## About WorkOS
WorkOS is a modern identity platform built for B2B SaaS. It provides easy-to-use APIs for authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning. It supports up to 1 million monthly active users for free. It's perfect for organizations frustrated with high costs, opaque pricing, and lack of enterprise capabilities supported by legacy auth vendors.

## WorkOS Reviews
 ### 1. WorkOS is a great platform for B2B SSO authentcation

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex B. | Software developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

1) Very good documentation and customer support
2) Transparent pricing, and finally a SaaS product where they tell you upfront what the price will be, without having to talk with a salesperson
3) Very good core product - we get positive feedback from our enterprise customers every time they configure SSO.
4) Very solid node.js SDK's make it easy to get started.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

1) No profile images for SSO Azure connections (something that was possible in Auth0). This is a shame, as having the profile image improves the UX experience for our customers. We have talked with WorkOS support about this but did not find any solution.
2) White flash on passwordless login - no dark theme support. When you log in using the passwordless login flow, WorkOS validates the code on their page - but this does not respect the OS theme (so it will flash white if you are using dark mode)
3) The Node.js SDK package is using an outdated version of Axios with a security vulnerability. We reported this on day one, Axios even updated their package, but no patch from the WorkOS team. It might not represent a big security vulnerability, but it's not nice to see WorkOS listed as having vulnerabilities on Snyk.
4) Passwordless only supports a magic link - I believe it would give better UX with a code.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WorkOS solves authentication and removes this from the list of things we have to think about when developing software.

 ### 2. Excellent product experience with the right pricing model

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2024

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

The pricing model is exactly how it should be. Fixed, predictable, mapped directly to end-organisation allowing us to pass through costs reliably, and model future costs easily.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

Very little to be concerned about. You get exactly what is marketed, so if it looks like the right fit, it is.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They're handling all customer identity and authentication, including with external systems. This has eliminated the need for us to implement any authentication logic or integration to other systems except WorkOS.

 ### 3. The text is already in English and does not require translation.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2024

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

Responsive sales and support teams! Thorough and accurate documentation makes implementation easy.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

I think the pricing is too high. We want to offer Single Sign-On (SSO) to customers on all tiers but can't because the cost of WorkOS SSO for a single customer exceeds the price of our lowest tier!

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure and customizable Single Sign-On.

 ### 4. Easy to use, saves dev time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

Upsides are that WorkOS allows us to support multiple SSO vendors with one integration

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

None thus far. Sometimes they will change their interface and it's harder to find things

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us support our customer IT requests

 ### 5. Seamless out of the box auth for our web app

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John P. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2022

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

We bought for the self-service SSO integration, which made integration with our clients' SSO solutions seamless. We also found it easy to implement (especially vs the alternatives like Auth0), and liked the very helpful and hands on support.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

We switched to WorkOS from Auth0 - WorkOS unfortunately doesn't have session management like Auth0, so we had to roll session management on our own. Session management would be a really nice feature to have and would have decreased our implementation time.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WorkOS provides us authentication, authorization, and mediation between several SSO providers, in a way that's seamless to us. We don't have to manage any of this on our own, and it plugs in to the tools we were already using.

 ### 6. Great product that allows us to focus on providing product value rather than table stakes features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie A. | V, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2021

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

We primarily rely on WorkOS to provide directory syncing functionality within our product. Our development team was able to get the integration built and deployed very quickly, much to the delight of our customers. WorkOS's documentation is clear and concise, and their support team is fantastic. The response from the WorkOS support team is always fast, they have the right level of knowledge to help us troubleshoot and fix issues and escalate to their engineering team as appropriate.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

As with all new products we've hit some problems along the way with the WorkOS product not containing all the features we would have liked or the odd bug/issue. As I've mentioned previously the support team are fantastic; keeping us updated on the path to resolution, helping with work arounds and letting us know when fixes and features are deployed.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation of user provisioning / de-provisioning via numerous directory systems without building the individual integrations ourselves is the most significant benefit we are seeing.

 ### 7. WorkOS makes SSO and directory sync a breeze

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alma M. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

The WorkOS customer portal is exceptionally well put together. The quality and step-by-step nature of their set-up guides make setting up identity provider connections incredibly straightforward. Their API documentation is thorough and high quality. Their API itself is well thought out, simple, and flexible. If you've ever manually integrated with SAML providers or other IDPs, you'll appreciate the range of options WorkOS provides for your customers and the simplicity of offering all of them through one consistent interface.

