The main value I get from ZigiOps is the complete freedom from writing and maintaining custom glue code between our core systems. At Shepherd, our architecture relies on a complex web of tools, including Jira for internal ticketing and Datadog for system monitoring. This tool handles the heavy lifting of keeping all that data in sync seamlessly. The bidirectional sync is a huge feature for us. Being able to update an incident in one place and have it automatically reflect everywhere saves a significant amount of time and prevents the kind of data drift that used to cause major headaches. It’s reliable enough that I don’t have to worry about the connections breaking overnight, which is a big deal when you're pushing code daily and managing infrastructure risks. The initial learning curve is a bit steeper than I expected, especially if you’re coming from simpler, more basic automation tools. It’s a powerful platform, so there are a lot of configuration options, and it took some time to understand how the data mapping and synchronization logic work in different scenarios. The biggest problem we’re solving is reducing the ambiguity and manual work that comes from having disconnected systems. Before this, we were spending too much time context-switching between platforms to get a clear picture of an operational issue. With ZigiOps, we have the automation in place to correlate these alerts and orchestrate the entire incident response workflow, from detection to resolution, all without any custom code. ZigiOps is easy to use, requiring no special skills to use, and very few to set up and administer. This means that my tier 1 team can be trusted to handle day to day operations without anything more than a KB article. ZigiWave, the company behind the tool, are very friendly and extremely responsive. Our implementation involved products they did not have in their portfolio, but they worked with us and created new integrations at minimal extra cost. They have been very open to suggestions to improve the product (example, adding Entra support for Single Sign On). Support of jscript for data transforms is a Godsend, allowing us to quickly redact data we may not want to pass along to other systems (PII as an example) or enrich data as part of the transform and translation process. Certificate support: There are multiple places to load certificates for different purposes, and you'll need to do most of the certificate management from the command line in different trust stores. ZigiOps is converting our various monitoring systems' event/alert data to be forwarded and processed to ServiceNow ITOM. ZigiOps was selected because the ServiceNow connectors available for our various monitoring systems were either lacking, only supported ITSM, required additional licensing or did not exist.
