## Vev Reviews
  ### 1. A one stop platform that has it all

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonas W. | Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Vev?**

From a mockup to a finished interactive article. Vev is a one stop platform that has it all. The sky is basically the limit ones you understand its possibilities, and Vev allows us to create interactive articles without having to code. The new libraries feature also allows us to scale the content in a faster way. Very helpful for our team that consists of a lot of content creators and only two designers. Least, but not last: the team behind is always very helpful and nice. Big shoutout.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Not the most intuitive tool, but when you get the hang of it, it's also a very fun tool. Can be a bit buggy at times, but a refresh solves it most of the times.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev allows our company to deliver world class content marketing articles. From the basic «milk and bread» articles to the larger more interactive articles, Vev provides the solution to it all.

  ### 2. Intuitive, prioritises creativity and seems to pretty much do everything

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Vev?**

For designers, Vev is super intuitive. Compared to other no-code tools it makes creating modern web experiences straightforward, repeatable and so much less clunky. If you can use Figma, you'll figure out your way around Vev in no time.

Our dev team love using CLI to create more complex components when we need them - basically anything Vev doesn't do out the the box, a developer can usually add in.

All in all it's an excellent tool for our enterprise clients.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Had a couple of issues with the review feature permissions initially although to be fair the support team got that sorted really quick.

Was worried about the price at first but having used it for a few months now the value is pretty obvious. We're yet to find something we can't build in Vev and we're actually finding we can now use it to replace a bunch of other tools that didn't do everything we needed and were cumulatively costing us a lot too.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a modern no/low-code web authoring tool that our existing team could pick up quickly, allowed us to export entire sites (rather than locking us in to some CMS hosting) and that allowed us to extend its out-of-the-box functionality when we needed to. Vev does all that and more - it's meant we could reduce the overall number of other tools we were using for very specific things because now we can just get Vev to do it all.

  ### 3. A solid platform for interactive, article-driven experiences

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I really like it for interactive storytelling and more article-driven projects.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Some things in the designer still feel a bit unstable, especially around positioning. In certain cases, it’s not enough to just click the positioning icons, you also need to go into the dropdown, select the position in text, and manually set values like center, 0px, which can slow you down. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s something I hope continues to improve.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This platform solves multiple problems for me, especially when it comes to creating fast-scrolling, animation-heavy sections quickly and without writing code. It also makes it really easy to embed projects into a client’s CMS without issues, which is a big win for real-world client work.

  ### 4. Absolute nightmare for developers

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim S. | Senior Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Vev?**

It looks like it does parallax websites well.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Everything else; the design editor is glitchy and unstructured. It's got a lot of CSS options like width, height, flex, etc but they all have different names from CSS so your tech team AND your designers need to learn a new syntax just for VEV, and those controls don't always work so get used to refreshing the design editor, a lot.

Custom React components require a huge amount of boilerplate; for example: A simple input with styling parameters can easily come out at 1000 lines of code and that's if it works at all. Want to build a component with three.js, that won't work. Want to add sounds and images as assets? That won't work either.

Then we get onto actions and events. It is possible to create actions and events, and this is quite nice and clever, the intention being that you can build isolated components that a non-techy can string together in the editor. However, you would need an incredible amount of document for each component to explain how your custom actions and events work together.

We tried it with a collection of very simple components: buttons, text input and a score, the result was a mess. Our estimate was that it would take 5 to 10 times the development time to build VEV components.

The NO CODE part of this actually requires a huge amount of coding.

It's ok for Parallax Websites.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It didn't solve any problems, it cost us a lot of time.

  ### 5. Not as techy as visuals would have you believe

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Visually, Vev's templates and offerings match what my clients are looking for.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

While at it's core Vev is quite accessible, there is an overwhelming visual element on the "intro" page and in the back end that had a couple clients with little web building experience somewhat panicked that it's not as user-friendly as I claimed it to be. Possible paring down could heighten the user-friendly experience.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing me easy building of sites my clients can take over and operate themselves with minimal recurring tech support from me. (Maybe not the best business plan, BUT keeps clients happy and reccommending me more often. Pays off in the end.)

  ### 6. Creative Freedom Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jan M. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev is the ideal place for you if you want to express your creativity! It offers many widgets to create dynamic designs and mixes simple tools with coding options. The support staff is excellent and always willing to assist. Its really inexpensive and offers excellent value.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Several tiny imperfections in Vev that need to be fixed wont significantly affect the finished product. There is a learning curve at first, it gets fairly quick as you get used to it. But if the widget-scrolling function could be improved, that would be excellent.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev makes it possible for me to work quickly without getting bogged down in drawn-out iterations. My workflow has been completely changed by its user-friendly layout, variety of design features, and competent support staff. I can easily develop captivating and engaging websites with Vev. To anyone who wishes to create visually great websites without the need for developers, I wholeheartedly suggest it.

