**Flexible and powerful, with reasonable pricing—but still room for performance improvements** We switched from Jira to ClickUp nearly eight years ago. At first, we loved how fast, simple, and easy to use it was. Over the years, ClickUp added a large number of features and customization options. While this makes the platform very flexible, it also made the interface more cluttered and occasionally slower. The experience improved significantly with ClickUp 3.0. Performance became better, the UI was cleaned up, and our development team became more comfortable using the platform again. ClickUp 4.0 has further improved the overall user experience and added deeper AI capabilities. Our main use cases are roadmap planning, backlog management, sprints, task management, and time tracking for a small to medium-sized development team. The flexibility, task automations, and integrations with Git and Bitbucket are particularly valuable to us. Pricing is also very reasonable for our use case. We only pay for actual team members, while tasks, sprints, and even entire folders can be shared with free guests when they do not need access to the full feature set. This makes it easy to involve external collaborators or occasional users without paying for unnecessary licenses. ClickUp also includes useful tools for documentation, note-taking, screen and video recording, file sharing, and annotations directly within tasks and comments. We do not use ClickUp Brain extensively, but the MCP support is very useful because it allows us to connect AI agents directly to our ClickUp workspace. The main downsides are performance and some integration limitations. Dashboards can still be slow to load, and the Microsoft Teams integration only shows a static task view when shared rather than keeping the information synchronized. Overall, ClickUp is a strong and highly customizable project management platform with good value for money, but it can sometimes feel bloated. I would currently rate it **3.5 out of 5 stars**. Faster dashboards and a better Microsoft Teams integration would raise it to a solid 4 out of 5.

the customizability is the best part, without it, its just another basic management tool or excel sheet

I love how organized this tool lets me be. The AI is great too, and it understands a lot of context. My main issue is that the AI limit feels too low for everyone on the team to use consistently. The UI is nicely designed, but at times it can feel overly complex and hard to navigate. We had to have the team watch a training video before using ClickUP because there are a lot of features, and some of them feel hidden at first. It runs smoothly on my MacBook, but it’s less smooth when using it online. The pricing is fair overall, although the AI could be cheaper. I haven’t connected many other tools yet, but I tried Notion once and it seemed to work well.
