**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

Built in OS with easy interface and integration into the digital display software

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

any remote management for the device is a charged for product and the interface can be really slow

  ### 3. Stable, User-Friendly, But Limited in Customization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sai K. | Design Engineer, Semiconductors, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

I appreciate how Tizen offers fast boot times and smooth multitasking, which ensures a stable experience, even on budget TVs. The minimalistic and user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate. I also love the tight integration with smart home controls like Bixby, Alexa, and Google Assistant, making it convenient to manage my smart home devices. Moreover, the pre-installed major streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney Hotstar enhance my viewing experience, providing seamless access to my favorite content.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

I find the limited app ecosystem restrictive, as it only allows pre-installed apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney Hotstar, and restricts the installation of new software. This limitation affects my ability to customize my experience further. Additionally, data transfer is restricted as it cannot be done to non-Samsung devices lacking Tizen compatibility. Customization options are limited since third-party launchers and deeper interface personalization using metas and other software are not possible. Also, I encounter bloatware issues due to the presence of unwanted third-party apps.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Tizen provides smooth integration on Samsung devices, offering fast boot times, smooth multitasking, and stability even on budget TVs. It's user-friendly and supports major streaming apps, though customization and third-party app installations are limited.

  ### 4. Fast, Lightweight and Versatile, But Limited Apps

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

I like that Tizen is super fast and lightweight, with a clean and simple interface. It gives freedom to all developers and works on many devices. This makes it particularly helpful for watching TVs and running appliances smoothly without lag, and I use it for applications like Netflix and YouTube. I also appreciate the security it offers for smart devices.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Compared to Android or Apple, Tizen has fewer apps, fewer games, and slow updates. Some popular apps are missing, the developer support is weaker, and the updates are inconsistent.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tizen helps solve the problem of ensuring a smooth path in its usage.

Sluggys UI, apps take a long time to load, reopening some apps will restart them most of the times instead of going to the last open page, my samsung TV with Tizen has problems with some ARC HDMI soundsbars

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making TV "Smart".
It allows me to install apps (disney+, netflix, Plex, etc) directly on my tv, and even SteamLink for remote playing games from my PC (if the connection was better)

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Sometimes we'll be left with limited option of applications as it's not that prevalent operating system compared to Android or iOS. Also, it is difficult for non - tech savy people to use it.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customization of OS. Since tizen is open source, we can customize it according to our liking which offers great flexibility when compared to other os available.

  ### 12. Decent but no Android

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ron S. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

In general it's a imitation of the Android OS, sadly it's a underwhelming one; at times wish they would just focus on Android instead of Tizen, but then I do see value in terms of price and some additional flexibility.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Speed, limitations vs other OS's, infant stage when compared to other OS and their potential. Less of a fan following leaves it always as a chaser instead of a leader or a top 3 even.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's the OS i've used on my projector, it's light footprint makes it less of a resource hog at times but that means it is a limited vesion of what the hardware could be.

  ### 13. One stop shop for me!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

What I like the most is the advantage in the difference between my Samsung and LG interfaces. Samsung with Tizen tends to be more valuable and easy to navigate. (Maybe not for some but for me, it is) Long story short: it's more intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Downsides? I think for someone who is not like me, it can be difficult for them (the non-tech-savvy people) to navigate around the UI because it could require a lot of customization that they're just not used to.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It sends me more recommendations of content to watch instead of me scrolling endlessly trying to find it.

  ### 14. Easy to understand and User friendly

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

Most essential applications like Netflix, and Amazon Prime work on this Operating System.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

We can not open multiple apps Simultaneously, it crashes sometimes. RAM optimization can be done better.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tizen stand against Android in the Smart TV market. these are the only two significant competitors. and Tizen is working well by constantly adding new applications.

