I’ve been using Filmora for a few years now, and I recently upgraded to Filmora 14—and wow, it feels like they’ve really leveled up the editing experience! I’m not a professional video editor, but I like creating content for social media, family events, and the occasional YouTube video. The intuitive nature of the software is such that anyone can literally spend a few hours with the software and instinctively know not only what the tools are for but also how to use them. The AI features are sometimes a mess. You need to try many prompts using various phrases to get any results that can be managed. To get the best result, you need to use more AI credits to use the high-end generation function that usually gives better results than using the cheaper options that require fewer AI credits. I am hoping they can either collaborate with other companies with high-end, reliable AI video generation features to improve on this weakness. The separation of using the full Filmora app and the credits required to use certain features is discouraging, especially if you are a first-time user who only finds out during exporting that you need to pay extra for other features you used. I think they can combine their payment strategy instead of this. I did see something to that effect during my last purchase though but I hope it becomes the standard. I was really happy with Filmora at first: the interface was simple, the transitions and effects did the job... but that was before. Lately, the software increasingly resembles a showcase locked with a key:

Transitions, effects, filters: each new update adds more... and locks most of them behind a paid subscription, even though I've already purchased the license.

Even basic functions — for example, freely resizing an image by dragging its four corners — now trigger the "Go Premium" pop-up. Frustrating when you thought you had paid for everything!

Several options that were included at the time of purchase now have a small diamond (lock) next to them. It feels like we're being rented our own tools piece by piece.

What I like most about Filmora is how easy it is to use. Although I have a lifetime subscription, I don't have access to all the effects, templates, or AI features. I like the intuit and easy to pickup interface. I have started using green screen content and had no experience in it and Filmora has made it very easy. I am looking forward to learning the features and video editing more in depth through videos and tutorials but I have gotten a lot further than I would have thought just messing around. I think Filmora is better in that sense than other video editing software with a steeper learning curve and steeper price as well. Integrated media including audio like sound effects and music as well as stock media makes it easier than having to use multiple sites to get those. The best thing about Filmora is its integration of multiple features into one single program, making it very convenient for me as an editor to carry out different tasks in one place. So, this integration is a great thing for me. Further, the introduction of countless new AI features has made the application far better than it used to be. Despite it being easy to use, there is no such thing that can be done in other editing applications which can't be done in Filmora. I use it for videos, thumbnails, animations, basic visual effects, and even presentations. At times, there could be performance issues, and it might crash a lot. But, other than that, there is nothing very dislikable about it. With that said, the prices seem a little high, so if this is something that can be worked on, it would be so much better.
