Did you know that the use of car seat belts wasn’t mandatory until 1984? Even today, in 15 of the 50 U.S. states, not wearing a seat belt isn’t a violation. However, the 1968 Motor Vehicle Safety Standard was the first regulatory compliance that made it mandatory for car manufacturers to provide seat belts for all vehicles. In other words, car manufacturers have to offer seat belts, but drivers don’t always have to use them.

Question on: iSpring Suite
[NAVEX One vs iSpring Suite for a compliance team that needs a mix of off-the-shelf content and the ability to build custom modules for company-specific policies?](/discussions/navex-one-vs-ispring-suite-for-a-compliance-team-that-needs-a-mix-of-off-the-shelf-content-and-the-ability-to-build-custom-modules-for-company-specific-policies)

Quick one for LMS reviewers and researchers on G2 who know both: **NAVEX One** vs **iSpring Suite** , which is best for a compliance team that wants both off-the-shelf content _and_ the ability to build custom, policy-specific modules.

Both sit in the[](https://www.g2.com/categories/ethics-and-compliance-learning)[ethics and compliance (E&C)](https://www.g2.com/categories/ethics-and-compliance-learning) learning space, but they're built for opposite jobs. iSpring "Suite" is the authoring tool (iSpring Learn is the separate LMS) and NAVEX is the E&C catalog inside NAVEX One.

Where each pulls ahead:

- [**NAVEX One**](https://www.g2.com/products/navex-one/reviews) owns the off-the-shelf half with hundreds legally vetted E&C courses. What it isn't is a blank-canvas studio. You're tailoring NAVEX's courses, not building from zero.
- [**iSpring Suite**](https://www.g2.com/products/ispring-suite/reviews) owns the build half. It’s best-in-class PowerPoint-based authoring, quizzes, simulations. Offers a huge asset library and AI drafting, exporting SCORM to any LMS. What it isn't is a content catalog: it hands you the tools, not the compliance courses.

So, for those who've actually weighed these: which holds up better for a team that truly needs the mix? And what third option would you put on the table (if there’s any LMS that bundles a compliance library with real authoring)?

My proof-of-concept test would be to take one regulatory course and one company-specific policy. See how quickly the team can deploy the standard course, build the custom one, send both through legal approval, assign them to the same learner group, and report on completion from one place.

If the custom course requires a separate authoring tool, that is not necessarily a problem. The bigger issue is whether versioning, approvals, learner records, and audit evidence become fragmented across systems.

[What compliance training platforms connect with HRIS and LMS systems so completion tracking and reporting happen automatically without manual data exports?](/discussions/what-compliance-training-platforms-connect-with-hris-and-lms-systems-so-completion-tracking-and-reporting-happen-automatically-without-manual-data-exports)

I want to start a discussion that may sound basic but is a fundamental need of this category: which platforms actually connect to both HR and learning systems so completions and reporting sync on their own (no CSV exports, no re-keying, no month-end scramble)?

From the[](https://www.g2.com/categories/ethics-and-compliance-learning)[Ethics and Compliance Learning](https://www.g2.com/categories/ethics-and-compliance-learning) category page on G2, a few I keep circling are:

- [**Absorb LMS**](https://www.g2.com/products/absorb-software-absorb-lms/reviews): known for prebuilt HRIS connectors (ADP, BambooHR, Namely) plus an open API. For those who’ve run or reviewed it: does the HRIS sync push completion status _back_, or mostly pull people and roles _in_?
- [**EasyLlama**](https://www.g2.com/products/easyllama/reviews): it’s a compliance-native pick and syncs employees straight from HRIS or payroll and keeps audit-ready reporting current. It can act as an LMS or sit next to the one you have. But how far does that sync really go? Do completion and recertification status flow both ways?
- [**Litmos**](https://www.g2.com/products/litmos/reviews): known for slotting into a Salesforce/HR stack, with an API to cover the rest. G2 reviewers mention leaning on that API for the reporting. Is this out-of-the-box HRIS sync usually enough, or do you end up building?
- [**SAP SuccessFactors Learning**](https://www.g2.com/products/sap-successfactors-learning/reviews): it’s a native-suite play. It's the LMS module _inside_ SAP's HCM suite, so if your HRIS is already SAP, completions and audit-ready records live in the same system with nothing to export. I’m thinking, is that worth the setup weight if you're _not_ already all-in on SAP?

I'd love your take if you review or research ethics and compliance learning tools. Which of these genuinely syncs on its own, and do these tools anyway require you exporting a spreadsheet or two in some instances? I'm after the information when these may mess up.

The biggest integration trap in this category is treating “HRIS integration” as if it automatically means two-way data flow. In many cases, the connection is excellent at pulling employees, roles, departments, and termination status into the training platform, but completion data does not flow back unless there is a separate connector, API workflow, or LMS record-store setup.