  ### 7. Great way to give your content some spice!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I love that there's so many widgets with Vev, and it's super easy to publish to either your website, or using their hosting services. There's lots of ways to make your content come alive. Why create PDFs when you can create an interactive experience? Vev has superior support. They're always happy to help out with anything. It's also incredibly inexpensive for what you get.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It still has a few minor bugs in it, but overall, these don't affect the outcome of what I create. It's a young product, and is just going to get better. They also have a product feature request option, which is a great way for them to improve the product. There's a bit of a learning curve in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, it's fast.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to create content without a developer, which speeds up our speed of content creation, and allows me, as the designer, to create what I want, quickly and without a lot of back and forth with a developer.

  ### 8. Intuitive digital storytelling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Incredible (human) tech support with a very quick response time. The automated help section is also very helpful. And it's super easy—and fun— to try new elements, then tweak and modify them to get them to work in your layout. A lightning-fast publish to a test site quickly shows you what your users will see on-screen, further assisting your editing process.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Elements that I've found challenging within Vev include: 1. Scrolling through the design viewscreen is a little touchy and takes some time to get used to—especially the L/R movements when scrolling vertically through the workspace. It'd be nice if there were some kind of "hard stop" for each section as you scroll through the workspace rather than having the scroll continue on into the next section. 2. I've also found it difficult to successfully design for breakpoints other than the one where I began the design (typically the desktop layout). I know I can probably solve this by digging in to the FAQ section and Vev tutorials.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to tell digital stories without having to write code is the fundamental benefit of a web-based tool like Vev. What makes Vev stand out isn't just one feature, it's the whole package: the intuitive design space, the ability to work in teams from multiple locations, the versatile library of elements, the knowledgable and helpful support team, regular video tutorials, video Q & A sessions and more... including the most essential feature, affordability. Vev is free, but users can opt for a tiered pricing system to meet their needs or those of their client(s) or firm. I'll admit it: I *wish* I could write code to supplement my designs. But that's not the path that I took, and thankfully, Vev came along at the right time to enable me to continue to teach myself new techniques while at the same time reinforcing and expanding the capabilities I already have.

  ### 9. Great experience with Vev team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabiana M. | Project Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Lewis and Yoki have been great at answering all our questions and assisting us. We started using Vev for a client with a very tight deadline. The team was very responsive and was always available to help. We couldn't be able to meet the deadline without them.

The software is very straightforward, and the best part is we don't need to know how to code to create an awesome website with very innovative features.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I still find it challenging to use the pre-uploaded fonts in new projects. It seems like I need to set them up again. Sometimes if I take a template, I would like to replace all fonts/colors for the ones I have set up.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating an effortless and quick landing page usually takes a lot of coding and work, Vev has helped us save time, and the templates are fantastic, I can't wait to see more.

  ### 10. Low and No Code Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The Vev platform is exceptionally flexible and powerful. I've tried them all. Vev is relatively easy to use compared to other platforms and, you can export complete projects.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The pricing tiers for "water mark removal". I use the Vev tools similarly to the way I use Adobe Creative Suite. I would rather pay one price annually and be able to create and export projects or bits of code as I go. The way they have the pricing tiered right now, it is based on the volume of projects you need live with no watermark at one time.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I hate designing with code. Employers and clients do not understand the "blurry line" between design and development that exists now, it is not getting any clearer either. Vev almost removes the need to get involved with code. It is an easy-to-use, low code solution.

  ### 11. WHERE DESIGN BRILLIANCE AND DATA MASTERY CONVERGE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammad A. | Full Stack Developer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

VEV's graphic design tools are top-notch. It allows me to create stunning visuals for social media marketing and presentations . The drag-and-drop interface, along with a vast library of templates and assets, simplifies the design process allowing me to bring my visions to life effortlessly.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

An offline mode would be a welcome addition.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VEV simplifies graphic design tasks for me, reducing the time and effort needed to create visually appealing content. This is a significant advantage for my business as i look to enhance my branding. The softwares alos helps me make data-driven decisions by providing powerful data analysis tools.