I think their pricing model is fair. If you're offering SSO as a paid feature, it will likely pay for itself quickly.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

That it wasn't around years ago when I was dealing with IDP integrations manually.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With WorkOS we can offer SSO and directory sync to our customers much sooner than we could otherwise.

 ### 8. Quality product with even better support behind it

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

WorkOS allowed my company to integrate with 10+ identity providers in the time that it would have taken to implement with one of them natively. Additionally, the WorkOS customer/developer success team was available every step of the way to answer questions. They are integrated into our Slack so reaching out to them was as easy as reaching out to any of my normal team members.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

With each directory connection, WorkOS gives you a standardized set of fields and includes all of the other fields that would typically be available nested under raw_attributes. As a relatively early adopter of WorkOS, I found that the documentation around these raw_attributes to be lacking, and it was tough to find examples for what that payload might look like. Thankfully, the WorkOS team provided most examples when reached out to directly on Slack, but I would like to see that included in the documentation directly.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The original problem that we were solving was trying to integrate with identity providers "directories", which includes a list of employees in the company. We wanted to be able to "cast a wide net" of identity providers that we can go to market with, so the fact that WorkOS simplifies multiple provider implementations down to a standardized format for us was a big win. The feature is named "Directory Sync".

 ### 9. No more SSO server management!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel M. | Co-Founder & CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

There are so many SSO options out there, and it's a lot of work to integrate with all of them and to support ever-changing SAML configs, etc. WorkOS gives you a great user interface for your customers to set their own SAML config up and all of their own mappings.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

As you connect more and more of your customers, the price starts to creep up there; it would be nice to look at a pay-per-use model vs. a connection model.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to support enterprise SSO for all of the providers. This has saved us hours/days/sprints of work.

 ### 10. Easy to implement, big time saver when integrating with various HRIS providers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yarin F. | Director of Product & Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2021

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

Implementing WorkOS was a very easy project due to their clear documentation and extremely helpful support. By using WorkOS, we were able to integrate with many more HRIS providers than we would've been able to otherwise. That allowed us to expand the number of prospects we are were to target for our product as a result.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

We are always interested in further expansion of the directory sync providers we can leverage using WorkOS

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automated user provisioning, de-provisiong, and update of user attributes that are critical for our product success.

 ### 11. Great product for SCIM integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

What I appreciate the most is their support. They are very responsive, patient, and thorough.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

There are currently only member and admin role levels. It would be helpful to have more roles or configurable permissions. This would make it easier to allow more users in a company to use WorkOS safely.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used WorkOS to implement a SCIM integration with Active Directory for a client. With me being new to SCIM, their documentation was extremely helpful in walking me through how to set up a test integration with Active Directory. Then their product has made it easy to understand how SCIM works and implement the changes we needed to make in our application.

 ### 12. Excellent SSO and SCIM Provisioning solution.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Esau D. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

WorkOS saved us a lot of time when we implemented SSO and SCIM provisioning in our application, they offer good support, they've been pretty attentive whenever we need assistance.

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

I don't have any complaints about their tool.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrating various services can be time-consuming and we needed to implement SSO and SCIM provisioning with different providers such as Okta and Azure, we built one solution that can handle any provider by using WorkOS.

 ### 13. Surprisingly friendly Identity provider integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

WorkOS was the friendliest identity service I've ever integrated with. Having written SSO/SAML integrations in house and most other off the shelf products, WorkOS offered an easy and simplified experience that I haven't encountered anywhere else

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

On rare occasion a change would come through that would alter our implementation, but these were always easily caught.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use WorkOS to manage access to our private pages via a number of authentication methods.

 ### 14. Senior Manager, Product & Sales

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha K. | Senior Manager, Product & Sales

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

The WorkOS team has been super responsive and crucial to our team as we grow!

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

At this time, there hasn't been anything that we dislike. Any feedback has always been handled swiftly.

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can move quickly on the sales and product front without worrying about our integration suite being able to keep up. This allows our team to work fast and flexibly and is a massive benefit to us!

 ### 15. Helping us focus on our core business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about WorkOS?**

Has saved us countless hours in developing critical enterprise features entirely

**What do you dislike about WorkOS?**

Support is difficult as issues could be with the customer, SSO, WorkOS, or our product

**What problems is WorkOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing SSO and provisioning for our enterprise customers. The value is that we don't have to build and support this required feature natively and instead have our product engineers working on more strategic features
