## Vectorworks Landmark Reviews
 ### 1. Vectorworks Landmark: Powerful Landscape Design with Seamless 2D/3D and Planting Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scot F. | Landscape Designer & Sales Representative, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Vectorworks Landmark has become one of my favorite tools for landscape design and planning. What I appreciate most about the program is how well it blends creative design freedom with practical, real-world functionality. It allows me to move smoothly from conceptual layouts to detailed construction drawings without needing to jump between multiple programs.
The plant database and planting tools are a huge advantage. They make it easy to create detailed, accurate planting plans while keeping schedules and quantities organized automatically. I also really value the grading, site modeling, and hardscape tools — they help visualize complex outdoor spaces clearly and allow for precise adjustments throughout the design process.
Another thing I love about Vectorworks Landmark is the ability to produce professional-quality visuals directly from the model. Whether I’m presenting to clients or coordinating with contractors, the 2D and 3D integration helps communicate ideas in a way that’s both clear and visually engaging.
Like any powerful software, there is a learning curve, but once you get comfortable with the workflow, it becomes an incredibly efficient and flexible platform. Overall, Vectorworks Landmark has significantly improved both my design process and the quality of the plans I deliver.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

While Vectorworks Landmark is a very powerful design platform, there are a few areas where I think it could improve. One of the biggest challenges is the learning curve. The software has a lot of depth, which is great long-term, but it can feel overwhelming at first — especially when trying to understand the workflow between 2D drafting, site modeling, and plant tools.
Performance can also be an issue at times, particularly with larger files or detailed 3D models. As projects grow in size and complexity, I’ve noticed the program can slow down, which can interrupt the design flow.
Another area that could be improved is the interface and menu organization. Some tools feel buried or inconsistent, and it can take extra clicks to find common commands. Streamlining the user experience would make everyday tasks faster and more intuitive.
Lastly, while the plant and landscape-specific tools are extremely useful, certain automated features still require manual adjustments to get construction-ready results. It’s not a deal breaker, but it does add extra time to the documentation process.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest improvements Vectorworks Landmark brought to our workflow was the ability to support multiple users working within the same system. Before switching, coordinating drawings between team members was time-consuming and often led to version control issues. With a properly set up shared project environment, collaboration became much smoother, allowing designers and production staff to work more efficiently without constantly duplicating or overwriting files.
Another major benefit was getting our design and documentation process organized into one cohesive platform. Once the system was set up correctly — including templates, plant libraries, and standardized layers and classes — it created consistency across all of our projects. That structure has helped reduce drafting errors, improved team communication, and made it easier to maintain quality control from concept through construction drawings.
Vectorworks also helped bridge the gap between design and production. Instead of redesigning or recreating information multiple times, we’re able to carry information through the entire process — from site modeling and planting plans to detailed layouts and presentations — which has saved time and reduced redundancy.

**Official Response from Elena Pantazopoulos:**

> Thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed review. It’s wonderful to hear how Vectorworks Landmark supports your full landscape workflow, and that the integrated 2D/3D environment and collaboration setup have improved both efficiency and the quality and consistency of your deliverables. ### 2. Seamless 2D/3D Integration, Effortless File Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew R.

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I really appreciate how integrated the program is. Being able to directly port to Lumion and D5 allows for seamless workflows. Additionally, I appreciate the landform modeling tools that make it simple to model the earth that our design sits on and use those grades to our advantage. Vectorworks Landmark is great for modeling, and with the integration into programs like D5 and Lumion, the ability to render our work makes selling the project so much easier. The initial setup was very easy with prior experience, and the onboarding team helped a lot.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I think expanding the Resource Manager to include more branded products that get used very often like Blaze brand grills and cabinets and Pergolux pergolas. As well as possibly making the UI of the Resource Manager better for finding these models and previewing them before loading them into the model. Making the previews bigger and easier to see/understand and grouping the product in ways that don't overstimulate the user. I find myself using the search bar more often than not and if I do not search the right things it limits the amount of product I see.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vectorworks Landmark lets us use 2D and 3D aspects simultaneously, making design and file management efficient. With integration into D5 and Lumion, it's easier to render and sell projects. The landform modeling tools simplify modeling earth and using grades to our advantage.

**Official Response from Elena Pantazopoulos:**

> Thank you for sharing such a detailed review. It’s great to hear that Vectorworks Landmark’s integrated 2D/3D workflows, landform modeling tools, and connections to tools like Lumion and D5 are helping you design, manage files efficiently, and present projects more effectively. We also hear your suggestions about expanding and refining the Resource Manager, including more commonly used branded products and improving how content is organized and previewed, and we appreciate you highlighting these ideas for future improvements.

