## Yac Reviews
  ### 1. Time Saving & Continually Improving

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Casey E. | Supervising Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

Yac is the kind of service where, once you start using it, you're surprised that no one made it sooner. It's incredibly useful to be able to quickly create screen recordings and share them, particularly as sharable links that you can send to anyone outside of your organization. The devs are always friendly and responsive, and they seem genuinely dedicated to making the platform the best that it can be. Keep up the good work!

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

The UI takes some getting used to, especially coming from an app like Slack. Some functions aren't where you'd intuitively expect them to be. But once you get accustomed to it, it's not problematic.

**Recommendations to others considering Yac:**

In many cases, a screen recording is the simplest way of explaining a multi-step process or talking through an in-depth question. If you'd like a way to create them quickly, and send them to anyone you choose, give Yac a try.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create a screen recording of anything, and within seconds, have a sharable link that I can send in an email, without any concern about permissions or account access.

  ### 2. Make meetings effective isn't a dream anymore

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dudu N. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

Besides being a great tool, Yac brings a new way of collaborating without the need of being in a meeting at the same time regardless of the settings (zoom, on-site...). The tool in itself is easy to use, fast and delightful. It is fun to use Yac daily.

Have you ever thought about how to document your meetings better? Or, maybe you forgot to mention something but the discussion is past, and now you can't make up for it. Well, Yac got your back. Designed to document, (re)iterate, and build up ideas.

We, at CODENATO, can't recommend it enough. It really changed, and it is constantly changing how we work as a team!

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

It's a tool that requires a lot of cultural change. Therefore, not everyone will understand at first. Some people will need more time to learn.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication in a remote world!

  ### 3. Not just a productivity app, but also a philosophy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay M. | Founder and Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

Yac is super intuitive and makes communicating with your team a breeze. The support from the team is fantastic, and the founders obsess over the user experience in a good way! The onboarding and knowledge-share during that time is second to none. Plus, you get introduced to a new and very productive way of working called "asynchronous," if you hadn't already heard of it. This app is the perfect tool to help you and your team achieve no-meeting-nirvana while still staying totally plugged into what everyone is doing.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

Nothing that I can think of. This app is under continuous improvement, and the Yac team is unbelievably accessible to share any concerns, ideas for feature updates, or even technical issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Yac:**

At first, I wasn't sure I needed another app in my life to have to "check and respond to". But, this was truly game-changing for my team and me, and even our clients love using this app. Because it's rooted in the "asynchronous" model of work, you can lose the FOMO and use the app when it suits you. You run the app, the app doesn't run you. If you're not sure, give it a try for two weeks, and I bet you'll fall in love with it like I have.

If you're a one-person show, this probably won't help you much, (unless you use it with friends and family, and even then, that could really save you a bunch of time), so where it shines is when you use it with teams or small groups like friends and family.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Less meetings that suck up time and provide little value in return. The team is more productive, communication has increased, but the time spent in meetings has dropped to near zero. We've achieved this with our internal teams AND our clients. When there's less meetings eating away at your day/week/month, you get so much more done. And with Yac, you're not sacrificing communication and alignment; you're actually increasing it. Multiply those savings in time and gain in productivity across your entire team, and it's staggering how valuable this tool is.

  ### 4. Ya – the future of practical & effective communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean B. | Founder, CEO & Principal Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

Dynamic communication that allows for users to communicate their tone & inflection which reduces miscommunication.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

Only that I am impatient when I see game changing products like Yac take time for the masses to adopt.

**Recommendations to others considering Yac:**

Diverted. Get as many users to try this product exclusively and survey very experience.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduction in time to communicate. Communicate more effectively. Reduction and misunderstanding. Ergonomic and natural way to communicate; no more typing fatigue!

  ### 5. Great asynchronous tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nola S. | Business Development Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

I recently was introduced to YAC and I
love the smooth functionality. Your
recordings are automatically
translated using Al and it's pretty
accurate. You can send notes and
continue working while waiting for a
response. It's fun that gifs have been
included but I love that you can get
links for short voice memos you can
post into social media etc. I just use
them for celebratory notes but it's way
more personal to hear my voice
saying Woohoo!

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

I need to get to know more people who use it. Hoping the review will encourage more people I know to try it.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems - it's easy to use.

  ### 6. Try talking to them

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harris K. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

Have you wanted to say something to someone and found it difficult lately? Try talking to them. Seriously, it can be that easy. Just use Yac. They live and breathe this new remote work environment, and they have people who understand it better than anyone. Tyler on their team has been instrumental in helping my company elimiminate meetings from our calendar. You can do screen shares, audio messages, and more with their great cross-platform desktop and mobile apps.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

Yac is a new tool in the toolkit and change is hard. It will take consideration to incorporate something new to your workflow. Fortunately, the app is constantly improving and getting easier and more fun to use.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Yac to level up our remote work, collaboration, and customer support.