  ### 12. The most liberating no code platform for websites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** London O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

We love the freedom of placement of objects on the canvas. Truly drag and drop without necessary snapping (others we've tried are more restrictive). Handles video very well with autoplay features, hiding controls (its muted autoplay works on mobile). Great support as well.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

There is one feature we asked for where a video can be more easily made into a link to other aspects of the site. This is a real note. However, we've asked Vev for features in the past and have actually seen them implemented. They have a very hands-on support team.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

as a designer also thinking about copy/marketing/the art of presentation, Vev lets us iterate on an idea rapidly without code for mobile, tablet, and desktop (with video-rich features).

  ### 13. A world of opportunities

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlotte M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev is different to other publishing tools, especially for journalists, as it has a variety of options to make articles more intriguing. Most of it is easy to understand and use, and you can easily adjust the most basic widget/boxes. I like how easy it is to create the most simple articles, to the more creative and fancy ones.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Some of the widgets are difficult to adjust or play around with. There are few options to edit if a widget or a creation is already built. I would love for it to be easier for even noobs to play around with different widgets.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's just a great alround plattform to create eye popping articles

  ### 14. Powerful, easy, dynamic and interactive experience for no-code development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerard S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I like the unique functionalities which are easy to implement in Vev in comparison with coding from scratch (mouse move parallax, scroll speed, horizontal scroll, scrollytelling, video scroll, isometric view - such powerful and enriching features making the websites more unique so they stand out), also the animation add-ons, intuitive interface and easy setting of breakpoints. Another thing is easy implementation of embed stuff - 3D for instance. Free standard hosting is also beneficial.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I would welcome some new features such as native contact form and what I would like as a designer is to add custom fonts without need to be on professional plan, since professional plan is for agencies and I am only a freelancer lets say. Also I would like the possibility to create templates and share them with other external people so they can duplicate the file or how shoud I call it and remix it later so there would be possibility to create custom libraries.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Relatively easy and powerful creation of landing pages, microsites and portfolio presentation which are interactive and therefore attractive for the visitors and potential customers. Increased amount of website visitors... Also Vev contacts freelancers with potential leads which is super helpful to get clients

  ### 15. Disappointed by Vev's Customer Support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** huang z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Disappointed by Vev's Customer SupportDisappointed by Vev's Customer Support

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I wanted to share my recent experience with Vev, a web design platform that I used last month. I'm really disappointed with their customer support and wanted to make sure others are aware of their refund policy.

Here's a brief rundown of what happened:

I initially used Vev's free account to design a webpage, intending to use their one-time purchase option to access the source code.
Unfortunately, their FTP publishing feature had a bug, which prevented me from getting the source code despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue with their customer support.
Out of necessity, I subscribed to their Professional service just to download the source code.
Sadly, I forgot to cancel the subscription and got charged for an additional month that I didn't intend to use.
I reached out to Vev's customer support for a refund, explaining my situation and the issues I faced with their service.
However, they denied my refund request, stating that they don't offer refunds for unused months.
I understand that companies have policies, but I feel this situation is unique due to the technical issues I encountered, which forced me into purchasing their subscription in the first place. It's disappointing to see a company that doesn't show flexibility and empathy towards its customers, especially when it comes to their own technical shortcomings.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev is a web design platform that aims to address the following issues:

Simplifying web design: Vev makes it easy for users to create professional and visually appealing websites without requiring extensive coding or design skills. This benefits users by saving them time, effort, and resources.

Streamlining collaboration: Vev enables seamless collaboration between designers, developers, and other team members, allowing for efficient communication and faster project completion.

Customization and flexibility: Vev offers a wide range of design elements and features, allowing users to create unique and personalized websites that cater to their specific needs and preferences.

Responsive design: Vev ensures that websites are optimized for various devices and screen sizes, providing a seamless browsing experience for visitors across different platforms.

By addressing these issues, Vev can benefit users by simplifying the web design process, fostering better collaboration, and providing the tools to create unique and responsive websites, ultimately improving their online presence and user experience.

  ### 16. Definitely worth some time.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

It's pretty intuitive. I like how simple it is to create something unique and modern. It's sleek and also relatively easy on the computer resources. I am a big fan on some of the cool nifty features like how easy it is to do framing, parallax effects, animations and more. It's is highly customisable which is great.

Also for free users, they only insert a little banner in the corner and you can use your own domain. Really nice for those looking to try it out and still get a proper use of it professionally.

I've used several editors before and couldn't get into Webflow, which arguably is more versatile and has much more support.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It still lacks many features. Not only that, but having to realign, format etc, a website almost entirely when changing from desktop to mobile is tedious and time-consuming. Especially compared to other platforms.