 ### 3. Intuitive Design Tool with Powerful Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Annabel B. | Garden Designer

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I really like that Vectorworks Landmark is easy to use, though sometimes there are multiple ways to do the same thing, which can be a bit confusing. One feature I find really useful is how you can perform calibrations like length or level adjustments, where if you input figures like 100 plus 200, it automatically knows to make it 300. This is especially handy when working on steps, levels, and extrusions.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I think there's sometimes too many different ways to do the same thing, which can be a bit confusing. There's so much to it that sometimes it feels like only scratching the surface, even though I consider myself quite proficient. When modelling sloping gardens it doesn't work brilliantly. You can end up with areas which don't meet and this looks really untidy and unprofessional.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Vectorworks Landmark easier and more accurate than doing designs on paper, and it provides a schedule of plants and materials. Now I'm good at it, it speeds up my work flow. Clients love to see what their space will be like ot be in so the modelling capabilities are really good.

**Official Response from Elena Pantazopoulos:**

> Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. It’s great to hear that Vectorworks Landmark supports your workflow. We hear your comments about overlapping methods and the challenges of modeling sloping gardens, and we appreciate you highlighting where the experience could feel clearer and more polished. Additionally, we encourage you to visit our Product Roadmap to explore what’s coming next and to suggest ideas that will improve your workflow.

 ### 4. Great for Landscape Design, Needs Stability Improvements

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Conner H. | Landscape Architect

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I find the parametric/BIM tools in Vectorworks Landmark really useful, especially how they allow different elements to interact, like controlling plants, graphics, and soil volume with one object while conforming to the site's grade. I also appreciate how easy 2D drafting is, particularly with features like curve drafting and boolean commands such as add or clip surface, which feel like a significant upgrade over AutoCAD's 2D drafting methods.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

It drives me crazy how updates constantly are breaking other things, and the focus seems to be on A.I./new tools and not fixing/refining existing tools. Text formatting is also far behind the rest of the program.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vectorworks Landmark to produce schematic and technical landscape drawings. It solves the antiquated drafting style of AutoCAD, offers useful tools for landscape architects, and integrates features like controlling plants and soil volume. The 2D/3D drafting and price also support our collaboration with architects.

**Official Response from Elena Pantazopoulos:**

> Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback. It’s great to hear that the parametric/BIM tools and 2D drafting capabilities in Vectorworks Landmark are supporting your landscape work and collaboration with architects. We also hear your concerns about update stability, the balance between new features and refinements, and text formatting, and we appreciate you calling out these areas where the experience can be improved.

**Reviewed by:** Caitlyn V.

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I use Vectorworks Landmark for landscape architecture designs and appreciate the ability to create plans that can easily switch between illustrative and construction drawings. I like the ease of changing classes to achieve the intended graphic quality using hatches, fills, and line types. Additionally, it saves time by allowing me to produce illustrative drawings in the same software as the CAD linework, rather than importing linework into another software like Photoshop. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I find the 3D tools in Vectorworks Landmark not as user-friendly as I'd like. It's straightforward to do simple tasks like extruding a shape, but editing those shapes afterward is really challenging.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vectorworks Landmark lets me create plans that easily switch between illustrative and construction drawings. It saves me time by producing both illustrative drawings and CAD linework in the same software, avoiding the need to import into Photoshop.

It's a professional and efficient way to present design concepts

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

The symbols could be better more complex.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing categories lists for plants, tagging and systems.

**Official Response from Elena Pantazopoulos:**

> Thank you for your review. ### 24. Technical landscape drawing with amazing simplifying tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tess F. | Landscape Architectural Technologist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I have used this program almost daily (workdays mainly) for 16.5 years. It is a complex and powerful program geared towards making landscape drawings easy. It includes a number of features to help take off quantities, lengths, areas, volumes, plant numbers, etc. It has access to large databases of information regarding plants (and other objects). Built-in worksheets allow calculations to take quantities from the drawings and are easy to update with a click if the drawing changes, or alternative options need to be compared. It has powerful 3D features that allow 3D renders, and links directly to Twinmotion to make these more interesting and to add decorative elements and some degree of animation for presentations. All this is fairly intuitive, and it is fun exploring new features and alternative ways to achieve desired results. Knowledge of hot keys can speed up work significantly. It converts from and to a remarkable number of formats.
I have found so many useful tutorials online to guide me through things I am not familiar with, and Tech Support usually comes through very well. Very active online forums also allow one to find custom scripts for a variety of functions.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