  ### 7. Pretty Sweet

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew C. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

I think my favorite thing is the transcription feature. Someone can send me a Yac and I can read it like a text message. It's pretty rare that I can't get the gist of the message just from reading it. And of course if anything isn't clear, I can just listen to it.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

The app feels a little Beta. Some of the navigation is clunky. They've improved it in the six months or so that I've been using it. Because of the nature of it, I expect it to navigate like Slack or Discord, but it doesn't and that feels non-intuitive. That's really the issue. The navigation does not feel familiar. It's not like email, it's not like Slack. It's just odd.

**Recommendations to others considering Yac:**

I don't know why everyone isn't using it. It's so damn convenient. And cheap.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using it to communicate with my team. When an email is going to be longer than about two sentences, I just send a Yac. Maybe even more important, my team can send me what would otherwise have to be phone calls without interrupting what I'm doing. I can then Yac back at my convenience.

  ### 8. I'm new to this, look forward to learning more.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francis G. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

I'm very new to this all, but I love being able to say what I need to thoughtfully - I also prefer attending to and answering when I can, and Yac makes this possible. I am amazed that it transcribes what I say... mostly right. I claim to think async; I may not be very experienced working in a team this way - but I'm excited to learn more about this product.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

I often make the mistake of opening a message prematurely, and I'd love to be able to pin messages I'm yet to respond to. The other thing that I would like is to lift phone to my ear to listen to privately should I be in a quiet area... it may be a user error, but if not, would be great. That said, I'm new to it - so would love to learn it more and have yet to do the on-boarding, so I stand to be corrected in these cases.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've managed to not get comms lost in whatsapp messages and similar communication tools that are not business focussed. I look forward to adapting it to the way I work soon.

  ### 9. Low Friction Comms with Stakeholders

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gavin D. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

I can just hop on a Yac and start sharing my thoughts so frictionlessly. It's very high bandwidth communication, compared to written messages; but doesn't require the overhead of scheduling a live call.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

If you aren't thoughtful about where to fit Yac into your communication stack, it can become "just another notification to deal with. Discipline in what/how you use Yac for is required!

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Yac has been a game changer for me as the founder of a tech startup. It needs to be as easy as possible to speak to our stakeholders + advisors, and Yac opens up a channel between email (slow/low bandwidth) and in person calls (fast/hard to schedule). Yac encourages more communication from the smart people I want to get the most out of.

  ### 10. Changed my life and gave me time back!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rich U. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

Using the Yac app is like a cash-back credit card but for time! I have less than 5% of the meetings I used to. I put my entire team on Yac.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

I have nothing bad to say about Yac except that they improve the app so much and fast I have a hard time keeping up with them!

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communications are so much more natural now. Meetings are a pain in the ass. Why have meetings if they aren't necessary to get the job done - Use Yac!

  ### 11. Apex customer support and ease of use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph M. | Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

The simplicity of quick voicemail drops with auto-transcription that you can reply to in the free moments of the day.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

No downsides found as of yet. Very straightforward UI.

**Recommendations to others considering Yac:**

How much of your communication can be streamlined with real-time meetings and calls? You'll find the answer using Yac.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm communicating with colleagues and clients in a crisp asynchronous way. Most things can be solved without a real-time zoom or phone call.

  ### 12. Sleek tool for cutting down on meetings

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grace W. | Vice President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

Yac helps us cut down on meetings — which is great. It is easy to use and has a sleek UI/UX. Super easy to record, cuts down on background noise, and sharing is super simple. We love the "share to URL" feature.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

We like to include video, and Yac is audio first. Video IS available. It's just usually a second or third click.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cut down on meetings, share recordings of info that multiple people need, collaborate without having to meet live.

  ### 13. The best way to save time!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam C. G. | Venture Capital Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

I love the ability to free up time from meetings that shouldn't exist.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

I love everything they are doing and also how they're taking their time and moving intentionally.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have realized that I have more time to get the actual job done and also can go direct with those with whom I have questions in a convenient way.

  ### 14. Interesting Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

I used it for the first time this week, and it was actually a lot quicker than trying to hop on a random Zoom or communicate via Slack. That made things a lot more efficient for me and my team as we try to get reports out in a timely manner without being bogged down in getting Zoom set up (which is fast, don't get me wrong) or have things potentially lost in the sauce via strictly text. I definitely love the transcript feature; it's pretty spot on!

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

It's been a little bit clunky for me to move around in but I believe that's on me, not the app itself.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quicker communication within our company as well as to our customers who've enjoyed it as well.

  ### 15. Good software for asynchronous meetings

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saurabh G. | Android developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

I like the idea that YAC is built around the concept of asynchronous meetings. Asynchronous meetings are beneficial if you have a global team that works in different time zones. I like the concept of discussions in YAC, how we can attach links anywhere, and its simplicity.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

1. The transcript feature doesn't show the correct words most of the time.

2. User experience - In some places, I faced issues while navigating. It would just come out of the discussion page sometimes.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Daily standups, QA/DEV discussions.

