We used it to manage our Test cases for a few project modules and also aligned it with Jira but in the end, it was not so efficient in using.

**Official Response from Shanu Mandot:**

> Hello, thanks for taking the time to write us a review. Happy to see that TestRail helps you manage all the testing activities.
Also, if you could share any more detailed feedback around what you'd like to see differently in the interface and analytics (either here or by submitting a request https://support.gurock.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) that would be very much appreciated!

**Reviewed by:** Simran S. | QA Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2020

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

1. Milestones are great way to track the Test runs on every environment

Inability to search a particular case by adding keywords as there is no search box. The test rail portal to add cases is not expandable.

Automation cases & Manual cases have a bifurcation which helps us to estimate the testing. On every execution of the test run, It helps us with various options which help us to identify the behaviour of the environment

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Test Rail has enabled us in maintaining our test data, executions, logging and defect tracking with respect to individual tests. These help us in enabling a good matrix for tests with rest to the quality metrics we set in our current organization.

The best thing about Test Trail is that you can create test runs as per your convenience of test cases, you can add as many test cases you want in the run, and by selecting the dynamic test plan, you can just update the test case and the run updates automatically.

Test Cases management has become very easy with TestRail and it is the best tool in the market for that. It is super user-friendly and anyone without prior experience can also learn the tool quickly.

Hard to integrate the output of the automated test-cases through test-rail, manual intervention is involved most of the time to update the status of the executed test-cases.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create the user stories and their respective test-cases and assign the track the status of the test-cases results and execute the test-cases, creation of dashboard and verify the status of the project and the metrics.

  ### 8. TestRail made it simple to import our existing test cases and create new ones

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian G. | QA Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

Importation tools are very flexible so it's easy to create your test cases in an external tool such as Excel and import each column to the field of your liking. Jira integration also makes it easy to relate actual bugs to test cases.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

Reporting needs improvement as I have a hard time outputting the data I want without much trial and error. A live preview would be a very nice start. Administration navigation is also confusing.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating, running and managing tests easily with easy to understand status dashboard and Jira issue statuses in real time. Auditing of actual QA tests performed.

  ### 10. One of the best Test Management tool in the current market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankush K. | QA Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

The ease with which one can import test cases and run the tests. Plus the pie chart that shows % of pass/fail tests provides a better overall picture of test execution.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The user interface is somewhat compromised in newer versions. And an option to close a test run should be provided outside itself instead of a user going to edit mode and close.

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

TestRail is a brilliant tool to import test cases easily and provides better picture of overall test execution.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The speed with which the testing team can complete their testing is increased and overall testing time is reduced.

  ### 11. Preferred Test Case Manager

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

I love the ease of use, integrations, and intuitive design of TestRail. We use TestRail alongside JIRA and having the ability to integrate our test cases into our JIRA tickets is a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

While I love TestRail's integrations, we have encountered issues with JIRA integration on some browsers. While switching browsers is not a showstopper, being unable to use my preferred browser is a bit of an inconvenience.

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

Consider what other software you'd like to use alongside TestRail - while TestRail offers integration with many other management tools, there are occasional instances where it may not play nice.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestRail allows us to consolidate our test cases and test plans into one software while integrating with other project management software used by our team. In short, it has been a vital asset for both communication and efficiency.

  ### 12. TestRail simplifies our Test Management process

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Berny R. | Head, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

So simple to get up and runnig. It's simply a matter of creating a project, creating a milestone, creating the test cases and executing them in a test run. The integration with Jira is awesome too!

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The reporting features could be improved. I would love the ability to design my own reports. The API's available are limiting because they only allow a certain number of records to be returned at once.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to be transparent about test progress on our projects. TestRail has allowed us to work smarter, not harder, by using its functionality to create tests fast.

**Official Response from Shanu Mandot:**

> Thank you for your review, Berny! It means a lot to us. We at TestRail constantly gather user insights to work on them and deliver the best experience QA professionals can have!

We have received a lot of helpful feedback on Reporting with TestRail. Stay tuned to see more updates on this. Also, if you have a minute to spare, could you help us understand what you would like to see differently in reports? You can customize the reports, as seen here (https://support.gurock.com/hc/en-us/articles/7408104754452-Custom-reports-introduction#terminology-0-0), but this is currently available only for TestRail server users.

Lastly, API is rate-limited currently on TestRail Cloud to ensure optimal performance for all users. For more details, please check out the guide here: https://support.gurock.com/hc/en-us/articles/7077083596436-Introduction-to-the-TestRail-API.

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

I am using testrail since past12 months and the way they provide ease to use the different features which they provide is excellent, som of the feature which I like are Jira Integration, Reporting, Test results.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

There is nothing much to dislike about Testrail but one thing which I don't use logo change and SSO integration.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tracking on the test case which I create and then integrate it with the testrail API for an automated test case to pass or fail from the cloud builds, This does decrease the time it takes to do testing

**Official Response from Shanu Mandot:**

> Thank you, Saurav! Your feedback means a lot to us. Can certainly appreciate your feedback on logo change and SSO integration if available.

