"Absolute nightmare for developers"
What do you like best about Vev?

It looks like it does parallax websites well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vev?

Everything else; the design editor is glitchy and unstructured. It's got a lot of CSS options like width, height, flex, etc but they all have different names from CSS so your tech team AND your designers need to learn a new syntax just for VEV, and those controls don't always work so get used to refreshing the design editor, a lot.

Custom React components require a huge amount of boilerplate; for example: A simple input with styling parameters can easily come out at 1000 lines of code and that's if it works at all. Want to build a component with three.js, that won't work. Want to add sounds and images as assets? That won't work either.

Then we get onto actions and events. It is possible to create actions and events, and this is quite nice and clever, the intention being that you can build isolated components that a non-techy can string together in the editor. However, you would need an incredible amount of document for each component to explain how your custom actions and events work together.

We tried it with a collection of very simple components: buttons, text input and a score, the result was a mess. Our estimate was that it would take 5 to 10 times the development time to build VEV components.

The NO CODE part of this actually requires a huge amount of coding.

It's ok for Parallax Websites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Not as techy as visuals would have you believe"
What do you like best about Vev?

Visually, Vev's templates and offerings match what my clients are looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vev?

While at it's core Vev is quite accessible, there is an overwhelming visual element on the "intro" page and in the back end that had a couple clients with little web building experience somewhat panicked that it's not as user-friendly as I claimed it to be. Possible paring down could heighten the user-friendly experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Creative Freedom Platform"
What do you like best about Vev?

Vev is the ideal place for you if you want to express your creativity! It offers many widgets to create dynamic designs and mixes simple tools with coding options. The support staff is excellent and always willing to assist. Its really inexpensive and offers excellent value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vev?

Several tiny imperfections in Vev that need to be fixed wont significantly affect the finished product. There is a learning curve at first, it gets fairly quick as you get used to it. But if the widget-scrolling function could be improved, that would be excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great way to give your content some spice!"
What do you like best about Vev?

I love that there's so many widgets with Vev, and it's super easy to publish to either your website, or using their hosting services. There's lots of ways to make your content come alive. Why create PDFs when you can create an interactive experience? Vev has superior support. They're always happy to help out with anything. It's also incredibly inexpensive for what you get. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vev?

It still has a few minor bugs in it, but overall, these don't affect the outcome of what I create. It's a young product, and is just going to get better. They also have a product feature request option, which is a great way for them to improve the product. There's a bit of a learning curve in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, it's fast. "Intuitive digital storytelling"
What do you like best about Vev?

Incredible (human) tech support with a very quick response time. The automated help section is also very helpful. And it's super easy—and fun— to try new elements, then tweak and modify them to get them to work in your layout. A lightning-fast publish to a test site quickly shows you what your users will see on-screen, further assisting your editing process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vev?

Elements that I've found challenging within Vev include: 1. Scrolling through the design viewscreen is a little touchy and takes some time to get used to—especially the L/R movements when scrolling vertically through the workspace. It'd be nice if there were some kind of "hard stop" for each section as you scroll through the workspace rather than having the scroll continue on into the next section. 2. I've also found it difficult to successfully design for breakpoints other than the one where I began the design (typically the desktop layout). I know I can probably solve this by digging in to the FAQ section and Vev tutorials. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great experience with Vev team"
What do you like best about Vev?

Lewis and Yoki have been great at answering all our questions and assisting us. We started using Vev for a client with a very tight deadline. The team was very responsive and was always available to help. We couldn't be able to meet the deadline without them.

The software is very straightforward, and the best part is we don't need to know how to code to create an awesome website with very innovative features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vev?

I still find it challenging to use the pre-uploaded fonts in new projects. It seems like I need to set them up again. Sometimes if I take a template, I would like to replace all fonts/colors for the ones I have set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Low and No Code Solution"
What do you like best about Vev?

The Vev platform is exceptionally flexible and powerful. I've tried them all. Vev is relatively easy to use compared to other platforms and, you can export complete projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vev?

The pricing tiers for "water mark removal". I use the Vev tools similarly to the way I use Adobe Creative Suite. I would rather pay one price annually and be able to create and export projects or bits of code as I go. The way they have the pricing tiered right now, it is based on the volume of projects you need live with no watermark at one time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"WHERE DESIGN BRILLIANCE AND DATA MASTERY CONVERGE"
What do you like best about Vev?

VEV's graphic design tools are top-notch. It allows me to create stunning visuals for social media marketing and presentations . The drag-and-drop interface, along with a vast library of templates and assets, simplifies the design process allowing me to bring my visions to life effortlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vev?

An offline mode would be a welcome addition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The most liberating no code platform for websites"
What do you like best about Vev?

We love the freedom of placement of objects on the canvas. Truly drag and drop without necessary snapping (others we've tried are more restrictive). Handles video very well with autoplay features, hiding controls (its muted autoplay works on mobile). Great support as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vev?

There is one feature we asked for where a video can be more easily made into a link to other aspects of the site. This is a real note. However, we've asked Vev for features in the past and have actually seen them implemented. They have a very hands-on support team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A world of opportunities"
What do you like best about Vev?

Vev is different to other publishing tools, especially for journalists, as it has a variety of options to make articles more intriguing. Most of it is easy to understand and use, and you can easily adjust the most basic widget/boxes. I like how easy it is to create the most simple articles, to the more creative and fancy ones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vev?

Some of the widgets are difficult to adjust or play around with. There are few options to edit if a widget or a creation is already built. I would love for it to be easier for even noobs to play around with different widgets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
