**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2022

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

TestRail makes keeping track of test cases and checklists a total breeze. I love using this software when handling quality assurance testing on software and applications. It makes life considerably simpler when trying to track what has already been done and what has not.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

Unfortunately, bug tracking requires integrating external database software such as Jira. This would be far better if these two concepts could be combined into a single piece of software that would be used for testing without needing extra software.

TestRail solves the issue of needing a good way of tracking test cases in real time. It keeps testing efforts organized and well-ordered throughout the testing process.

  ### 30. Essential Test Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Olivia S. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

TestRail is a program that's very neat and great for creating test ends, and the tools allow it to be perfect for the entire application lifecycle. Running tests to ensure the app will meet our users' needs, deploying the product on our international servers, and traceability are tools that work great on TestRail and that I use to make sure our application runs smoothly. I like that it has a variety of testing that can be used depending on what phase of the application lifecycle I'm in, such as automated, scripted, or exploratory. These are all saved, and I can scroll through the history of every test and get reports on them or see what team members worked on each task.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

Although their tools are beneficial, work perfectly and adjust to my needs, their UI is not intuitive and lacks a lot of easiness and guides to help solve questions. Its interface looks like it doesn't get constant updates, making it seem tedious and confusing. In addition to that, the support team has taken a long time to reply to the issues we've had in the past.

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

I recommend TestRail to large teams that manage their automated tests and analyze their application lifecycle, all in the same program. It's great for integrating similar phases of ALM to work in the same interface, making it easu=ier to keep track of your progress and how your tests go.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With TestRail, we can run tests on every application, and it has been the critical factor in our software release. In case a problem arises, we can also track back to these tests to figure out what went wrong and what we can do to fix it. We've benefitted from the extensive and detailed reports as it allows us to track our progress and our work, and our teamwork. These reports are delivered in the form of dashboards which can also be shared through a link in case someone that's not in our team needs to revise it, and you can select which metrics you want to study and analyze in each report. Overall, TestRail has worked for us, and we've been able to launch our app and focus on fixing every issue that pops up.

**Official Response from Shanu Mandot:**

> Hello Olivia,
First of all, thank you so much for your detailed feedback. We're super glad to see that TestRail helps you in your test management activities like test case management, test execution, reporting, etc.

We are always looking to improve the experience for all users. We have recently updated our guides with a new interface. Also, if you could share any more detailed feedback around what you'd like to see differently in the interface and guides(either here or by sending us a few screenshots at contact@gurock.com) that would be very much appreciated!

Lastly, I would forward the feedback on delayed responses on support tickets to the concerned team. We usually respond within 1-2 business days. But we're always fine-tuning our internal processes to curate the best experience for the users.

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2022

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

Integrated and functional which was helpful.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

Can be slow at times and had to refresh.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us to solve issues before they happen.

  ### 37. Test Rail is a really great tool to track all your test results in one place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2022

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

You can add milestones and tie them to your test runs

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

Can't reuse test cases across multiple projects

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking test results

  ### 38. TestRail is great for automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott W. | Automation Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

The TestRail API is extensive enough to allow you to run automated tests in an external framework and record the results. TestRail also supports UI customizations, which were critical in allowing my organization to migrate our GitHub test cases successfully. The UI customizations let us add fields to each test case that link back to the original GitHub issues.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The UI can be a bit awkward at times, but overall it is easy to do what you need to do. It would also be nice if there were more API workflow examples, such as assigning test people to tests in a test run via a script. The price is a bit higher than other products as well.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a test case and result repository to integrate with our automation system. We needed the ability to upload results from our automated tests and generate metrics and reports from them. The benefits are finally having a single place where our test cases and results are housed and generating meaningful reports from them.

  ### 39. One of the best Test Management tool for QA

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Srilatha K. | Senior QA Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2020

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

The tool is very user-friendly, and any new person can easily get the hang of TestRail very quickly. TestRail has a wide variety of reporting, which is very useful for the QA team while showing the matrix. The integration with Jira is seamless.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The interface is still pretty old. Moving test cases from one suite to another needs to be improved. Slack integration is missing. We do not have option for search and replace in multiple testcases: this is an time taking process when a terminology in the company is changed and we have to update all our testcase individually.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestRail has a simple UI, and its functionality is straight forward. Easy for people to jump in and use the tool, assuming that the tool fits Dev/QA's team workflow and method of usage. For the administrator, access is easily manageable, and provides multiple categories for restricting access and defining user roles within the organization. The cost of the Tool is very affordable.

  ### 40. TestRail product review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason D. | Staff Quality Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

I have been using TestRail for years across multiple companies and projects as a manager and as a test engineer. TestRail has provided the industry's best pound-for-pound product for test management software regarding price/feature. The UI/UX is very intuitive and new test engineers can pick it up very easily; power users also have every tool they need at their disposal. I have used JIRA integration and the TestRail API with tremendous success. TestRail dashboard and reports have also helped with reporting clean and accurate daily results to our stakeholders. I would recommend this product to any organization looking for a new or better test management solution.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The automation test setup is a little tricky at first and moving test runs to different test plans would be a nice to have option.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had no test management software at my current employer and were desperate to move from Excel planning and reporting.

  ### 41. TestRail is a handy tool for accurate planning and execution of software testing.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna J. | Manual QA, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2022

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

The features are helpful to me as a QA specialist in categorizing tests into relevant priorities and methods, which helps to smartly prioritize and optimize the work process.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The UI of the web app seems a bit obsolete. Also, it would be good if it becomes more flexible to manage the orders of test case sections and subsections.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use TestRail on a regular basis as a QA specialist. It is useful especially when running regression tests and helps to keep track of results over time, improve the communication with software development teams and avoid messes.