If you have any other issues or feedback regarding any aspect of TestRail, please reach out to our support team at contact@gurock.com and we'll be happy to help. Cheers!

Test Rail is easy to use and we can create the milestones which are very useful to manage builds

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

unable to manage manual testcases compared to other tools like Jira and PractiTest

Also, we have recently improvised our documentation to help and bring better usability experience.

Having said that, we are always looking to improve the experience for all users. ### 16. Easy to Use and User Friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepak A. | Sr QA Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2020

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

To add test cases into the plan is easy and easy to create a report after the test cycle is completed. I also loved the include images in steps to describe steps more easily and feature to shared steps which saves lots of time to write redundant test steps.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

Concurrent user can't update test cycle at a time. Need to wait to finish one user update

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

Easy to Use and easy implementation with more features.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A lot help in regression testing and measure overall progress of product in each release

  ### 17. TestRail review.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

TestRail is useful as a test management tool for the following reasons:
1. Simple interface
2. Integration with JIRA
3. Tree structure for test cases
4. Comprehensive test reports

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

1. Can improve the User interface to make it look more organized; drag and drop feature should be available.
2. Can improve the Reporting template with more attractive graphs, should be able to customize the report by including selected sections.
3. Can include Defect Logging as a feature in TestRail instead of depending on integrations.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Test management activities, test scenario creation, test case creation, execution of the test scripts, generation of test reports, and presenting to stakeholders. Can execute Automation scripts also. Integration with JIRA enables defect logging and tracking.

  ### 18. One stop solution for test case management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul S. | PCB layout Engineer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

Test rail is the best tool to test repository test cases and that has multiple integration facilities to store tested data in drives cloud, run logs, import and export from excel and much more.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

As Testrail is a good tool to work with compare to others, but the pricing is getting increasingly more. In addition, you will not know how many tests runs did your tester. You can list down it and count by yourself.

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

I truly recommend this tool for those who are working as a QA analyst and in testing management company.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using this software since long from almost 2 years and we are managing test cases and reporting bugs for our QA specialist team and report and make logs accordingly.

  ### 19. The best solution for quick and transparent testing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alla L. | Head Of Quality Assurance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

It's really fast to create test cases and organize them into groups/projects, we also love the milestones feature that helps us to track the progress and the backlog.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

Sometimes the maintenance happens during our working hours (we work on GST time).
Also, the interface could be a little bit more modern.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a clear view of test coverage now, and the chances we missed something are less. The benefit is obvious - we don't have any major or critical production bugs since we switched to TestRail.

  ### 20. TestRail+Jira for manual and automated tests

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ganna K. | Lead QA Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

We benefit a lot from the opportunity to see the test results in one place, both manual and automated.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

We needed to set up a few test report grids and graphs ourselves, failing to get what we needed directly from the tool.

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

Ensure you understand your reporting needs and think carefully about integrating the tool with your automated tests.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have everything in one place, both manual and automated tests. Also, we benefit from traceability features a lot: tests to requirements, bugs to test runs.

  ### 21. Great tool for managing and executing automated test cases

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sumit K. | SDET, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

Test plans and cases can be managed easily.
Also, we can run the automated test cases directly from the testrail itself. It helps in checking test coverage. Which helps in automating the higher priority cases

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The integration with slack can be improved a bit.
The UI/UX can be improved a bit.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to maintain my test cases. That also helps in checking the test coverage for automation, which helps in automating critical cases on a priority basis.

  ### 22. Gets your tests organized

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jeff s. | Central QA Manager (Business Systems), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

TestRail has been helpful to my team in terms of centrally organizing our test plans, test cases, test results & reports.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The UI may need some improving and proper QA on their product patches

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

If you're looking for a cloud-cased test management tool with easy JIRA integration, TestRail should be on top your list.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestRail has allowed us to reduce the duration of our otherwise lengthy testing process and activities. The team has become efficient in the process.

  ### 23. Perhaps, the worst testing instrument

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Olga V. | Quality Assurance Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

- It's better than Excel.
- Gurock forum where I could be sure that I'm not the only one looking for a new tool.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

- Support. I am in the other timezone from support, so I write them on my workday, they answer me at night. So, we have a conversation for several days.
- Support never tells the dates to fix their bugs. Never. And all the people who have the issue never know if it will be fixed.
- Gurock doesn't mind if it's users have some bugs. They released a feature that broke screenshots pasting and said that they don't see this problem. Then they saw the issue and got it from many other users. It is the high-priority bug that affected our work as testers. However, they made two releases without bugfix.
- They have critical bugs and don't fix them. That screenshot bug they were fixing for two months. All this time, every team was complaining in their blog.
- They do it again. Now I'm changing the instrument. Because there is another issue with screenshot inserting, if you don't believe it, take a look at their blog https://discuss.gurock.com/t/announcing-testrail-7-1-with-attachment-management-improvements/17670/142.
- They are increasing their price because they did an important and challenging job. Do you think this is sarcasm? No, that's what they wrote in the last letter.
- Reports. You will never know how many test-runs did your tester. You can just list it and count yourself.
- Integration. For monthes we tried to integrate with youtrack. It's impossible partly because of bugs, partly because of the lack of documentation (it tells to place an id but youtrack has plenty ids and none of them is accepted).