  ### 16. Highly effective for "too complex for email/slack" but "DOESN'T need to be a meeting" communications

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Yac?**

It is perfect for when you need a longer explanation or question, and you know the meaning/essence will be lost in translation by typing out an email/Slack. It is also awesome for cascading messages to the rest of my team. It TREMENDOUSLY helps interdepartmental communications when "tone" of written information can become a sore spot. Be able to hear someones voice is far superior when dealing communicating with colleagues that have different written communication styles i.e. - brief doesn't mean rude.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

The only thing dislike is initially convincing people it is a more effective manner of communicating. Once they use it once or twice, they're a believer in it's effectiveness.

**Recommendations to others considering Yac:**

YAC has dramatically helped us streamline many aspects of our internal communications for clarity and simplicity. We've reduced "standing meetings" significantly by getting the issues discussed and solved via YAC.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find the YAC platform to be most beneficial for detailed communications on topics that aren't as effectively communicated by quickly writing/reading. If we have 5-6 people on an email/Slack/Text chain, it so easy to gets wires crossed. Being able to fully articulate the problem and solution has saved us dozens of hours from miscommunications.

  ### 17. Yac helps me spend less time in meetings

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

Very easy to use, and the transcriptions on the audio messages help a ton in making communication fast & effortless

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

Sometimes the transcriptions can be a little off depending on how clearly the speaker is talking, but its not a huge deal at all

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing the number of meetings we hold and giving people more control over how they spend their time at work

  ### 18. SAVED ME SO MUCH TIME!!!! $$

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justis M. | Founding Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

I find myself saving so much more time. Plus I can truly explain abstract concepts more clearly through voice messages. When I send text it takes us multiple messages to discuss one topic making decisions drag out more than they need to

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

There was really no downside to using Yac, I loved the experience and am happy somebody finally created a platform where I can leverage voice

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the problem of wasted time on pointless conversations

  ### 19. Very user friendly product, great for for async communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John L. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Yac?**

User-friendly features, easy to onboard new users. I found it particularly helpful as I've got 3 kids so communicating via audio makes a big difference to my productivity (much faster, easy to use). Competitor solutions either have a short time limit (e.g. LinkedIn has a nice audio feature but it's 1 min max which is not practical in many cases) or accidentally break too often (e.g. WhatsApp voice messages accidentally cut out very frequently so you end up sending broken audio messages). The customer support team has also been extremely helpful any time I had any questions.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

So far I have not seen any features that I dislike.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to communicate asynchronously via audio, this is a big productivity hack for me personally. Especially with kids, this makes a big difference.

  ### 20. Reduce the need to meet and get the job done

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

That you can record your thoughts on the fly and don't have to wait for a moment to "write it down" and you have a transcription as well.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

There is more of a learning curve than I expected. Some things are just not intuitive. I think the hard part is getting started.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Top execs don't have the time to write stuff down. We are using Yac in concert with a CRM, and this seems like the best way to communicate with it need to go through several iterations

  ### 21. Amazing work from home application to save our time

Yac helps me communicate faster with my team

  ### 25. whatsapp evolved

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Yac?**

i actually previously used yac before it integrated what seems to be a lot of extra functionality features; back when i first used it it was a glorified version of whatsapp; seems to have expanded into something way better.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

i haven't used it since it launched all these new features, but previously, i did think whatsapp could accomplish the same thing it does.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

group communication; haven't used it yet with my team since the new features have launched; which seem pretty amazing.

  ### 26. Easy Substitute for Meetings!

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Yac?**

It eliminates the need for meetings and gives me time to put my thoughts together before sending it out.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

Not everyone wants to adapt to the new technology.

**Recommendations to others considering Yac:**

Making the switch is easier than you think, it becomes a habit.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving time and being way more efficient in the way we communicate.

  ### 27. Makes work travel so easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Yac?**

I travel a lot for work and often found myself typing long explanations since I wasn't there to articulate it in person. Yac let's me articulate everything verbally

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

Nothing I particularly dislike but it'd just be great if slack could integrate it already. I'm not a fan of huddle

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saves me a lot of time that was spent typing explanations. It also lets us have "meetings" in between everyone's busy schedule so communication is streamlined

  ### 28. Yac reduces meetings and gives time back for work!

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Yac?**

I love using Yac to replace meetings with voice messaging and screenshares.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

It's still an early product that still has some rough edges, but they are mostly invisible in my use.

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Yac to win back time on our calendars with asynchronous communication instead of videoconferencing.

  ### 29. AWESOME PRODUCT AWESOME TEAM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Love the automatic transcripting. Helps make it more usable.

**What do you dislike about Yac?**

Honestly? No downsides at this moment, but we'll see!

**What problems is Yac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes is meeting just isn't necessary! But a voice message is better.
