I changed my CC in the portal but it didn't actually change and I had to call support to update my card. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have some users who have full email accounts so it allows them to clear out data but still have it backed up if they need to restore it. ### 2. But who is responsible for the client data after it moves to Office 365 of Google Workspace? Why - the IT staff of course. So Datto Backupify solves that concern. ### 3. I always like having plenty of redundancy and this service provides it. All of my Workspace data which is invaluable to me is seamlessly and automatically backed up. This provides peace of mind should anything ever happen where something happened to my Google data. I have over 15years of really indispensable records and documents. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** Datto purchased Backupify in 2014 and I was a customer prior to that, so I am a Legacy customer. The Login process for Legacy customers and getting to settings is harder than it should be and not necessarily intuitive. I have been prompted to make billing updates in the last couple of months and found it tedious to access the area I need to enter. Update now Backupify is owned by Kaseya, and even more challenges with simple things like upgrading credit card information, which can not be done online. I would enjoy seeing BtoC customers treated a little better. It would seem to me that making more features self-service features would lower costs **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** If all of my data disappeared from my Workspace account it would have a very significant and detrimental effect. There are documents, records, letters, emails, and other data that are saved there that I do not otherwise have copies of. That is a little concerning so Backupify provides me a redundant system to make sure that all of my Workspace data is never lost and I have solid retrievable backups. It is also automated so no cumbersome process to follow. ### 5. As mentioned in my first review, it is simple to use and train our team on. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** I would still like to see added flexibility in our ability to create a backup schedule more than 3x per day. (Or at least customize the 3 times per day.) **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can backup customer email accounts and one drive data and sleep well at night knowing that Datto's reliable service has us covered. ### 6. It was simple to install as an admin for the entire org but you do have to have at least one user that is a member on a shared drive so it can be backed up! We have had to do many restores from Backupify, and they have been straightforward and successful every time. ### 8. I was an IT Director at the time, and now I consult full time. Well, Backupify is always in my recommendations for backups. Implementation couldn't be easier, and managing it, what little there is to manage, is even simpler than getting started. They do backups, consistency checks, and the dashboards let you know if something didn't happen or failed with simple red, yellow, and green indicators. I've now integrated it across dozens of environments, and it takes the same 10-15 minutes each time. I've only contacted customer support 2x...in the 6+ years I've been using it. They've been very helpful, but the need to contact them is minimal because the product works just that well. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** No SSO with M365. I've been told its on the roadmap for the last 3 years...I've not yet seen even a beta. I see they got the KaseyaOne SSO done super quickly after the merger. That's frustrating. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** It makes M365 backup management a non-issue. It really is that simple. ### 9. The one time I picked up and asked them to email me instead of calling, they said OK, but never emailed me. 2) They always chase you for unpaid invoices, which you have actually paid 3) They don't actually send you invoices when they are SUPPOSED to send them, resulting in unknown/unpaid invoices 4) They don't respond when you email them 5) It is very hard to find a way to contact them **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Office365 backup - sharepoint, exchange, onedrive ### 10. Once installed, it pretty much just works. It grabs backups three times a day of data in Office 365 or Google Workspace. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** EDIT: There is no longer "unlimited" data included. You get 100gb per user pooled across all your accounts. The interface is a little slow to respond, especially when you have a large number of customers or a large number of mailboxes. I also wish that there was support for other platforms like Dropbox or Box. Backupify does not backup data in Exchange Archive mailboxes, which generally isn't a problem unless you migrate data directly into the archive mailboxes. **Recommendations to others considering Backupify:** The price-point of Backupify makes it competitive with Google Archive mailboxes and is an easy way to keep user data without keeping an account active. The same is true for Microsoft 365 accounts, especially if the mailbox is too large to be a shared mailbox. One caveat is that data in Exchange Archive mailboxes are not backed up. This generally isn't a problem since that data usually hits the inbox first (where it is properly backed up) before it is moved to the archive box. The only issue is if you are migrating data directly into an archive mailbox, then it is never grabbed by the backup engine. