"WorkOS is a great platform for B2B SSO authentcation"
What do you like best about WorkOS?

1) Very good documentation and customer support

2) Transparent pricing, and finally a SaaS product where they tell you upfront what the price will be, without having to talk with a salesperson

3) Very good core product - we get positive feedback from our enterprise customers every time they configure SSO.

4) Very solid node.js SDK's make it easy to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WorkOS?

1) No profile images for SSO Azure connections (something that was possible in Auth0). This is a shame, as having the profile image improves the UX experience for our customers. We have talked with WorkOS support about this but did not find any solution.

2) White flash on passwordless login - no dark theme support. When you log in using the passwordless login flow, WorkOS validates the code on their page - but this does not respect the OS theme (so it will flash white if you are using dark mode)

3) The Node.js SDK package is using an outdated version of Axios with a security vulnerability. We reported this on day one, Axios even updated their package, but no patch from the WorkOS team. It might not represent a big security vulnerability, but it's not nice to see WorkOS listed as having vulnerabilities on Snyk.

4) Passwordless only supports a magic link - I believe it would give better UX with a code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent product experience with the right pricing model"
What do you like best about WorkOS?

The pricing model is exactly how it should be. Fixed, predictable, mapped directly to end-organisation allowing us to pass through costs reliably, and model future costs easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WorkOS?

Very little to be concerned about. You get exactly what is marketed, so if it looks like the right fit, it is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think the pricing is too high. We want to offer Single Sign-On (SSO) to customers on all tiers but can't because the cost of WorkOS SSO for a single customer exceeds the price of our lowest tier! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use, saves dev time"
What do you like best about WorkOS?

Upsides are that WorkOS allows us to support multiple SSO vendors with one integration Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WorkOS?

None thus far. Sometimes they will change their interface and it's harder to find things Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless out of the box auth for our web app"
What do you like best about WorkOS?

We bought for the self-service SSO integration, which made integration with our clients' SSO solutions seamless. We also found it easy to implement (especially vs the alternatives like Auth0), and liked the very helpful and hands on support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WorkOS?

We switched to WorkOS from Auth0 - WorkOS unfortunately doesn't have session management like Auth0, so we had to roll session management on our own. Session management would be a really nice feature to have and would have decreased our implementation time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great product that allows us to focus on providing product value rather than table stakes features"
What do you like best about WorkOS?

We primarily rely on WorkOS to provide directory syncing functionality within our product. Our development team was able to get the integration built and deployed very quickly, much to the delight of our customers. WorkOS's documentation is clear and concise, and their support team is fantastic. The response from the WorkOS support team is always fast, they have the right level of knowledge to help us troubleshoot and fix issues and escalate to their engineering team as appropriate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WorkOS?

As with all new products we've hit some problems along the way with the WorkOS product not containing all the features we would have liked or the odd bug/issue. As I've mentioned previously the support team are fantastic; keeping us updated on the path to resolution, helping with work arounds and letting us know when fixes and features are deployed. "WorkOS makes SSO and directory sync a breeze"
What do you like best about WorkOS?

The WorkOS customer portal is exceptionally well put together. The quality and step-by-step nature of their set-up guides make setting up identity provider connections incredibly straightforward. Their API documentation is thorough and high quality. Their API itself is well thought out, simple, and flexible. If you've ever manually integrated with SAML providers or other IDPs, you'll appreciate the range of options WorkOS provides for your customers and the simplicity of offering all of them through one consistent interface.

I think their pricing model is fair. If you're offering SSO as a paid feature, it will likely pay for itself quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WorkOS?

That it wasn't around years ago when I was dealing with IDP integrations manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quality product with even better support behind it"
What do you like best about WorkOS?

WorkOS allowed my company to integrate with 10+ identity providers in the time that it would have taken to implement with one of them natively. Additionally, the WorkOS customer/developer success team was available every step of the way to answer questions. They are integrated into our Slack so reaching out to them was as easy as reaching out to any of my normal team members. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WorkOS?

With each directory connection, WorkOS gives you a standardized set of fields and includes all of the other fields that would typically be available nested under raw_attributes. As a relatively early adopter of WorkOS, I found that the documentation around these raw_attributes to be lacking, and it was tough to find examples for what that payload might look like. Thankfully, the WorkOS team provided most examples when reached out to directly on Slack, but I would like to see that included in the documentation directly. "No more SSO server management!"
What do you like best about WorkOS?

There are so many SSO options out there, and it's a lot of work to integrate with all of them and to support ever-changing SAML configs, etc. WorkOS gives you a great user interface for your customers to set their own SAML config up and all of their own mappings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WorkOS?

As you connect more and more of your customers, the price starts to creep up there; it would be nice to look at a pay-per-use model vs. a connection model. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to implement, big time saver when integrating with various HRIS providers"
What do you like best about WorkOS?

Implementing WorkOS was a very easy project due to their clear documentation and extremely helpful support. By using WorkOS, we were able to integrate with many more HRIS providers than we would've been able to otherwise. That allowed us to expand the number of prospects we are were to target for our product as a result. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WorkOS?

We are always interested in further expansion of the directory sync providers we can leverage using WorkOS Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
