# What are the top deduction management tools for automatically matching deductions to trade promotions?

I keep running into the same problem when I look at Deduction Management software on G2: half the products in that category are really AR collections tools that happen to touch deductions, and the other half are built specifically for matching a deduction back to the trade promotion that caused it. If you're trying to stop finance from reconciling that in Excel every month, the second group is what actually matters, and the reviews make the gap pretty obvious.

Vividly is the one people bring up when they want an actual number attached to the improvement. One reviewer said their deduction-to-promotion match rate went from 40% to 93% after switching over. Best for CPG teams running a lot of promos who need that matching to happen without someone manually tying each deduction to a plan.

Promomash pairs the automation with a specialist team that actually validates and disputes deductions on your behalf, not just software that flags them. Best for brands who want the platform to also do the legwork, not just surface the data.

SPS Commerce Revenue Recovery leans more toward retailer and marketplace deductions than promo matching specifically, but it automatically tells you whether a deduction is likely valid before you spend time disputing it. Best for suppliers dealing with Amazon or Walmart chargebacks.

HighRadius Accounts Receivables folds deduction matching into a much bigger AI-driven cash application engine. Best for larger finance teams already on SAP or Oracle who want deductions handled as part of a wider AR automation push rather than a standalone fix.

Has anyone actually gotten a high match rate out of one of these without a services team helping run it, or does that number always come with people attached? And for teams with a smaller promo footprint, is the lighter automation in something like SPS enough, or do you eventually outgrow it?

I’d want to separate software-driven match rates from results that depend on a services team. If the automation only performs well with people validating every exception, that changes the value proposition quite a bit for a lean finance team.
