multiple Shopify stores and platforms like Amazon and Etsy, ensuring consistent data output and streamlined processes. The API allows effective order routing and automation, reducing manual tasks, and the dashboards provide quick order overviews.

  ### 3. Overpromised, Underdelivered, and No Accountability

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert B. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Brightpearl?**

The sales presentation made the software seem capable and comprehensive. In practice, most of what was shown didn’t work as promised.

**What do you dislike about Brightpearl?**

Our experience with Brightpearl has been deeply disappointing and frustrating. We were sold on features that were either non-functional, misrepresented, or simply unavailable. We were never given a trial or hands-on demo before signing, so we had to rely entirely on what the sales team told us — which turned out to be inaccurate once we began implementation.

Core features such as bulk pricing updates syncing to BigCommerce, Authorize.net payment integration, and accurate product syncing did not work as promised. Even basic system functions like pricing only updating when pressing “Tab” instead of “Enter,” and misleading price list messages that don’t actually work , point to poor design and incomplete capabilities.

We were also told we needed to purchase Inventory Planner to get reporting features, only to later find that most of the reports we needed already existed within Brightpearl. This led to unnecessary extra costs and wasted time.

After months of back and forth, countless support tickets, and repeated promises of fixes, Brightpearl ultimately refused to refund the unused portion of our prepaid subscription — even after admitting that key features we were sold on were not available. It’s clear now why they require full payment upfront, because once you’ve paid, there’s no recourse when the system doesn’t deliver on its promises.

In our experience, Brightpearl overpromises and underdelivers. If you’re considering this platform, be extremely cautious. Get everything in writing, demand a full demo, and don’t pay upfront until you’re absolutely certain the software can do what they say it can.

**What problems is Brightpearl solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brightpearl hasn’t solved any of the problems we were told it would. The integrations don’t function properly, and the promised features either don’t exist or don’t work, so we’ve had to revert to manual processes.

  ### 4. Robust Multichannel Solution That Drives Efficiency and Growth

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Brightpearl?**

Brightpearl is a robust system that allows us to sell to multiple channels and links into our 3PL and accounting software. It gives us the security we need to manage our core business data and operations efficiently and certainly saves the team a lot of time. It also means we can grow the business without having to reinvent the basics each time we want to take a step forward.

**What do you dislike about Brightpearl?**

Brightpearl is a big beast of a system. That is a good thing overall but it does mean there are parts of it we will never use and the CRM system is not as strong as options that are out there. It was certainly a big decision to adopt it and took a while for the team to really know how to use it properly and it is not cheap but for what it can do for your business it still represents value for money.

**What problems is Brightpearl solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It means we can intergrate everything we buy and sell into multiple channels and our warehouse system, so that stock, orders and inventory are tightly managed, and we know our profitability for each channel

  ### 5. Centralizes Operations, Needs Mobile Support

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vicki E. | Deputy CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightpearl?**

I like that I can choose the home page to be what I need it to be. The salespeople can use it as a calendar to remind them of what they need to chase for the day. I also find it helpful that senior managers can have it set to show the figures straight away, so they don't have to go and dig through reports.

**What do you dislike about Brightpearl?**

There's not an app or it's not mobile friendly. And that it errors out a lot.

**What problems is Brightpearl solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Brightpearl centralises operations and allows our sales team to process card payments efficiently.

  ### 6. Essential for Growth: Seamless Automation and Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Brightpearl?**

Brightpearl has been a crucial part of our technology stack for several years, and we truly believe our recent growth would not have been possible without it. The implementation process was straightforward, and the team has consistently provided outstanding support, always responding quickly to our needs. The automation engine has proven invaluable for handling some of our more complex and specific requirements. The wide range of triggers, especially when used alongside Shopify Flow, has allowed us to respond quickly and process orders faster, eliminating the need for complicated order routing rules. Being able to monitor daily orders and sales, as well as analyze the P&L directly within the ERP, has greatly improved our ability to make effective decisions for the day-to-day operations of our business.

**What do you dislike about Brightpearl?**

The reporting features could use some improvement, and the ability to export specific sections could also be enhanced.

**What problems is Brightpearl solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform offers the capability to manage multiple sales channels, as well as handle integrations efficiently. Single source of truth and having a system that just works as it says it does

  ### 7. Flexible Automation & API with Strong Reporting and Multi-Channel Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert W. | Head of eCommerce, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightpearl?**

flexibility of the Automation and API, reporting. multi channel management.

**What do you dislike about Brightpearl?**

the API is delivberately restrictive preventing pulling reports of back orders.

**What problems is Brightpearl solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Generally very good but I am mindful of the aquisition from SAGE could change things.

  ### 8. Mike H and Zoe T at Brightpearl are doing great work!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Furniture | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Brightpearl?**

Mike H and Zoe T are managing a large project on multiple tech stacks for us, they are always available and able to assist in all matters. Both making the integration processes between all systems much more manageable!

**What do you dislike about Brightpearl?**

Not much to discuss on this. HAppy still using the program

**What problems is Brightpearl solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping manage inventory alongside a WMS.

  ### 9. Streamlines Business Operations, Yet Requires Updates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alice P.

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Brightpearl?**

Pineapple Island use Brightpearl to streamline our business, specifically for stock management across all website channels, and it successfully solves stock issues by keeping everything in one place. We find it easy to use and easy to understand for new staff. The initial setup was easy, and we received comprehensive training throughout, which was very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Brightpearl?**

Some parts of the system are outdated and there are restrictions in the amount of products you can add to a single order.

**What problems is Brightpearl solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Brightpearl to streamline our business and manage stock across all website channels, solving stock issues and keeping everything in one place.

  ### 10. Brightpearl

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isobel S. | Business and Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Brightpearl?**

The flexibility to customise the system to suit our needs through different custom fields and filtered views.

**What do you dislike about Brightpearl?**

Automation is limited to sales order triggers only. Would be great if we could also set up automations relating to customers, purchases, credits, inventory etc.

**What problems is Brightpearl solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Brightpearl, we were using disconnected systems, manual workflows, and endless spreadsheets. This made it challenging — and time-consuming — to get accurate data for reporting. Since implementing Brightpearl, we’ve been able to streamline and automate key processes and improve accuracy. Having a complete audit trail of every transaction has also given us greater visibility and confidence in our operations.