  ### 15. Well Condition

Tizen is the good processing functions which can use to intract with others with less time and faster than other social websites and application so it's features consists it's good

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Nothing go bad on this application software but it will be upgradable and more features are addable in future i think that's best platform to do all types work, and I can think that it's don't need to some improvement

**Recommendations to others considering Tizen:**

No need to recommendation to considering because many types are users of this Tizen software and solutions

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benifit is so more and Tizen is so coperative comparative for any devices and problems are not facing here but realised more types of benifit and features like smooth working and portability

  ### 16. Tizen os is good but not so great

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pabitra D. | DET, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

It is so smooth, feature rich, upto date, it is one the no.1 operating system in T.v.And many more features are regular added.this is very good thing.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

All is good but many apps are not available in tizen store, that is very ridiculous .

**Recommendations to others considering Tizen:**

I recommends to other use tizen software, for easy, smooth operation.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They need more add Apps in app store, and pay attention in software update.

  ### 17. My experience with Tizen is overall good but there are some disadvantages as well.

**Reviewed by:** Tigran S. | Relationship Manager Corporate Banking, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

The operating system works pretty fast. I like the inbuilt programs, such as Youtube Netflix, and how they work. The connectivity is really good as well. The wifi and Bluetooth are working smoothly.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

The most embarrassing feature of the operating system is the really slow browser that is impossible to use. You cannot add AdBlock or other extensions to it. Typing with the controller is problematic. Also, there is a lack of applications in the store.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes I connect my laptop to the Samsung TV, which is working with Tizen to have two monitors simultaneously. It helps.

  ### 18. Peculiarities of the Tizen Os

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel A. | Academic writer and editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

Like Android, Tizen is based on Linux and shares a lot of similarities to the android OS.
It is intuitive, lightweight (which implies smooth app operations and transitions) , has a beautiful well laid out design and it allows for customisation.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Compared to other available options, Tizen cannot effectively compete and gain a foothold due to inadequate support to the infant ecosystem. The array of apps available to users can be increased and improved on by Samsung.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On the android phone, Tizen offers the full stock android performance and experience with none of the lag and extra customizability. This means you can expect zero lags or loading time with apps on Tizen. You also have the option of customizing the interface more than you can on android.

  ### 19. Best Operating System ever used

I use Samsung smartphone which uses tizen oS

Booting time is much faster as compared to Android or other OS.
Being an open source platform is the best part about it.
Can run on mobile as well as smartwatches.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Not much developement by app developers as compared to other OS.
People are not too familiar about this when spoken about.
Notifications & UI require improvement

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The integration of Tizen in mobiles as well as IOT devices has been a saviour.
Have had a smooth and fluid experience while using this.
Apps take little space hence it's much lighter in memory utilisation.

  ### 21. About Tizen OS

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saran U. | Senior Technical Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

a good option and is easy to use for almost everyone

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Tizen OS' voice assistant does not hold a candle to Google's voice assistant.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It doesn't lack any of the essential features and is not really a deal-breaker. But it does offer fewer choices than Android

  ### 22. Tizen review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Md Mofijul I. | Graduate Research Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

I like the cross-platform apps development.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

The apps development platform needs some improvement.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly used Tizen for apps development.

  ### 23. Powerful framework but lack of support.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ANSAR H. | Software Engineer 1, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

The performance and the scalability. Tizen-based applications are comparatively fast and optimized. It uses the EFL libraries which are so feature-rich library, and highly optimized for resource usage. It's fast and lightweight as compared to other OS. The best part about Tizen is its support of multiple types of devices, in smart TVs, refrigerators, smart watches, smart phones, washing machines, light bulbs, vacuum cleaners. Samsung’s devices with Tizen OS consume less power than other OS.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Although there's official documentation is there, but when I need any support/help at some point where I stuck, there are not much resources available on the web. So it's difficult for me to solve the bug in my code. The application uses a lot of RAM, which causes the application to crash several times.

**Recommendations to others considering Tizen:**

If someone is going to work with Tizen, he/she must be very clear about the basics, otherwise, it may be difficult to solve the problems. There may be some points where someone can get stuck and will not be able to find an accurate solution. So, it really important to be very clear with the basic concepts.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Tizen to implement the application used in Enterprise TVs. The main advantage of using Tizen based application I have observed so far is the Performance and Scalability of the application. Tizen-based applications are optimized. It is said to be a lightweight operating system that offers speed in the startup when compared to other OS.

