## ZeroTier One Reviews
  ### 1. A handy VPN

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohit K. | RPA Developer, Telecommunications, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about ZeroTier One?**

Best thing is ease of setup, it supports all platforms with end-to-end encryption.
Can be integrated with existing infrastructure (we use it for allowing ssh access to VM for developers) to take out best out of it.

**What do you dislike about ZeroTier One?**

Little improvement in dashboard and UI of the portal could enhance user experience.
It doesn't include scaling for high end infrastructure.

**What problems is ZeroTier One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helped tighten security for one of our client, earlier without zero tier we had to open access to VM manually whenever needed. Now we implemented zero tier on the perimeter, anyone with access to VPN can access the resource.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler C. | VP, IT, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2020

**What do you like best about ZeroTier One?**

ZeroTier One is so easy to setup that you have it up and running so quickly that it is hard to believe. Don't spend hours fighting with VPNs and firewalls when you can add remote clients to a corporate SDWAN in a mater of seconds.

**What do you dislike about ZeroTier One?**

If you want to perform bridging, you'll need to be comfortable setting up a linux environment and issuing CLI commands. It's not hard, but it's not something a non-technical user will be familiar with.

**Recommendations to others considering ZeroTier One:**

ZeroTier One has one of the best trial programs that I've seen. Set it up on a small scale and just use it for free without any restriction beyond the number of computers. Once you see how easy it is to network geographically disparate devices you'll be hooked. When you realize how low the cost is to scale, you'll be even happier.

The only part of the process that is "hard" is if you need to setup bridging so that that ZeroTier acts similar to a VPN. There are several guides out there, and the steps are pretty straightforward, but all assume passing familiarity with Linux. This might be a little daunting if you're a very small office without full tech support.

**What problems is ZeroTier One solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We moved about 75% of our 1K workers home to help deal with COVID-19. We struggled with getting traditional VPN architecture to work reliably in hundreds of households running a wide array of networking equipment across several different ISPs. Then we tried ZeroTier One. Within a few minutes we were able to get users access to internal web apps and setup their softphones to connect to our company servers. Since then we've come to appreciate the ease of adding internal resources as well as the ability to deauth users on demand as well as set up all the extra LAN security you'd expect on a highly granular basis.
