  ### 1. UpSlide Makes Corporate-Style Decks Fast with Smart Linking and Slide Libraries

**What do you like best about UpSlide?**

1. The Office layout solutions. UpSlide makes it extremely easy to convert tables and charts into full corporate design with a single click, automatically applying the correct colours, fonts, and styles. This saves so much time when creating client or management presentations.

2. The linking solutions. This includes text links, which allow PowerPoint and Word documents to update automatically from an Excel source. In addition, our department updates thousands of league tables in PowerPoint every month. These are connected to the league-table Excel file in a very smart way, because UpSlide’s linking remains intact regardless of the file name or the file location. This makes sharing files seamless and ensures all links stay functional.

3. The PowerPoint library solutions. Here you can pick and choose single slides or standard decks available for all or for a predefined group of licence holders; private library sections for sensitive data are also possible. My clear favourite is the easy access to our tombstone database, which was set up with support from the UpSlide team. Everyone in the bank with an UpSlide licence can quickly browse, filter, and select tombstones across all products, countries, and sectors.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

This is hard to answer, as there are no real pain points. However, I would appreciate it if links from Excel to another Excel file (not only from Excel to PowerPoint or Word) were also possible. This would be extremely helpful, as such links – when created without any UpSlide functionality – are still sensitive to file location and file name changes.

**What problems is UpSlide solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UpSlide has helped solve several long-standing issues in my professional life at the bank. 

In former times, when I worked in Marketing & Communications, we for example had a long-running internal project to build an automated tombstone database to showcase our investment banking deals in a consistent format with logos and key details. Because of the bank’s long history of mergers, our tombstone requirements were extremely complex across different products, which is why that internal project never really succeeded. For many years, we continued to create our tombstones manually in PowerPoint. 

Many years later, after I moved into the business side, I had the opportunity to work closely with the UpSlide team — and they finally made this tombstone database a reality. Multiple users from different teams and locations can now input tombstone data, and the UpSlide team managed to transform all that data into standardised tombstone formats that meet all our complex requirements. Now everyone with an UpSlide licence has access to the full tombstone library across all products, countries, and sectors. You can search by year, client name, product features, and more. No need to ask around for updated tombstones before client or management presentations — everything is already there, centralised and consistent. After decades of manual production, this was (and still is) a huge relief.

**What do you like best about UpSlide?**

We currently use UpSlide extensively to upload graphs from Excel to PowerPoint. Our entire market pitch is built with UpSlide‑linked graphs, which makes updating extremely easy and saves us a significant amount of time.
In addition, I also used UpSlide at my former employer (a large German bank) to create Tombstones and to connect Excel graphs. For these use cases, it is one of the best tools I have worked with so far.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

I’m not a big fan of the fact that the graphs are uploaded in image format, as it makes it difficult to resize them properly afterward. We often change the slide layout and need the graph to be larger or smaller, so having to reupload it every time is not very convenient. Other than that, I have no negative comments about the tool.

**What problems is UpSlide solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UpSlide generates precise Tombstones for our bank, which makes our daily work much easier and more convenient. We use these Tombstones to showcase our achievements, but until now the process required copying, pasting, and manually resizing them from a PPT presentation. With the new Tombstone library, we can insert the Tombstones directly into any pitch in the exact size and format we need. This not only saves time but also ensures that everyone uses a consistent layout.

**What do you like best about UpSlide?**

Product is very easy to use and is explained very well by the customer service team. I appreciate that the team is always there to help with any questions / bring up new features.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

The least helpful features of Upslide based on feedback from our team would be the formatting features, mainly due to a lack of using it. I think this is something we could use a refresh / update as we work to use more tools in Upslide.

**What problems is UpSlide solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UpSlide is helping us solve tombstone creation, which has been very manual in the past. It is benefitting us tremendously by housing all tombstones in a central location and helps us improve our process on gathering details needed to create tombstones. Shout out to the team for the ease of the process, even with staff changes occurring!