It is great when planning and reviewing comprehensive test scenarios, since storing data, screenshots, comments and tracking updates are much easier when using TestRail.

**Official Response from Shanu Mandot:**

> Thanks for your feedback, Anna. We're glad to see that TestRail helps you in prioritizing and optimizing test management activities.

Regarding your feedback on TestRail UI, could you please help me in understanding what you'd like to see differently in the interface? It can help me to forward the feedback to concerned teams and plan for upcoming features in near future. Also, I really liked your suggestion of bringing more flexibility in managing test case sections and subsections and would open an internal feature request on your behalf.

If you have additional comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to email us at contact@gurock.com as we are always looking for ways to improvise.

  ### 42. Testrail - an excellent test management tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harold E. | QA Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

Testrail provides users the ability to create test cases and test projects. You can separate different test cases depending on which project they are being used. It also has Jira integration which is helpful in linking test cases and test runs to Jira tickets/projects.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The UI and button locations are not that beginner-friendly. It took some time to get used to the buttons and shortcuts. Copying/moving test cases from one project to another can also be a bit tricky for beginners.

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

For anyone looking for an excellent test management tool, you should try and check out testrail. I believe they have a free trial that should give you a glimpse of what it offers.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testrail allows us to track test cases and test runs for our different features and regression tests. It provides a way for the team to add and review all existing test cases and projects and provide feedback.

  ### 43. Convenient way to organize and track tests

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daria W. | Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

TestRail is a convenient way to organize and track my tests. I can write and link to our testing software to track results, and refer back to any issues. TestRail allows us to report on the data as well, so we know our success rates.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

I don't specifically dislike anything - there is a lot to learn and tackle in TestRail, so we're only using a few of its capabilities now. As time goes by we expect to use it more fully to help our business!

**Recommendations to others considering TestRail:**

It's a great place to organize your tests and keep track of them - much easier than tracking through project management software or (shudder) email.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are doing well tracking our test plans and ensuring that each build gets a full slate of automated tests. We've tried to encourage users to write tests for their custom applications, but that's easier requested than done.

  ### 44. Testrail- Repo for complete test management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeyanth M. | QA LEAD, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2022

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

The approach to managing the testing activity is polished and robust. Reporting is quite good as well.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

It takes some time to get used and the approach is not straightforward.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is our test repo

**Official Response from Shanu Mandot:**

> Thanks for your awesome feedback, Jeyanth!

It sounds like you're off to the races already, but just in case it's useful in the future, here's a handy set of TestRail Video Tutorials (https://www.gurock.com/testrail/videos/introduction-projects) which can help you get started within minutes!

  ### 45. latest version could be better

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2022

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

It's great to be able to import and export TC, also add fields and create runs with integration to automation

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

Since last year's upgrade, the app is slow, the addition of the themes while very nice is not useful because the app is extremely slow with it.
The change to adding pictures is so annoying, I work with copying my TC and now all my TC contain the picture that I added to the first case, If I remove it will be removed from the first TC as well.
Don't dare recommend sharing test steps, because I rather change each test manually than make a loop of test cases.

I love Testrail but the latest version has too many bugs, its hard to work with

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

testing the app

**Official Response from Shanu Mandot:**

> Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback.

We’re sorry you had an average experience using TestRail's themes and copying test cases. We’ll strive to do better.

If you have a few minutes, we'd love to hear how we can improve the test case design experience for our users. Your evaluation is very valuable to us. If you have any further comments, please email us at contact@gurock.com.

Need some better test automation tools integrations out-of-the-box

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Test and project management

**Official Response from Shanu Mandot:**

> Really appreciate your feedback around integrations with the test automation tools too; this is something we've been actively looking into. ### 47. Extremely happy with TestRail and highly recommend anyone looking for a test case management system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Preetam K. | S, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

I'm delighted with TestRail and highly recommend anyone looking for a test case management system to review it. It's the best system I've seen in years - it goes deep enough to show you what you need to know as a tester and manager but doesn't add work hours to your day to get the data.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

The automation test setup is a little tricky at first. Integration to bug tracking tools like Jira or any other would be great to have. UI could be a bit simpler and intuituve.

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A test reporting management system like TestRail is a lifesaver. In terms of pricing as well, it's just fantastic. We are using it to test end-to-end our test suites and test plans.

  ### 48. Helped my team a lot in organizing the testing.

  ### 50. TestRail has changed the way we test

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about TestRail?**

TestRail is clean! Well thought out in structure and functionality to allow the creation of test runs that makes the most sense for my unique tests. The ease of creating test suites delivers the ability to create various test runs from one suite- I don't have to make edits continuously or go back for any reason. It's a game-changer! Way better than using Google Sheets- thank you.

**What do you dislike about TestRail?**

I've got a lot of test suites! Sometimes it can be tedious to go through them all to find the one I need, but they are all right in one place! And while it's easy to copy over test cases into new suites, the variability between the tests I run is high, so I can't copy over too much- but I think that's more of a me problem than it is something bad about TestRail. I'll figure out a better method!

**What problems is TestRail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have greater visibility on failed tests and can track bugs here- that is something we haven't been able to do well with Google Sheets. It's so much more readable too, here in TestRail- we can share test results in a way that makes sense to everyone on the broader team without having to explain much!