The program crashes - not often, but too often for me (then again never would be my preference). There are some things which could be done a bit more effectively - but Vectorworks has a wishlist through support which might bring in these options later.
Soil volume takeoffs should be simpler. It seems very complex to build a site to caluculate cut and fill volumes, to rough and final grades, but that might be my ignorance.
Conversion to and from AutoCAD, while remarkably smooth for such a complex operation, could be smoother. Part of that is lack of equivalent object in AutoCAD, and the use of layer in AutoCAD being limited to Vectorworks classes, and no equivalent for Vectorworks layers.
It is not (yet) as widely accepted as AutoCAD, though I find it a far superior program, Many resource sites are starting to offer Vectorworks objects in addition to AutoCAD, Sketchup and PDF, so this is improving.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy placement of plants, easy changes to plants and sites, easy access to plant information, plant tracking, site layout, rendering in 3D.
Use of layers to model different options within the same file, easy ability to put the different options in viewports for comparison.
Object tracking in general, worksheets for plan counts, info display, area, volume and other calculations.

**Official Response from Laura Bucci:**

> Hi Tess - Thank you for sharing how Vectorworks Landmark has supported your workflow for over 16 years. If you have any ideas for improvements, we encourage you to visit our Public Roadmap at vectorworks.net/public-roadmap. There, you can submit your suggestions and stay updated on the features that are currently in development.

 ### 25. Great Quality & Super Handy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

The illustrations are clean, detailed, and super easy to work with. Perfect for my travel-themed designs.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

The only downside for me was the learning curve—there’s a lot to take in at first, and it took some time to feel confident using all the features.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a graphic designer working on landscape-related projects, Vectorworks Landmark helps me bridge the gap between technical site data and visually polished presentations. It allows me to create accurate, scaled plans and 3D visuals, while still giving me the flexibility to style and customize graphics for client presentations, marketing materials, or reports. It saves me time switching between CAD tools and design software, and helps me deliver both precision and creativity in one workflow.

 ### 26. Goood software, but need to try harder with your captive audience (Pay per month/year etc.)

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Quality software that handles curves, none straight lines well.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Not user friendly enough when using all the functions. Nothing like as easy to use as other modern software is now.

Need to work far harder on the updates, especially with the license's being paid via the lease scheme now.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Designing gardens and displaying my ideas to clients

**Official Response from Elena Pantazopoulos:**

> Thank you for sharing your perspective. We’re glad to hear that Vectorworks Landmark supports your garden design work and helps you present ideas clearly to clients. We also appreciate your candid feedback about usability, updates, and the shift to a licensing model — input like yours is important as we continue working to make the software more intuitive and to deliver improvements that match the investment you’re making.

 ### 27. Learn alone

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sabrina S. | Surveyer & plan conceptor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I like that we have access to a lot of video and content when I have questions.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I don't like that all the information is not really clear.

it seem like all the important information to help us learn how to use it, we have to pay for it. if you have questions, no one wants to answer you, we only send you and template email refering to vectorworks university or offer you to paid one on one training where the teacher as no spot available in his calendar.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For now, nothing.

The purpose of us using it, would be to offer 3D plan to our customer and give our foreman a clearer plan to excute the job site.

**Official Response from Laura Bucci:**

> Hi Sabrina, we're happy to hear you're finding the video content useful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on our online resources and training—we’re continually striving to improve, and we appreciate your feedback!

 ### 28. Vectorworks Landmark Critique

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

That it integrates site analysis, conceptual tools 3D capabilities and documentation not only in one app but in one file. Careful and consise modeling will allow you to have an easier time down stream in documentation.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

At least with the amount of time I have been using the app, I find the learning curve to be really steep. I haven't had formal training which would probably help that curve, but I have been using AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe apps and Structure Studio and this has been by far the hardest app to get proficinent at.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been good to have an integrated program that I can develop early concepts, build a model that can be presented and then roll that into documentation.

**Official Response from Laura Bucci:**

> Hi, it's good to hear that Vectorworks Landmark is streamlining your workflow. We understand the learning curve can be challenging, and we’re always working to improve the user experience. Keep exploring, and we appreciate your insights!

being able to create accurate takeoffs and reports from the design, saving time.

