Excellent functionality for the competent amateur. My junior team members use Canva, but I prefer Filmora because it is a much richer tool that provides better outcomes.

There's nothing I actively dislike about it as such.

But I do feel that I'm probably not using the functionality as well as I could, or using all the functionality available, but I guess that's about me devoting time to interact with the learning resources available. If you sent me short tip of the week videos, that might help me.

My junior team members do find it a little intimidating which is why they prefer to stick with Canva. Some tangible examples of why it is worth their time to 'learn' to use Filmora, e.g. comparing Filmora output with basic Canva output, might help to demonstrate to them the benefits. Just a thought. I use Filmora to edit my family videos, as well as for product demo and promotion videos. I use it at least once a month, usually more. It has all the tools that I need and more. There are plenty of tutorials and guides that teach you how to do certain things, so you can always learn new technique. To do simple things, the learning curve is ok. For more advanced editing there's a steeper learning curve, but I guess any tool would have it, unless it's super simplified. There are many transitions, title types, animations, etc that cost extra money. The free items are more rare, and there's no way to filter the library to see only the free items. And it's not just about the AI functions: elements like stickers, transitions, templates, and other creative resources are also subject to extra fees. This means that, in addition to the main subscription, the user is forced to make recurring payments for the AI and an extra monthly payment to access features that should be included.

The result is a frustrating experience for those seeking a complete and transparent solution, without hidden costs or unnecessary limitations.

I contacted technical support to express my concern about the micropayments, and their response was that these creative resources require a team behind them that develops them. However, many of these elements, like stickers, transitions, templates,... have been on the platform for years, and there are others that are indeed new.

As a designer, I have to do video editing when you least expect it. It's one of the best investments I've been working with the software for seven years, ever since I saw its commercial. You can combine its basic functions with any idea you have to create wonders without much effort. I like its interface, quite user-friendly and clear for both novices and experienced professionals. Of course, it's important to be impartial in order to offer constructive criticism. But to be honest, there are a few things I don't like that are worth mentioning. With each new version, many buttons or functions I already had in place change location. The same goes for my elements in titles, transitions, filters, etc. I should add more filters to the search tool. Beyond that, much of the software is about seeing, trying, and learning. I was a total beginner several years ago when "forced" to edit live services for streaming cable. I've used it every week for years now. I searched every video editor I could, tried trial after trial, then fell upon Wondershare Filmora. It was not only intuitive and flexible, but also POWERFUL. The other wonderful thing-- it is constantly updated with features. Exporting to many formats is fast and clean.

Installation is fast and registration easy with only a login. No ridiculous codes to enter.

One unbelievable thing is the responsiveness of Wondershare support. I have written several times with problems or just feedback from past versions and they have not only responded with a personal (not boilerplate) email, they have actually FIXED any problems quickly! It's like customer centered service used to be like 40 years ago.

Some features, which I consider basic, persist in not being implemented natively and are only accessible through paid plans. This can be crucial when choosing other software. An example is the blur effect. It does exist natively within the software if added as an effect separately, but it is very basic. It should have already been implemented in the same way as the scale or opacity effect, where you just click on the audio or video clip for various editing features to become visible. I use Filmora for casual video editing at least a few times a month. Considering I bought the perpetual membership over 5 years ago, I'd say it's well worth it, especially considering how expensive other video editing software can be. I've considered switching to competitors such as Adobe Premiere Pro, but I can't justify the money I'd save by staying with Filmora, especially when the edits I'm doing can all be done on either software. There are enough tutorials on how to use the software and tips that are transferable from other software that make navigating Filmora relatively easy. More advanced editing techniques are definitely doable, but they just require the motivation to learn them. I started using Filmora when I had virtually zero editing experience, and I still use it for my basic video editing needs which are for personal videos and YouTube.
