### [Bracket Email Encryption](https://www.g2.com/products/bracket-email-encryption/reviews)

Bracket is Mailprotector's email encryption product for MSPs that need to protect sensitive messages and files across their clients' email environments. It works with any email client on any device. Traditional encryption often adds steps to both sides of a message. Senders may have to install software or leave their normal email workflow. Recipients create accounts and manage another password. Those steps make encryption easier to skip and leave MSPs supporting the friction. Bracket makes the secure path familiar. A sender wraps the subject in brackets and sends from the email client they already use. Bracket intercepts the message in transit and encrypts it automatically. The recipient gets a secure link in their inbox and opens the message in any browser without creating an account or password. Key capabilities include: One-time sign-in links expire after 15 minutes, work only once, and are locked to the requesting device. All messages and files are encrypted with AES-256 in transit and at rest. Encryption keys are geographically distributed and automatically rotated. Users can add multi-factor authentication at sign-in for an extra layer of identity verification. A personal data key can also be required if a zero-access boundary is needed. Bracket Share is included with every license. Each user gets a personalized file-transfer page for securely exchanging up to 1GB and 25 files per share. Bracket can also trigger automatically through Shield's Email Traffic Control or CloudFilter's SafeSend when sensitive content is detected. Bracket carries the HIPAA Seal of Compliance from the Compliancy Group and is SOC 2 Type 2 certified. Bracket gives MSPs encryption that fits the way clients already work. Sensitive information gets protected without a password-reset queue for technicians.

Email encryption technology is used to transform and secure information travelling through an email server. These tools ensure data-in-transit remains secure until the authorized party is identified. Email encryption can be useful in any industry, but is a requirement for others. Medical records and government data are both examples of information that must be encrypted before being shared.

Email encryption tools use a variety of encryption methods to mask information, but they all provide some level of encryption capabilities to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive business information. Transport-level-encryption will ensure no eavesdropping occurs and that information remains private until delivered to the target network. End-to-end encryption adds further factors keep data encrypted longer. For example, an email can be encrypted from the point of creation and remain encrypted until only approved devices directly associated with the target user.

Some [secure email gateway software](https://www.g2.com/categories/secure-email-gateway) possesses encryption capabilities, but those tools also have additional features for comprehensive spam filtering, malware protection and information archiving.