UpSlide meaningfully improves how we work in PowerPoint and Excel.
The Excel‑to‑PowerPoint linking is the biggest value add, it lets us update charts and tables instantly without reformatting, which saves real time on every deck. The built‑in formatting and branded templates also ensure consistency across teams with minimal effort. An unexpected benefit has been how much it’s reduced last‑minute presentation clean‑ups before client meetings.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

Some Excel formatting actions applied via UpSlide can’t be undone using Excel’s native Undo function, which can interrupt workflow if changes need to be reversed. Improved Undo support or a preview step would significantly enhance usability.

**What problems is UpSlide solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UpSlide solves the inefficiency and risk that come with heavy PowerPoint and Excel usage in a fast‑paced environment.
The tight Excel‑to‑PowerPoint integration removes manual updating and reformatting, which significantly reduces errors and saves time. The interface feels intuitive once set up, and the formatting tools and templates make it much easier to keep outputs consistent without slowing the workflow. Performance has been solid even with large, data‑heavy decks. From a cost perspective, the time saved across the team more than justifies the investment. Onboarding and support have also been strong, especially during setup and template customisation. While not positioned as an AI tool, the automation and rules‑based intelligence embedded in the product already deliver many of the efficiency gains users typically look for.

I really appreciate UpSlide because it allows me to use the linked slides feature, which isn't available in PowerPoint otherwise. This feature is particularly valuable as it reduces the risk of errors because I only need to edit the slide once, not across all my decks. I also found the UpSlide team to be very responsive and helpful during the setup process, even though it involved a lot of back and forth.

All PowerPoints using the linked slides feature must live in the UpSlide library. The initial setup was difficult with a lot of back and forth, but the UpSlide team was very responsive and helpful throughout the process.

UpSlide reduces the risk of error by allowing me to edit a slide once without updating multiple decks.

I like the poweropint shortcuts the best, especially the ability to copy width and height with two simple shortcuts and the ability to swap shapes really easily

I don't use the excel functionality as much and i have had issues with excel outputting in the past (i.e., it doesn't output correctly or when i hit refresh outputs it will crash my excel)

**What problems is UpSlide solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowing me to work more quickly in powerpoint especially with effective shortcuts and allowing me to format slides quickly and efficiently. It saves me a lot of time when I use it and allows me to create better presentation materials. I don't use it in excel as much, but some of the auto formatting functionality can be pretty good too.

**What do you like best about UpSlide?**

1. The library functionality saves us a lot of time in accessing latest slides, as well as eradicating the version control issues we were previously struggling with.
2.Slide checker tool is excellent to catch formatting inconsistencies, and the UpSlide formatting tools (alignment, swap shapes, format painter etc) make slide creation much quicker.
3. The links to excel/word have made our reporting production far more efficient (and accurate).
4. Training and general Q&A/support has been excellent from day one.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

From an admin's perspective:
1. Adding new content to the library can be slow with long loading/buffering time.
2. Would love to be able to add a deck to the library and individual slides from that deck then be inserted by the team in isolation from that deck - that's currently not possible, so as admin I have to load decks twice - once as individual slides, and again as a full deck, to allow the team full flex on deck creation.
3. Slide converter tool is ok, but usually requires a fair amount of manual intervention to convert old (not UpSlide created) slides into the UpSlide format.

Version control, speed of content creation, efficiency of reporting production with direct links to excel source data.

**What do you like best about UpSlide?**

The fact that UpSlide is really easy to use and it integrates directly with PowerPoint, so we don't have to learn new software. The library feature is a game changer for us, having everything in one place and easily updatable is huge for our company. It saves a lot of time since everything is easily searchable. We have also found it easy to implement in Word and Excel, using the same library is super convenient. The setup process was simple thanks to the fantastic support from the UpSlide team, who have been great in getting templates set up and offering well-attended training sessions.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

We have only had one struggle which was mass-uploading images to the library. But Natasha has been extremely helpful and given us a lot of support throughout the onboarding process, so it's not slowed us down or made an impact.

UpSlide saves time and costs, ensures better brand consistency, and provides a searchable library in one place, which is easy to update. Its integration with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel further simplifies our workflow.

UpSlide’s client and user support is superb.
The client team is always friendly and professional, and are highly responsive, offering clear, practical advice and guidance. 
For our management team, this has made reporting and decision making easier.  
For our users, this has meant quick resolution of any issues—whether through detailed written instructions or live walkthroughs over calls.