  ### 24. Experience of 2 years in Snapdeal, Currently working on tizen apps.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saurabh S. | A Free Bird - Self Employed, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

It's pretty easy to code in Tizen and Tizen is free.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

There is no proper documentation. There should be documentation with examples so that new joiners can pick up things quickly. There should be few sample projects for learning. For example- It took me days to understand how to get all contacts and store them in the Tizen watches. The problem is that the community is small, and error codes are ambiguous, so searching for a particular issue might be troubling.

The tizen community should work on the documentation with live examples. There should be a bunch of "sample projects" so that anyone can learn easily understand it.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are working on providing youtube accessibility, the top 20 contacts access app, and better free navigation from our third-party software.

  ### 25. Tizen has potential, but needs better ecosystem

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shashank S. | Sr Member of Technical Staff, Linux Graphics, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

- Multiple light UI implementations
- Scalability across many devices from watches to TVs, Phones to Washing machines
- This OS has true potential to become the first "Complete home automation OS" is ported to IOT well.
- It's Open-source.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

- Ecosystem is very limited to Samsung support.
- Lacks good apps, It depends on Android majorly to get the apps
- Major features (like screencasting) are supported only in the Samsung ecosystem

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Opensource Competition to Android and MacOs, there is something to fall back to.
- One solution for all consumer electronics devices (think if your phone/TV/Fridge/Washing Machine/smartwatch/speaker/car can all be running in the same compatible ecosystem, sharing everything in a home)

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

Tizen applications are basically developed on HTML5, so any person who is having knowledge of HTML can develop a interactive UI, Also a good UI gives better browsing experience.

As its based on Linux OS and Application development can be done in C and C++ programming. Any person having knowledge of C/CPP and HTML can develop his own application in Tizen.

As a developer perspective its easy to learn and good scope to contribute.

Tizen is a light weight OS compared to Android. It takes little less time to load the OS, I recommend Tizen OS for Smart Watches and TVs

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Most of mobile developers creates their own application and deploy in app stores but, Tizen do not have a better application store unlike Play store and App Store(Apple). There creates a lack of interest in developer and we dont see much of Tizen OS or Applications in Smart phones.

**Recommendations to others considering Tizen:**

As said earlier if any beginner who is looking exploration then he or she can go with Tizen. You can experience Old school C/CPP programming and also extend your hands on HTML5.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compared with other org like Google and Apple it does not have much limitations, it give one of best option for customized OS and UI experience.

As a programmer I can say if someone is looking for exploration then he or she can go for it. You can experience Old school C/CPP programming and also extend your hands on HTML5.

  ### 29. Best Choice for Tv OS and HTML developer

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

Tizen is very light OS if we compared to Android so boot time is very less due to which its perfect choice for tv.
Tizen applications are based on HTML5 due to which it used to give better browsing experience.
As it is new comparative to Android so there is much scope of optimization for developers to contribute .Os is based on Linux
It dont have any restrictions which google have , its best for customizing the Os and user experience.

If you are tech savvy and like to explore amny customization go for it.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Tizen doesnt have better app store. There is lack of interest from developer due to this its not widely used in smart phones.
Right now only samsung and intel is contributing to this ,it will be better once more developer will start contribute to this

**Recommendations to others considering Tizen:**

If you are looking to explore more from developer front and then go for it there is much more open areas to explore here

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For tv ,boot time is very important so with tizen we are seeing instant booting when there is power cut , also we can do customization to ROM for different user experience.

  ### 30. Tizen- a user friendly platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shreya G. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

It is a user friendly OS. The APIS are so easy to understand and work with. Working in Samsung, we are so content with the services provided with Tizen platform. And it is truth worthy aa it is way older than other OS platforms.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Nothing to be honest. Just requires some polishing of new features.

**Recommendations to others considering Tizen:**

Go for it.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in Samsung and all our LFDs and LEDs are Tizen based. They are fast and easy to use. Tizen- studio helps in understanding the Tizen APIS with such ease.

  ### 31. Proficient tizen developer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

Tizen has been the Samsung OS since 2014. The apis and media playback experience is reliable.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

The OS and in particular web support is lagging atleast by 5 years e.g 2018 tv supports web features on or before 2015. It’s very hard to build an app with using latest web features e.g grid which has been around for a while now.