**Official Response from Laura Bucci:**

> Hi Tristan, we're glad to hear that you find our dedicated tools for landscape design helpful and appreciate our regular updates and customer support.

 ### 31. VW & their engineers need to collaborate with those who typically use it & have creative minds.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bradley B. | Director Bradley Burgess Design , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Designers use their right hemisphere and are known as innovative people are considered "right-brain thinkers"! Whilst the software is clearly written/coded/updated by engineers who are "left-brain thinkers" abd are thought to be analytical and logical. There's a complete disconnect between those, who make the software and those who use it. I believe VectorWorks needs to simplify the software and collaborate with those who use it. Typically there are 2 or 3 ways to produce one action which both confusing and unnecessary. SketchUp and Shoot are straightforward to use and I believe VectorWorks need to take note from their competitors and use this consructive feedback to make it logical for us creatives.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

The customer service is fantastic and I feel awkward writing this review, however, I feel it is constructive advice. Having recently completed the 2024 updates course in Newbury, I felt it important to follow up with a review which will help both VectorWorks and its customers.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Presentation and quantifying.

**Official Response from Tyler French:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience and suggestions. We are glad to hear that you had a positive experience with our customer service.

We will take your feedback into account, in fact, we are currently developing a focus group which will enable our users to have a direct impact on the way in which we develop and think about future updates. ### 33. a mission-critical tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danilo M. | President Elect, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

The best feature of VW Landmark is its ability to generate sumultaneous 2D and 3D drawings, eliminating the need to transfer files back and forth between applications. This is especially helpful when revisions are being made. I also appreciate the ability to create renders directly inside the software.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

There are certain tools that take a while to master, and even when I think I have they will still throw me a curve. This can be especially challenging with new hires who have not used the software before, but VW has excellent product support and trainging resources to ease this challenge.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software is excellent for managing information and being able to report it in ways that help clarify our designs. This is especially true for plant information and photos that we can add to our documents.

**Official Response from Tyler French:**

> Hi Danilo, thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. It's great to hear that Vectorworks Landmark is helping you manage and report information effectively, especially for plant information and document visuals. **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy R W. | Principal Landscape Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I love being able to take my 2d drawinga and pop it up into 3d view to review my designs. It is very helpful to see how walls, plants, patios look in the 3d view.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

It was a little difficult to learn and there are some glithces. Also, I wish I could count plants without having to execute a plant schedule. I can't just select all of one plant group and have VWX tell many how many plants there are when I'm in the design layer.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to provide 3d views and renderings to clients and for myself.

**Official Response from Laura Bucci:**

> Hi Amy, it’s great to know that 3D views are helping you evaluate your designs. If you have ideas for improvements, we recommend checking out our Public Roadmap (vectorworks.net/public-roadmap), where you can submit suggestions and see updates on features in development.

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Robust software for the professional to produce high-end quality work presentations and CAD based makes it versatile to work with other industry pros.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

It's more difficult to move from 2D to 3D than other landscape software.

Beautiful high-end designs help sell the high-end project.

**Official Response from Laura Bucci:**

> Hi, it’s wonderful to know that Vectorworks Landmark is assisting you in creating impressive presentations. We recognize that the transition from 2D to 3D can be difficult, and we are continually striving to enhance the experience.

 ### 36. Incredibly powerful software for landscape design, automated workflows, 3D and rendering, schedules

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Automatic schedules for plants, materials, hardscape and software areas means Bill of Quantities are generated for you eliminating mistakes in totalling bill of quantities

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

This software has a huge array of options and functions which can be difficult to learn without specific instruction tailored to you needs. Though the advantage is you will learn ways to use it you didn't think possible and get that training cost and time back in productivity very quickly.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Drafting tool with powerful tools for complete project information in published work

**Official Response from Tyler French:**

> Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that you find Vectorworks Landmark helpful in your design workflow. If you have any questions or are interested to learn about training opportunities, please email us at training@vectorworks.net.

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Creating planting plans is easy and quick, with reports that are easy to personalise

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

The fence tool isn't as flexible as I would like

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You draw everything once so there aren't multiple copies. Many things you draw are both 2d and 3d objects so you can be creating your 3d visuals as you are drawing your 2d plan. Then you can section your plan to get your detail plans

**Official Response from Tyler French:**

> Thank you for your review. We're happy to hear you find Vectorworks Landmark powerful and easy to use for creating planting plans and personalized reports.