There's also very little guidance. A lot you kinda bump into. Lack of analytics support as well.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes just sharing an essential portfolio easy. I want something engaging, intuitive, fluid and flexible that garners interest from visitors. And vev allows me to do so. I also like how customisable it is without entering any real code and how it has other tools, such as integrating 3D models, and before/after pic scrolls without the need for 3rd party plugins.

  ### 17. A gamechanger in how we present content on our website

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

We love that we can create beautiful, interactive and engaging web pages and embed them directly on our website, freeing us up from our clunky CMS. While we have used other website builders in the past, the intuitive nature of Vev and the fact it provides an embed code to add to our own web pages put it above and beyond. The fact you can also choose to edit the design or the content only is super helpful, so once we lock the design down, we can change the content without worrying about breaking anything.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

There is a learning curve to overcome at the start - although they have a load of teaching materials online to help. Being based in New Zealand (although working for a UK company), I have also never had much luck using the chat facility for answers - there never seems to be anyone available to answer queries about the interface.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev allows us to create bespoke web pages (articles and microsite home pages) that we can then embed within our own landing pages - giving us the freedom to create new designs independently of our usual CMS.

  ### 18. VEV makes it easy to hit the ground running!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

VEV is easy to use! I like that I can copy and paste elements from page to page. The Add-ons that come with VEV make VEV grow into a robust web builder tool that helps you be creative with your web layouts.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

VEV is a browser-based tool (Chrome only) which has its limitations. I've had some mobilization issues in the past while working on tablet/mobile views. I'd love to VEV to be a desktop application one day.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VEV is used daily within our organization. We use VEV to quickly create mobile-friendly landing pages to promote our in-store/online promotions. Vev makes it easy to create these solutions for our customers.

  ### 19. Eye opening

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Austin P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The barrier to entry for experimental web pages has never been easier. Coming from a multi-disciplinary designer, this gives my work a new form.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Their customer service is terrific, and they have helped me extensively through all my projects; sometimes, they can go missing due to time zone differences.

Another would be that some features don't work, due to a bug or other reasons, hindering my final design executions. Before proposing it to a client, I need to double-check that specific effects function as intended.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev has helped me provide new services and solutions to problems regarding storytelling and engaging content. It has also allowed me to extend my multi-disciplinary skills into the web, such as animations and 3d.

  ### 20. Great for building websites but glitchy at times and takes a minute to break the learning curve

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sporting Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I like that I can quickly change and edit a webpage and duplicate modules and whole projects for a/b test purposes. The ability to plug in third-party analytics partners for deeper back and understanding of data makes my supervisors happy.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The design tools can be demanding. The way that changes flow from site to tablet to mobile means that when I make small changes to the site experience, the mobile padding and placement can go askew. This can take a lot of extra work if you try to move backwards in your work flow.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev really helps our back end development by letting the design process be more visual with no code required, but still allows space for us to embed custom code or access third party software to improve the existing tools

  ### 21. No limit to creativity

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev is an impressive platform that has enabled our team to be as creative as they want, without necessarily needing to have the background that was once required to build such innovative sites. The customer support is impeccable, as well.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

There are still some glitches in the sites that we create, particularly when trying to design for different screen sizes. For example, we find that some elements and text will shift slightly.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are constantly trying to push the boundaries of creativity when designing marketing campaigns. We find that Vev allows us to build our ideas and serve as a unique marketing piece to showcase to potential clients.

  ### 22. Fantastic application for creating really polished microsite and landing pages

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The page builder interface is fairly intuitive, and once you get the hang of it, you can very quickly get some feature-rich pages up and running. There is a good amount of control over each of the elements of the page.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It should only be considered a front-end tool if you don't have the skills to delve into the developer interface. Some components don't entirely act as you might want; for example, I had some issues trying to trigger animations at the correct point as the user scrolls down the page.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to quickly and efficiently roll out responsive microsites and landing pages with some excellent visual and interactive features.

  ### 23. A Focused Approach to Entering the Market Pays Huge Dividends for the Users of Vev

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris K. | Web & Graphic Designer / Owner, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I was blown away by the 'Out of the Box' features (Elements) that ship with the Free version of Vev. I'll give one example in the 'Typewriter' Element, which I've used on other platforms and on a website I've built using HTML, CSS and JS. It's no easy task for users like myself who are unfamiliar with backend development. To be able to drag and drop the element onto a page, enter the text you want to use, and your done is a considerable time and resource saver.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Vev appears to be targeting a specific niche in the market, which means I would need to use another platform along side Vev depending on my project deliverables. IE: Delivering an online store.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm running a one-person studio right now, so the savings on both time and resources is a huge benefit. Access to the Elements that come out of the box allows me to appear brilliant in using the latest trends while not spending a ton of time. When you start a design studio on your own, every dollar counts. Moving from the Free Edition to Paying for up to 3 Projects, the price point is one of the lowest in the market, if not the lowest. Not having to worry about the Cost is terrific.