The navigation library caph is good but ancient.

**Recommendations to others considering Tizen:**

Please be aware that technology is not the most latest but it does the job well.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am building media apps for tizen since Samsung smart TVs account for at least 60% household tvs. It’s simply not optional if we are looking to attract tv consumers.

  ### 35. Tizen : Faster way of getting things done

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepesh S. | Senior Systems Engineer/Lead Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

Tizen is blazingly fast and responsive. A linux based operating system also makes it less suseptible to virus attacks. Though not an active user currently, i used it for couple of years a while back and found it much more responsive compared to Android/Windows phone. Not Only Speed wise, being a lightweight OS, it also gives amazing results with seemingly lesser configurations ( works pretty neat with less RAM) when you compare the HW configuration of other competeters .
Another great feature which i like was Ultra power saving mode in Tizen Phones, which basically shuts down all un-necessary features and gives it a keypad phone kind-a look and improves the Battery Life insanely!

To conclude i love how they have optimized the Hw resources to get the maximum benefit out of it.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

In one Word, i missed App Store which was the primary reason of moving back to android. Though i hope the continous work on intoducing more alike and distinctive apps can help tizen go up the ladder.

**Recommendations to others considering Tizen:**

Its worth a try.. it hadly takes anytime to boot up and ready to serve . you might miss few of your fav apps on switching OS, but considering its smooth experience its areasonable tradeoff

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Tizen during app developement work. For Developers its a treat as bootup time is very less. Being a Linux User and C /CPP programmer , it was easier to get into working mode for Tizen Apps.

  ### 36. Implemented the application from scratch using Web and Native code related to sensors.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Itban S. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

Despite of having a lot of uncertainties, the best part of using Tizen is that the officials are trying their best to enhance the understanding of the developers by improving the documentation, organizing live chat sessions and promoting the developers communities.

If you are stuck somewhere, You can use platforms like Tizen Developers Community and the Samsung Developers Community to get the answer to your problem. The documentation does not contain sufficient information yet, but it is being improved day by day.

If you've developed an incredible application, You can submit that for the "Best of Galaxy Store Awards". This is also a great initiative for motivating the developers to use Tizen platform. I think it will increase the efficiency and maturity of Tizen APIs as the increasing number of developers will result in identification of possible bugs and suggestions for their fixes.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Every technology has it's pros and cons, There are a couple of things that I dislike about Tizen.

First one is the incomplete documentation. A documentation is supposed to have all the information related to the APIs and other stuff but you shouldn't expect this in case of Tizen.
Sometimes there is not sufficient information available about the purpose or the possible values of any method parameters. You may not be able to find the output of any API call. In some cases the API call description only translates the name of the API call and nothing more.
In my personal opinion, When it comes to the API documentation, it should contain each and every single bit of information about all the methods. It will help the developers to understand the behavior of Tizen and polish their code in a different perspective.

Another thing I would like to point out is the legacy software of Tizen Studio which is a really heavy thing for the machine. It can cost you a lot of resources when you work on the Tizen Studio as it slows down the system sometimes. The UI is also not much user friendly and it has a lot of room for improvement.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've found it useful in a sense that you can access a lot of things from the lower layers e.g. I've collected the Sensor data from the Smart Watch and then sent it to the server. It gives you full control over the available information. There are plenty of APIs available to extract the useful information from your device. You can play around with the APIs and have more information than your imagination !

**What do you like best about Tizen?**

Tizen provides good permormance to power consumption ratio which may be a crucial feature for embedded devices.

**What do you dislike about Tizen?**

Developers community is a drop in a ocean comparing to android. Sometimes it is hard to find solutions for some platform specific issues. In my time doing development, SDK was lacking good documentation and snippets, so i had to search for support on Tizen developers IRC chanels that had only around one hundred people.

**What problems is Tizen solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Software development for Tizen. You could expect good performance and power consumption even on low-end hardware. This feature could be exceptionally beneficial on wearable devices, where you don't have much room to improve battery or hardware.