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** With the shared responsibility model of cloud providers, we always tell our customers that they need a backup to protect their data from themselves. Google and Microsoft won't keep backups beyond a certain period, while Backupify has an infinite retention model. ### 11. We have been with Backupify for about 8 years now and I have had no issues with it. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** Keyword seach is limited if your trying to find emails based on keywords. **Recommendations to others considering Backupify:** If your looking for a backup/archive solution for Gsuite, this is the product you need. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a real esate company we are mandated by the state of NC to archive 3 years of emails. We have had to use the Backupify backups for several litigation's after an agent has left the company. ### 12. We don't need to think about it to rely on it. We love the ability to go back over different Google files and versions to pick out the very one we'd lost previously - it has got us out of a pickle quite a few times! **What do you dislike about Backupify?** Not many downsides, but probably the interface is looking a bit tired and could do with an overhaul. Everything is automatically backed up, new sites are automatically added, and data is always available. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** The billing processes are very combersome since Kaseya bought the product. Its actually painful to pay for the product right now. But considering that has nothing to do with the product's capabilities, I can live with that pain for the great product that is delivered. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are protected from regular user errors and file overwrites via Microsoft's tools, but they are limited to 90 days. Having a tool that allows us to go back almost 2 years is great - especially when sometimes users don't realize they've deleted something long ago. ### 17. The result is that it only backs up the primary domain! But, when we found a better product that does cover our multiple domains, closing our Backupify account has proved to be an absolute nightmare. After almost a month of back and forth with their support team, our account is still not closed and I am able to login and see data still being backed up from our Google account. For this reason alone, which is a major security issue, we are extremely unhappy with Datto. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** None any more! ### 28. Identifying accounts that are no longer active or backups of is a pain. I wish we could chose what to do with accounts that are no longer in our active system. I don't need them backed up for ever. 120 day retention would be ideal. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need backups of our O365 info in a different location than Microsoft. If MS has problems restoring thing then Backupify is where we go. Also the data is stored longer. ### 31. Which comes as a surprise to most people that utilize these services. Datto Backupify provides a solution, a low cost one for backing up your cloud to cloud. Setup is a breeze and offers m2F and modern authorization to access it. Restoring from it is also super quick allowing granular selections. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** I would say the only down side would be that we even have to have a solution like this. Datta in the cloud with the vendor you're already paying exorbitant subscription fees too should have a backup option native beyond Azure or another MS baked-in service. Other then that, which doesn't apply to Backupify there's really no issues I can think of. **What problems is Backupify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Providing a means for us to ensure the protection of our cloud email accounts. Nothing is secure unless you have multiple air gapped backups or a means of protecting that data. This allows us a system we can quote our clients and we've seen this quickly coming up in insurance questionaires now. Soon most businesses that have cyber insurance will need to ensure alt backups for 365 and gsuite. ### 39. Meets MSP requirements for easy invoicing. Version control of one-drive files works well. It appears to be realiable. I had three needs to access technical phone support. They were very responsive. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** I guess if there is only one thing that a backup solution does not do, it disqualifies it for most users. In my case it is that Backupify claims to be backing up Sharepoint. That is NOT entirely true. First of all not all lists are being backed up (e.g. calendar lists). Secondly, as I found out today, the only things that are backup up in lists are the items (rows of the table), Neither the entrire table, meta info like Views, Column descriptions etc. can be restored. If a list is deleted, it can not be restored. I've already used it several times to recover a backup from an employee that had left and cleared out some of the documents they were supposed to have left behind. I have not had a chance to try it on the Microsoft 365 side yet, but it works like a champ for the Google issues we have had. **What do you dislike about Backupify?** We don't use Microsoft 365 much at this time, but we do utilize both G-Suite and M-365 and expressed our wish to be able to back up both. My thinking is let me purchase one, and give me the other for free since we don't have much to backup over there. It would definitely make the product that much more valuable to use if we had both. I'd also like to see all of our backups in one pane of glass, which is currently not supported. **Recommendations to others considering Backupify:** Definitely take a look at the product, but make sure you are ok with some shortcomings in customer support.