  ### 24. Innovative, but needs more onboarding resources.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhanushka J. | Mystery Shopper (not related to website), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

If you don't want to deal with coding, or if you dislike how other website buildings operate (WordPress..), Vev is something worth trying and investing in.

It's object based design makes it easier to understand than other builders, and a breeze to get into if you've had any experience with layer based programs like Photoshop.

It's very easy to see how your page will appear between screen sizes as well, and easy to edit content and page design separately.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

My main issue with valve is that there are no good tutorials on it and I think that's part because it's not popular enough to have the community resources that exist online to help newcomers.

While I did think that most of the Vev provided tutorials were helpful there was not a tutorial that went from the ground up on how Vev worked fundementally.

Considering that I do not have a background in web design but a little experience in Photoshop, I think it's ok to have a little difficulty, but I did try really hard to find any resource I could that could explain the features I was having trouble with.

Scaling was a very complicated thing for me as elements could get smaller or stay static or change position depending on how big the screen was, even between "modes". for example the screen would appear differently on say a large phone versus a smaller phone even though it didn't switch between say tablet and phone mode.

Small changes in pixel dimensions can impact the scaling and it was pretty difficult to learn how to scaling worked and I really think that they need to make tutorials for each specific feature/aspect of that.

Thankfully they have a Discord where you can ask questions that has people that work there, but I think they should just look back at their older tutorials and seeing if it truly teaches you the fundamentals of Vev, and if not they should redo them and make a better tutorial/series.

Maybe a video that went in depth with scaling, and just that and what kinds situations or mistakes you could run into and how you could remedy that.

Maybe a video dedicated to all the different things you can do with the Burger menu.

another thing that I would like to see more that is necessarily a negative is an inspiration page or feature for the kinds of animations you can do.

maybe I'm looking at a specific kind of animation that I can implement into valve and I wanted to know how this animation was used elsewhere so maybe I could click on an inspiration button next to that type of animation and I could go to a separate web page that would show me all the different ways it was used on other websites.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev allows me to create a website full of animations that look good with complex control over it that I as a beginner in the web design space can learn easily albeit with some difficulty finding resources to understand it fully.

Some people simply can't wrap their head around WordPress, or want more from the major website builders like wix or squarespace that isn't just a default template or that requires hiring someone.

I think that if there's a website builder that's worth learning and that sensible and that has potential to have the most complexity without it being too difficult, Vev is it.

  ### 25. Full creativity with no restrictions - VEV is a gamechanger for us

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerhard T. | Teamleader Salg, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

FIrst of all, we do not have to think about template restrictions or code. The interface and usability is quite intuitive, with some Adobe flair, so we felt at home right away. Support works fine, you get the answers you need in reasonable time - and even if you are asking simple or stupid questions, the VEV team helps you in a friendly way. For us it is an advantage to be able to download the storys/sites in ZIP files - we are using storytelling a lot on iPADS on trade fares, and with a sketchy wifi and slow mobile connections beeing able to show content offline saved our day a couple of times. We love the 3D module (GLB files) - even if you have to know exactly how to produce the files, once you figured, the result can be spectacular: check out https://a-msi.vev.site/noa-philosophy (GLB model at the bottom of the story).

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Since VEV is charging pr. story published, we lost some potential customers looking for a blog style site - adding USD 5 for each story killed the budget. Aware that many stories can be packed into one, but then things are getting really slow. A solution would be to charge per site.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick and easy production of stories - it is always more powerful to tell a story than listing up advantages and benefits and VEV guides you naturally into this direction. GIves us an edge over the competition, we are looking modern and are communication better.

  ### 26. Build Fast, feature-rich pages, without needing Engineering involved

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oliver B. | Head of Product and Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

It's a feature-rich developer experience similar to Sketch, with easy control over aspects such as flex-box, and its output is a page that is both feature-rich And fast-loading.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It has a learning curve - it wasn't as easy as our Sales VP would've liked. However, it was acceptable for our needs - It's fast, and offers a wide variety of options.