If you'd like to get in touch regarding how you feel the fence tool could be improved, please email us at landmark@vectorworks.net.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James D. | Landscape Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I have used Vectorworks for 11 years as a landscape architect. The standout feature us the use of intelligent plant symbols.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

No real downside. If I were to be critical, the one feature missing is the ability to auto link a plant object to a particular class and layer.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us communicate clearly the design to a client.

**Official Response from Tyler French:**

> Thank you for your review! It's great to hear that Vectorworks Landmark has been instrumental in helping you communicate your designs clearly to clients.

All-in-One Software. Number of Features. Best BIM for Landscape Architects. Great for CAD 2D drawings.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Cooperations with other programs (it works but not ideal). Very complex (it does not derive primarily from landscape architecture software).

 ### 40. The product has great potential but too many shortfalls to be effective and perform as advertised

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

a lot of really great features (potentially) and set up with LA workflow in mind.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

it is too difficult to get the wide array of tools to work as expected. it works fine for 2D drafting as a replacement for autocad but the 3D modeling and grading tools are very cumbersome and not straightforward. many bugs and glitches prevented progress. the integration training is not targeted to meet the goals of the firm using the software.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

in theory the tools available are exactly what LAs need to move into BIM....in practice they are glitchy, not customizable, and prevent a full hybrid 2D/3D workflow.

**Official Response from Tyler French:**

> Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We hear your concerns and are committed to improving your user experience. Could you please email landmark@vectorworks.net so we can more directly address your firm's workflow and find a solution?

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Termination of new perpetual licenses. Missing some tools or features that have been on the wish list for a long time.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

After some time of use and some adjustments, we can do most of the tasks in the VW

**Official Response from Tyler French:**

 ### 45. New discovery of a great tool for fast modelling

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laurence C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I love the pre-designed elements that make it very easy to have a good overview of a project with detailing, dimensions, line weight all embedded within the components you chose from the catalog

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I dislike the fact that as you chose prefab components, they are very difficult to edit. You cannot customize most of them or if you do it is highly complicated to have them edited both in 2d and in 3d. I have not yet found a good workflow with non traditional designs.

**Recommendations to others considering Vectorworks Landmark:**

This software does not have an plugin option to add python or scripting which is probably lacking. I feel like Revit and Rhino and other very good softwares to use with a greater learning curve and move possibilities but I love the graphics and ease of use of Vectorworks. The fact that there are different graphic style is definitely a plus when considering to use it because you do not need to render on top of Vectorworks (generally).

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love the furniture and plant selection. I also love the detailing of construction within the components, especially the layers and their graphic equivalent and thickness. It saves me so much time. Also once you model is done, creating sections is so easy. I love that.

 ### 46. Great Features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Vectoroworks can not only be used for landscape design but also for advertising content. Its a great way to edit photos and create new documents if you do not have adobe editor

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

I dislike how you can't export large files. There are times I would create an image I wanted to export, but when i went to just select a section to export it would be too large.

**Recommendations to others considering Vectorworks Landmark:**

I would learn AutoCAD first then transition to this product once you are ready

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its not really solving business problems since its a design software. It is our main software for design, so we use it as a sales tool.

 ### 47. Intuitive CAD program for Landscape Architects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared V. | Landscape Architect, Architecture & Planning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Landmark is an easy to use CAD software that is compatible with other CAD programs, which allows for collaboration with other professionals, and also has great rendering capabilities to generate legible plans. Great tech support, too! The program is set up differently than AutoCad, but once the structure of the program is figured out, its fairly easy to take it from there. Importing other files types has been easy, too, such as adding aerial photos, pdf or jpeg images as backgrounds and supplemental information on the sheet. Its nice to be able to lay everything out in one program and be able to seamlessly update the plans as changes are made.

**What do you dislike about Vectorworks Landmark?**

Getting other CAD files to import properly can be challenging. CAD blocks need to be exploded to get the basic line work to be modified in some cases. I have had some issues with large files crashing, but there are a lot of program updates that keep the software working and compatible with other software.

**Recommendations to others considering Vectorworks Landmark:**

Give it time to learn the software and utilize tech support to help figure it out. There was a steep learning curve at first until I figured out the organization of the program, but from there its mostly intuitive.

**What problems is Vectorworks Landmark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Landmark tools are really easy to use to draft and design. Even the basic tool set allows for a lot of flexibility in designing even organic shapes and hard geometry. There are a lot of options to render drawings- adding transparent hatches and colors to add texture and value to an otherwise black and white drawing. The sheet layers and view ports work really well for creating and managing multiple drawings for complex projects.
