Vectorworks Landmark has become one of my favorite tools for landscape design and planning. What I appreciate most about the program is how well it blends creative design freedom with practical, real-world functionality. It allows me to move smoothly from conceptual layouts to detailed construction drawings without needing to jump between multiple programs.
The plant database and planting tools are a huge advantage. They make it easy to create detailed, accurate planting plans while keeping schedules and quantities organized automatically. I also really value the grading, site modeling, and hardscape tools — they help visualize complex outdoor spaces clearly and allow for precise adjustments throughout the design process.
Another thing I love about Vectorworks Landmark is the ability to produce professional-quality visuals directly from the model. Whether I’m presenting to clients or coordinating with contractors, the 2D and 3D integration helps communicate ideas in a way that’s both clear and visually engaging.
Like any powerful software, there is a learning curve, but once you get comfortable with the workflow, it becomes an incredibly efficient and flexible platform. Overall, Vectorworks Landmark has significantly improved both my design process and the quality of the plans I deliver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Vectorworks Landmark is a very powerful design platform, there are a few areas where I think it could improve. One of the biggest challenges is the learning curve. The software has a lot of depth, which is great long-term, but it can feel overwhelming at first — especially when trying to understand the workflow between 2D drafting, site modeling, and plant tools.
Performance can also be an issue at times, particularly with larger files or detailed 3D models. As projects grow in size and complexity, I’ve noticed the program can slow down, which can interrupt the design flow.
Another area that could be improved is the interface and menu organization. Some tools feel buried or inconsistent, and it can take extra clicks to find common commands. Streamlining the user experience would make everyday tasks faster and more intuitive.
Lastly, while the plant and landscape-specific tools are extremely useful, certain automated features still require manual adjustments to get construction-ready results. It’s not a deal breaker, but it does add extra time to the documentation process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
