# Which travel and expense platforms are mid-market finance teams actually using to manage global travel programs?

Hey G2 community, I'm putting together some research on Travel & Expense tools specifically for mid-market companies, roughly 51 to 1,000 employees, that have people traveling across multiple countries. Most of the marketing material treats "global" the same whether you're a 200-person company or a 20,000-person one, but the actual needs are pretty different once you factor in multi-currency reimbursements, regional policy differences, and local card programs. I wanted input from finance folks actually running this at that size rather than just the vendor pitch.

Navan shows up a lot from mid-market reviewers who like having travel booking and expense on one platform with real-time policy compliance built in. A few mention that toggling different rules by region isn't as flexible as they'd want, especially when policies differ between US and EMEA travelers.

SAP Concur gets picked for its compliance controls and ERP integration, and mid-market finance teams specifically call out automatic policy flagging as a big time saver during audits. The tradeoff people mention is that setup and configuration take real effort to align with payroll and accounting systems.

Emburse Expense Enterprise comes up from reviewers dealing with more complex, multi-entity travel and expense needs, with several calling out how much manual work it removed from their T&E process. Support responsiveness is a common complaint though, with a few reviewers saying it takes a while to get issues resolved once something breaks.

If your finance team runs travel across more than one region, which of these actually held up once you had multiple currencies and local policies in the mix? And has anyone found a platform that handles regional policy differences without needing a ton of custom configuration?

The regional-policy piece is probably where “global” gets tested properly. Currency support is relatively easy to check, but having different approval limits, receipt requirements, and travel rules by country without creating a maintenance headache is harder. I’d be interested in which of these lets finance own those differences themselves rather than needing support whenever a regional policy changes.