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

just don't use it

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To organize test documentation and test process (if it would do it properly)

**Official Response from Shanu Mandot:**

> Thank you so much for your detailed review. We’re sorry you had an average experience using TestRail. We’ll strive to do better.

We do take feedback from our users very seriously and make sure that all feature requests, bug reports, and all other bits of feedback provided through the forums or email support are added to our own internal trackers, and additional votes are used to add weight and priority so that we can get a better feel for changes and product updates that our users would like to see.
For any additional details or queries, please feel free to reach out to us at contact@gurock.com.

  ### 24. Test Case Management in Agile & Cloud based Projects : TestRail

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

The integration with Jira ( Atlassian Jira ) makes it the tool of choice for agile projects. The integration steps with Jira are super simple, and navigation from Jira to TestRail and back is a cakewalk.
The custom login integration, showing the test case summary like passed or failed, number of test cases, number of runs, and the reports, make it the best choice both for testers and developers.
The UI customizations are super simple and have features like steps, images, automation, number of required columns, type of test cases, milestones, and many more.
The bug tracking is also easy, and TestRail can be used to create ticket-like bugs and stories in Jira, which makes it super handy as one can see the stories and the bugs both in the same Jira board view.
Adding users with specific roles and permissions is another excellent feature.
The template-based (import/export) feature makes it super simple to create multiple test cases in one go.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The screenshot feature is complex to use as a direct copy-paste is not available for the next step; one has to save and upload the image every time.
Repeating steps need to use new screenshots if working in memory. Customized test cases like JUnit, TestNG, Robot, and many others are challenging to integrate.
Jenkins integration with maven tests and performance tests are not available directly, and it is more manual testing friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

The test management tool with a cost-effective licensing plan and support makes it one great tool of choice.
On top of that, the integration with Jira is one significant advantage.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The stories in a sprint require test cases to be added, run, and signed off by all stakeholders. Thus TestRail links, stories, bugs with various test cases, milestones, and can generate necessary reports showcasing the details.
The Jira integration helps to view the number of test cases, run test cases, failed and passed test cases in one place.
The most significant benefit - the definition of a story done - is correctly depicted, and various stakeholders can see the details based on the permissions without leaving the agile dashboard.

  ### 25. TestRail is a great testing management tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

The way that the tool facilitates the interaction with a lot of people and different roles involved into the development cycle, it has a lot of features and a great integration with another tools.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

At this moment there is nothing that I would say that I dislike, I have been using it for 8 months and everything has been working fine in this time. Nothing to improve yet

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

If you have a large organization that requires ease of testing, TestRail is a great option.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solve principally the participation of developers on this, because they have the responsibility of executing tests. The QA team helps with the design and the assignments.

  ### 26. Powerful and versatile test case manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

Importing test suites and getting things initialized was a breeze once I got the hang of the system. It's easy to set up milestones and plan test runs. Executing tests is straightforward.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The trial period for evaluation was a little short. 2 weeks was not a lot of time to figure out if this TestRail would be suitable for my team's needs. However, their support was easy to work with.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our test data was in custom spreadsheets before we adopted TestRail. It was difficult to scale beyond a certain point, and it cost more to maintain than what a subscription for TestRail cost.

  ### 27. Great Integration with Bug Tracking and Testing Applications

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catherine C. | Technical Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

Ability to integrate with Ranorex and Jira

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

So far I don't have anything I dislike with this product

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

Great Test Management Tool

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The integration saves a lot of time from manually updating or reviewing related tickets in Jira. It also very efficient in a way that test results can be seen in the ticket without the need to log in to multiple systems.

  ### 28. The reason why we selected TestRail is ease of use, UI, the way Test Cases can be organized.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2020

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

1. Test runs
2. Global repository for Test cases of the QA Team
3. Tracking Testing effort
4. Dashboard
5. Push Defect feature

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

1. Reports cannot be customized.
2. It would be good to provide access with Read-only permission and no need of license for this purpose to other cross functional teams.
3. Importing 'Images' is not possible with Test Run. We are aware of the workaround.

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

N/A

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Global repository of Test cases for the whole QA Team.
2. Easily accessible Test cases across all the service area QA folks. Recently we set the restrictions at the user level.
3. Dashboard.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jan D. | Founder, CEO, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

Easy to use, great user experience, simple UI, dark mode included, possibility to quickly write tests using Markdown

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

Having troubles with some updates breaking older test cases using Markdown, the built-in 'Steps' test case template can get hard to read with more complicated test cases

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping the software's test cases nicely documented and organized as well as keeping track of current testing progress