Functionality:
UpSlide’s intuitive user interface makes it easy to use, especially for new users who can get up to speed quickly. Other key features that stand out include:
•	Template & Slide Layouts: having these embedded in the UpSlide ribbon makes it easy to keep our whole team on-brand and visually consistent.  
•	UpSlide Library: having pre-prepared content in one location saves users from across our whole team significant time, and also helps us to present ourselves consistently to clients. 
•	Slide Library Linking: Simplifies the process of making updates to frequently used slides, ensuring consistency and saving time.
•	Automated Table of Contents: Removes the need for manual renumbering and removes the chance of mistakes, streamlining document preparation.
•	Formatting Tools: Makes formatting accessible even to those who are less familiar with PowerPoint, reducing reliance on our Graphic Design support.
•	Continuous Improvement: The introduction of new features—like the Dynamic library module—shows UpSlide’s commitment to evolving the product. This particular update looks to significantly improve what is currently a manual and time-consuming task.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

UpSlide is a very powerful tool, but there are a few areas where improvements would enhance the user experience:

•	Library Performance: Updating items in the UpSlide Library via PowerPoint can be slow. After making an update, there is often a delay before you can continue working in the library, which can interrupt workflow efficiency.

•	Limited Customisation of Automated Features: The automation around the Table of Contents and divider slides is helpful, but it restricts design flexibility. Greater control over layout and styling would provide useful freedom for different designs.

•	Dynamic Library Module Navigation: Currently, all images in the Dynamic Library module are stored in a single large folder, making it difficult to navigate. The ability to organise content into subfolders would significantly improve usability on our side and speed up content selection.

•	Update Master Layouts in the UpSlide Library: Currently, the Library allows linked slides to be updated individually. However, it would be useful to have a tool that can automatically update all older master layouts in the library to a new master template. 

•	Excel to PPT Link Limitations
o	Charts not editable: Because the charts are imported as images, it becomes difficult to quickly edit and format them in PPT. It would be helpful if charts exported to PowerPoint were fully editable.

o	Editable tables: When tables are exported from Excel to PowerPoint as editable objects, they do not retain their original formatting. After updates, the formatting reverts to PowerPoint’s default style. It would be helpful if the “export as editable table” feature preserved the formatting from both Excel and PowerPoint.

UpSlide is helping solve several key workflow inefficiencies, delivering tangible benefits across our team:

**What do you like best about UpSlide?**

What I like best about UpSlide is its ease of use and integration with Microsoft Office, which allows me to work efficiently. Implementing it was a breeze, and the transition didn't require extensive IT support, so I could start benefiting from its features right away. The customer support team is incredibly responsive, always ready to assist and ensure I maximize the tool's capabilities. I find myself using UpSlide frequently, especially for its smart linking and automated formatting, which significantly streamlines my document and presentation workflows. Overall, UpSlide integrates effortlessly into my daily tasks, making it an essential part of my toolkit.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

While UpSlide is a powerful tool, there are a few aspects that I find less appealing. One of the main drawbacks is the time it can take to refresh links between Excel and other documents, which can slow down my workflow considerably. Refreshing links also requires closing all other Excel windows, which is counterproductive. Additionally, there are some nuanced quirks in the software that aren’t immediately intuitive and require a bit of trial and error to work around effectively. These can be frustrating initially and demand some hands-on experience to navigate efficiently. Overall, while UpSlide has great capabilities, these aspects can be challenging and impact overall usability.

**What do you like best about UpSlide?**

Really easy to keep slides aesthetically pleasing and to the brand's style and makes a lot of things easier and more efficient. It makes finding certain slides and icons easier through the library.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

A lot of the features I do not know about or are not my "go-to", as I have been using normal PowerPoint for a lot longer and know it better. Education sessions and the material on the website are good for solving this. It would be better if when I'm using normal ppt features or buttons like aligning stuff using what's in ppt shape format rather than the Upslide tab for a popup or something to tell you: "you could've done this quicker through X."

UpSlide is very useful for organizing our materials into one easily accessible place. We no longer have to open multiple power points to copy and paste slides while simultaneously keeping up version control. This way we can control the most recent version of our materials and have our team members easily create decks with the most updated information.

