That's the core value versus a spreadsheet-and-screenshots approach. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** Noisy native tests. False positives and tests that flag on trivial drift generate alert fatigue. You already hit this. It's why you replaced the native PR approval test with a custom check (CC-CHG-1). Rigid native connectors. When a native integration doesn't model your data the way you need, you're forced into custom connector work (your LangSmith sync) or manual document uploads. The abstraction leaks fast for anything non-standard. Manual evidence lifecycle. Documents expire and need re-upload on a schedule, which is why processes like the CC-MON-6 monthly renewal exist. I really like the audit tracker where we can communicate with our audit team back and forth. I also like the tests tab where we can see how we're doing and filter it based on different compliances like SOC 2 or HIPAA. I like that everything is combined into one space. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** Sometimes when I'm trying to remediate outstanding tests on Vanta, I think there's an annoying workaround with how to actually resolve them. On the page itself, there's a button for deactivate. But, otherwise, I have to click the three dots and go to a different window where I can actually try to address the problem itself. I wish that it could be more cohesive in one space so I wouldn't have to switch back and forth between windows. I also wish there was a different way of assigning tasks to different groups. I found it quite annoying that it was restrictive - when you create a group, they can only follow that specific list of tasks, so if you wanted any of the tasks members to have a slightly different approach, then you had to create a new group. It was just not very intuitive with not being able to have overlapping groups or overlapping tasks where people can be linked to different task groups and have different tasks shared amongst them. I also feel like for the audit, there was a little bit of an annoyance in terms of where the information was stored. Like, you had to go to a separate audit view, and it was a little bit unclear where you should be submitting things as complete or not. It makes it easy to check any control or evidence required for compliance, and helps resolve vulnerabilities and core changes. Vanta is valuable for integrating with our vendors and maintaining our repository and access controls. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** I think they could improve Vanta by integrating AI features. It would be helpful if the evidence collected could be tested on the vendor without needing an auditor or third party. This would give us better visibility and understanding of the uploads. Also, the initial setup was pretty hard, although we had vendor support. Now it's easier, but it was a bit challenging initially to know how Vanta is useful and how to use it effectively. **What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Vanta for compliance with SOC 2 and other standards, vendor monitoring, managing changes, vulnerabilities, and maintaining evidence and access. The ability to centralize documentation, tests, evidence, and templates needed for the ISO process while directly connecting most of our systems to the platform is incredibly helpful. The integration with a lot of other tools is also a major advantage, as it brings core processes together into a single system, saving us a lot of time and making various tasks visible that would otherwise demand significant resources for reporting. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** Their document editing/view/exporting system is kind of terrible. The docs lose all structure when exported and sometimes you just need to get a list in a spreadsheet to do rapid edits. Their table feature in doc is missing simple things like insert X rows, instead it's row by row. The AI is sometimes kind of dumb although it's getting better. Their in house training courses are a bit old and they could do with adding more / updating. The filtering on table views in various places is also hot garbage. Columns you would need to sort and filter are fixed. Honestly it's just bizarre. Going through the ISO docs cold with no training was very confusing and not trivial, we didn't have any experience of the standard.