We would have liked to have expanded to use it for our blog (130 pages) and many of our other sales pages (100+), but in its current form, it's not ready – each page needs to be built by hand as it cannot pull data from an external data source like a CMS.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sales wanted to test if a faster-loading page would convert more. They asked for a system that (1) allowed them to easily edit the page and (2) for the page to be fast-loading. Most GUI editors are easy to use (so satisfy 1) but produce bloated and slow pages (so fail 2), whilst manually building a page would likely be fast but difficult to edit for those who lack technical expertise.

  ### 27. Loving the front-end no code capabilities of Vev!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dj S. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The interface is extremely easy to use, the learning curve is easy, and of course as a designer first, the whole approach to no-code is because it merges the gap nicely between developer capabilities and design capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I wish we were able to add in custom fonts prior to paying for the site as a whole. Sometimes clients want to be able to see their designs come to life fully and that is usually before the next milestone is met in contract wise so I usually end up having to pay for the site while it's being developed.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think there's a very straightforward answer which is this: I believe that Vev is solving the problem that many of us designers face and dread when it comes to handing over brand identity, UI prototype, or general brand guidelines to a developer and then the design falling flat because of the lack of knowledge shared between designers and developers.

  ### 28. Great platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Platform works great for customizing webpages without coding

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

We've had a couple of issues connecting vev to our domains but we were able to bypass that.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to create a few web pages that our current website could not emulate.

  ### 29. nice code-free website building tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** A T. | Graphic designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

- no need to learn to code
- good plugins for elements, easy animations etc
- free options are fair

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

- when you don't know how to code you can be limited
- some features aren't working properly
- preview isn't always the same as uploaded website
- almost no support when you are using the free version. Doesn't make me want to switch to paid.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't know how to code and i am a demanding graphic designer / art director, i can do some things really easily on my own.

  ### 30. Getting Better All the Time

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brent M. | Senior Art Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

It's an active experience for the reader. Print is great, and I've been an art director for print for almost 40 years, but print magazine readership and subscribers are slowly going away ... and in some cases, they're quickly going away. So going online, or giving up seems to be the only two choices. And if you're going online, then you need to deliver a compelling experience. I believe one can provide a compelling experience with VEV. You can crank-up the experience and have all kinds of movement (including video) on the screen, or you can go subtle, or even static. You've got choices. Also, VEV manages the software updates, so that's one thing I don't have to worry about or make a separate payment for.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It's s steep learning curve if you're used to thinking "PRINT" only. But I was able to make the transition, and I've been in the print business for 40 years.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to print magazines. The cost of printing, paper and mailing continued to escalate, and our advertiser base has declined. Something needed to give, and giving up wasn't an option. So now we can produce a compelling product, and save the cost of printing, paper and mailing. The answer is an eMagazine published with VEV. And here's another thing, if you made a mistake in print, it's pretty much carved in stone; FOREVER! However, if you make a mistake in a VEV publication, you can quickly make a fix and then republish. Problem solved!!!

  ### 31. Now I can tell scrollytelling stories as seen on NYTimes without developers, coders and designers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mite K. | Executive Director and Head of Media Innovation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

There are other solutions around the web for scrollyteliing but non of them is easier to start and affordable as Vev. I have built my first story without spending tons of time understanding the tools and working environment.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Should have more templates to start with based on the most popular scrollytelling examples. Sometimes I feel that should have been done more for making the whole experience more helpful (more templates, more tools and tutorials) for independent newsrooms and journalists.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is affordable solution for our new storytelling format that we are developing for our audience as a non-profit media and something that we can lately generate revenue from as someone that can bring highly engaging stories.

  ### 32. Vev has fantastic value compared to the other options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vevs features are robust and easy to use. With a well-designed, and responsive UI, it makes creating in Vev a delight.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Vev needs to improve their real time customer service.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Takes the coding out of web design.

  ### 33. Cool Web Builder

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev is easy to start with its user-friendly graphic interface and navigation design.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Troubleshooting can be a little challenging without fully understanding its functionalities under the hood.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev simplifies web design with its versatile toolkits and automation, allowing software developers with limited frontend experience to bootstrap web applications efficiently.

  ### 34. Vev Beginner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I have been using Vev for a little over a year for publishing and it's a convenient way to design and animate web pages without having extensive html coding knowledge. Support staff is helpful when needed, reachable via in-app messenger. Tutorial and training videos have also been helpful, and I look forward to that available library expanding with time.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Sometimes difficult to troubleshoot problems that appear differently in desktop, mobile and tablet views. As I learn more on building pages and templates, my ability to diagnose errors will hopefully improve.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev has been a creative platform my department embraced for publishing monthly issues, a significant jump from traditional print magazines. The pandemic created unexpected financial limitations, and Vev was an opportunity to transition multiple brands from print to digital. Offering animated elements creates a special look for readers, and keeps them engaged with the visual content. It also offers unique opportunities for advertisers, some of who have been slower to transition to all digital media platforms.

