"Great product for the enterprise."

What do you like best?

It's VERY thorough. There are many choices to choose from when setting policy limits.

What do you dislike?

It's a lot of investment in time and resources to setup properly. Upgrading can be a pain.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you implement with in house staff consider training before implementation. You could also consider hiring outside for deployment, but the lessons learned will be less.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Tripwires primary use has been to keep our workstations and server free of malware and we also can report on changes to file systems/files.

"Tripwire Enterprise REVIEW"

What do you like best?

The best thing i like about tripwire enterprise is its policy management. I think it is a very strong feature of this software.

What do you dislike?

A little bit about cost structure. The file system monitoring and network device monitoring is an extra cost. Apart from that, nothing that i dislike.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The policy management is excellent, clean dashboard, etc. All in all it is a good product to invest in.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With Tripwire Enterprise, our administrators are able to use a combination of an agent-based and an agentless deployment to collect, assess and report on server, database, endpoint and network device configurations throughout the entire enterprise environment.

"Tripwire helps keep your files safe "

What do you like best?

From what I understand of tripwire enterprise it is very deft at monitoring changes that happen with in many files in your computer. It interfaces with detailed changes that may happen on applications and files within your computer.

What do you dislike?

I think that there are many additional add ons that are costly if you want upgrades and premium packages. This makes it more difficult in some ways because you want a security system to be both comprehensive and affordable.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Documentation is very good and the performance of the software is good, but cost is a bit high. This also means that if you want support you will have to pay extra since no free support is offered.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The it security which is becoming a greater problem for businesses and individuals is addressed by tripwire.

"Overall a worthy tool"

What do you like best?

Tripwire threat detection works as marketed, however the best feature is, it scales really well for large enterprises.

What do you dislike?

There are quite a few false positives if you rely on the out of the box configurations

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is probably the easiest way to get going which almost guarantees success for enterprise threat management. However there are better tools available in market , allbeit the implementation time maybe high. I had no visibility on pricing.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Readymade policies save lots of time, but the it has its quirks

"Works as advertised but..."

What do you like best?

Once you have created the rules and are evalauting files for modifications it performs flawlessly. I've had many people claim they did not make a change but when they view the infromation within Tripwire Enterprise the response has always been, well maybe I did after all.

What do you dislike?

The user interface is challenging and often clicking on the same object provides two different results. Beyond being inconsistent the documentation and available help is challenged. You can eventually work your way through the interface, the rules, the tasks and reports but it is time consuming ad slow. Working with Tripwire consulting services was expensive and ineffective, I've never seen a consulting organization unable to provide documentation, let alone one that is supposed to help with change compliance. I found myself pushing for answers when the industry standard is to provide documentation for the changes you are making.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

document everything the consult does while onsite and get training on the product early

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Great help with our ongoing financail audit and the critical control of change detection and monitoring

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Research Current devices and compatiblity

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Consolidating all of the Devices in the Enterprise into one is great solution for a one point to get information.

"Great software when it works "

What do you like best?

Ability to see my systems communicate status in live time

What do you dislike?

An inability to upgrade modularly. Our tw main admins will not upgrade (behind by almost 2 years) because there are 20,000+ vms being monitored and the upgrade would take far too long as a result.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Beware limitations of upgrading and potential for the TW database to become corrupt.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Pci compliance monitoring. Live system status

"Tripwire Enterprise is a great solution for meeting PCI compliance requirements."

What do you like best?

Great support from the company, they're always quick to answer tickets and help you get things working.

What do you dislike?

The interface isn't super intuitive, so either go to a training class offered by Tripwire of plan on spending a lot of time in the manuals at the beginning.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I used Tripwire to meet PCI audit requirements for auditing change on the servers and, more importantly, to benchmark their configurations against Tripwire's standard PCI configuration, which makes proving compliance to auditors easy.