It would be very helpful to be able to upload more than one slide to the library at a time. It's very tedious and time-consuming replacing slides in the library one by one. We are aware that you can save slides as a deck, but for the purposes of our materials, this is not a good way of saving things, and we need to do it individually. Not being able to select more than one slide to replace in the library adds a lot of time onto the process.

That said, you're right: charts sometimes don’t look the same once imported, and this is a limitation of the Microsoft “Enhanced Metafile” format we use.

You can read more information about this in the documentation linked below.

However, we have implemented a way to export charts using the SVG format to work around this limitation. This format ensures perfect rendering, but the image will be slightly heavier in size.

We would appreciate it if you could test it and give us feedback in UpSlide (Help > Submit Feedback).

You can activate this new export type with the steps below:
• In Excel, press the keys Ctrl + Shift + X to display the Log pane.
• Click on Tools>Support>Export charts as SVG

**What do you like best about UpSlide?**

Efficiency boosting software that is genuinely used across the firm and sped up multiple workflows, even in areas we didn't initially think it would be used for! We particularly like the automatic contents generator, Excel to PowerPoint link and library functions.

The UpSlide team are also awesome to work with - they have actively listened to and implemented a number of product enhancement suggestions we have.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

There are going to be a few bugs here and there on breaking links and some links being slow to update - some may require training to ensure UpSlide is used in the right way to prevent these issues.

**What problems is UpSlide solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to create reports with a lot more efficiency and help with ensuring data integrity/consistency.

**What do you like best about UpSlide?**

The product functionality is very well developed and tremendously useful (e.g., technology bridge from Excel to PPT, automated table of contents, persistent hyperlinks that automatically update, UpSlide library). Customer service and client success are incredibly exceptional.

It would be great if UpSlide included a track changes feature within PPT.

The ability to trace Excel formulas and set bespoke keyboard shortcuts. The ability to quickly format charts on Powerpoint. The ability to quickly export content from Excel and Word to Powerpoint.

Not that I am aware of. So far, the experience using Upslide has been outstanding.

Not really anything for now. It's relitively new to our team.

formatting graphs and ensuring consistent formatting across slides is extremely quick. the team is super hands on and proactive about ensuring we're all up to speed and maximizing the program

not a major complaint but still haven't had a great use case for it in word or excel

The dynamic linking which does not interrupt when rows/columns are added or removed. I appreciate the secure and accurate updating and refreshing to PPT

The graphical elements feel inferior to what others are doing.  Thinkcell offers more options and better visuals which i would appreciate having in Uplside to consolidate license spend.

**What do you like best about UpSlide?**

The smart painter tool is by far the most readily used tool for me, I use it on every single work product I produce almost.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

The largest downside is sometimes the linking to excel can be glitchy / unlink or with similar tabs will not be sure where to link to. The links also look different than their print (graph text looks like it is a different font until printed / pdfd). Another downside is the text linking has to be done one at a time (to my knowledge). This makes it annoying to link tables when you want the formatting to be in powerpoint for the table, but text to come from excel. A feature to input links in mass (i.e. copy table in excel and paste values with formatting and links to the excel.

**What problems is UpSlide solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Upslide solved a lot of the lack in features that microsoft office has which allows me to increase my producitivy and save my sanity some days.

About the links looking different in their print, this limitation stems from Office; please see this workaround, https://support.upslide.net/hc/en-us/articles/360009993239--READ-FIRST-Linked-image-changes-appearance-after-update, or contact our support to help you change the configuration of Office/Windows. 

You will also be glad to hear that: 
- we are making it easier to manage source conflicts via a new Excel Link Manager. If you are interested in testing the preview, please get in touch with your UpSlide account manager.
- we are currently investigating a solution to link a table in Excel to a table in PowerPoint while keeping the ability to format it in PowerPoint.

Easy to create data links. The formatting works great when linking to a powerpoint. Many of the other tools (other than linking) are pretty useful as well.

**What do you dislike about UpSlide?**

The formatting when linking to word isn't great. Instead of linking a table, we end up creating the table in word and linking the individual numbers instead. Not a big deal but an opportunity for improvement.

The workbook clean up tool would be super useful if it worked but there was not one time that it didn't crash, making it unusable.

**What problems is UpSlide solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Updating numbers in a report following a change in the excel.