  ### 35. Interactive and Dynamic

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Images and videos are designed dynamically. Features are easy to use

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Have lots of bug and sometimes support can't help with the bug. Tracking doesn't function well

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tell better story with Storytelling feature

  ### 36. You can actually make those cool sites you always wanted to make

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Luxury Goods & Jewelry | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I still think that websites can be creative-- VEV lets you access your creativity without getting bogged down in code. All those expensive-looking scrollytelling sites? (think New York Times or Apple) Now you can make those. Quickly and easily! It truly is the only platform of its kind, and it keeps getting better. Their Discord community is very helpful and positive and provides a sense of community and support.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Sometimes it seems to be designed for specific uses, when it really could be used for so much more than business or academic websites. Vev is powerful enough to use for making more than just websites, the features could be used to make interactive media and art as well - maybe even expanded to create VR applications. I'm hoping they expand one day.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I want to be able to tell stories and create atmosphere and mood when introducing my brand. VEV is the only way to do it without hiring expensive teams of programmers and designers. I love the scrollytelling feature and I like to be able to experiment myself without relying on other designers.

  ### 37. Fantastic for building modern campaign sites (with no code experience)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

VEV is easy to use for marketing people with no code experience. I have been working a lot in VEV for the last 6 months and I can quickly make modern-looking campaign sites with all the elements that I need. I love that it is intuitive and has a good user experience. It is great fun to explore all the possibilities within VEV. It is easy to showcase video and audio which is important for us to create a vibrant site.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I would wish there were easy access to Pardot forms (Salesforce B2B email marketing system). I have seen that there are Marketo forms. But I am sure that it could easily be fixed if we asked for it (and we might do that). There is not much to complain about. I am very happy to use VEV.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to be able to make campaign sites for marketing purposes easy and fast and with no code experience. It should be easy to learn and multiple people in our organization need access to building/designing and keeping the sites updated. That is all possible with VEV. We had a big wish to include video and audio and permission sign-up, which was not possible in our current solution, so being able to do that in VEV is perfect for us.

  ### 38. Great! Simple and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Preston L. | UI UX Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Baked in animation and other tools made it very easy to build a marketing web page but it can be used for many types of pages! I completed building my marketing page after only 8 hours!

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It's pretty new do there may not be the features you're looking for but they seem to be adding features fairly recently. If you know how to code you can also just code the feature that is missing.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me (UI UX designer) to build a marketing page without the development team manually building it. This saved us a lot of time. It is also very simple to modify and edit in the future.

  ### 39. Very dynamic platform, needs more testing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev's capabilities for interactive storytelling are very exciting—typewriter text, click to expand, scrollytelling blocks, etc—which is why we went with the platform. We can make content-first landing pages fairly quickly and bring our editorial to life with their features. I love being able to adapt content for viewports.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

We were one of the early users and had to rely on chat a lot for features that weren't working or malfunctioning. When they push updates live, our older pages get impacted and we have to redesign components sometimes. I would also love to see more image gallery options.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Interactive storytelling and adding dynamism to our static website.

  ### 40. A powerful platform for making good websites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hanna E. | Graphic designer/web designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The most helpful thing in vev is the possibilities to design without limitations, and also having a lot of pre made functions that are amazing to use.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

There are some bugs from time to time, but with great help from the online support, there's usually a sulution.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Its a great designtool for making engaging stories, and its easy to make great designs

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Designing engaging articles that people actually like to read through. Also designing on web without coding. Minimum limitations when designing.

  ### 41. Vev is a great solution for designers who want to focus on visual / user experience and not code.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah Z. | Senior Art Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

What's most helpful about Vev is the design-first programming - visual professionals can create a solid user experience without worrying about coding, then enhance the experience further with add-ons.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The downside is that the program is still developing rapidly, which on the surface is great, but does tend to cause confusion with the processes already learned.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to create visually impactful digital experiences with engaging user interactive elements - and for our advertisers, we need the added benefit of analytics.

  ### 42. Perfect way to make webdesigns for someone who don't understand code.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David Gustavsen T. | Visuell lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Layers! As we know it from photoshop. That mindset is very nice to work with.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I still miss some functions. Like keyframing. What would make animation even better.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can picture a design in my head, and it's easy to create it in Vev!

  ### 43. Nothing but positive thus far, my only gripe is with the load time

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio W. | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The ease of use plus the drag-and-drop ability are my favorites.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

The load times can be slow at times. I wish there was a built-in optimization tool.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to house multiple projects and websites in one place is very helpful

  ### 44. Great tool for telling visual stories.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas N. | Digital Media Program Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Vev has a lot of well-designed features that make stories come to life. The customer service team is also extremely helpful and always willing to answer questions and assist.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I wish there was more integration between different projects in Vev to share image libraries or linking between two projects.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vev is always updating their Editor and seems to be consistently adding new features to address concerns or give us a way to design stories in an exciting way.

  ### 45. Surely a gem with a need for a few tweaks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caroline M. | Timeansatt, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I like how it is easy and fun to explore around. The fact that it is free to use is fantastic and also perfect for building a portfolio. I haven´t tried any competitors. However, I will most likely stick to Vev.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

What is annoying about Vev is that the preview effect isn´t the same as it displays on the website. I have to rely on publishing the project to see if it looks good, so I hope Vev will fix this. Also, I´m not sure if it actually is possible, but I do miss sounds playing automatically rather than you having to click on the sound button.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a student in Norway, studying TV- and multimedia production. We had a school assignment where we got to use Vev, and that´s where I fell in love. I am currently using this in my bachelor's. I am also using Vev to present a pitch in one of our subjects this semester. I believe Vev is fantastic to use for presentations at Uni, especially if you are into content creation.

  ### 46. It's a very useful platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Igor P. | Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I like the support on Discord and the team that is always ready to help.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Sometimes there are issues with animations and the videos that don't run.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can save time in development.

  ### 47. I think the design editor is easy to understand, and powerful when you want to do something complex.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diego S. | Software Engineer, and SEO and SEM manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

The responsive design breakpoints are ready to use, so you don’t have to change anything to have a responsive site.

And if you made some changes to your web design on production, you can see the results so fast on the release version. Also, when you visit the roadmap page, is interesting to see what they’re working on.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

I want more customization to grid items, such as changing the item point cursor color, or sometimes the hover animations are slow (but it depends on the device).

But I don’t want to lie; it has impressed me that Vev is SEO-friendly, not only with the text, even the images are indexable.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

I saw recently you added integration with Figma, and I’m more active on Adobe Xd. So I’ll be glad If you integrate Vev with Xd to export my designs.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, it at least takes me around 1 hour to solve my issues display products on a grid.

Their pre-build features are so simple to handle and beautiful. Also, on their YouTube channel, you may find helpful tutorials made by Vev’s team.

  ### 48. A wide range of possibilities doesn't make it hard to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mia W. | Creative Content Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

I like the amount of possibilities with vev. There's always a solution to what I want to communicate, which means that the information our clients want to give off to our readers can always be presented in the best possible way.

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Vev has done a lot of updates on features and layout - which all work fine once you learn what they mean. That process can sometimes be a little difficult - especially if you're in the middle of a project when the updates take effect. It doesn't harm your project - it just means that you suddenly have to adjust.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are creating native advertising, and sometimes it can be difficult to aline our view of good content with the amount of information that the client wants to get out there. Vev can definitely help with this because it provides so many different ways to present content, so it seems less invasive when a client wants 3 fact boxes and several various links.

  ### 49. Couldn't get easier to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

Great interface, Couldn't get easier to use!
Awesome performance and excellent support, it really make our business easier to manage, we can focus on new projects using all the tools that Vev brings!

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

It would be great if create some startups solutions and offers, or create a middle plan that help startups or agencies (or developers) to grow step by step as their business grows.

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great tools and you can adapt and use them with ease, with the predefined solutions almost all the work is done, we just needed to put our content and a few adjustsments.

  ### 50. Best page builder i experienced

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bart S. | Business Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Vev?**

As designer i want to place text, icons, images on the place i want without the hassle of editing code. In VEV i can place where i want it and it will appear exact there. Great job

**What do you dislike about Vev?**

Only what i miss in VEV is a way to build forms, you still need a 3rd party for that. I hope they can include that in the next updates. For the rest i don't notice any dislikes, it just work great.

**Recommendations to others considering Vev:**

Try it you will be working with nothing else then Vev

**What problems is Vev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Positioning of elements is no problem within VEV. If a client want to see that you place everything a little bit different you don't need to have knowledge of any code, just move it in the editor and ready. Client can also adjust the content without "damaging" the layout.
