Most institutions already collect enough information about their students to answer the questions that matter - which topics a batch keeps failing, which class has drifted below the rest, which questions are teaching and which are just hard. Almost none of them can reach it. Results sit in separate spreadsheets, paper tests never land in the same record as online ones, and a final mark says a student did badly without saying why. Teemly closes that gap, from the question bank through to the report. A QUESTION LIBRARY THE INSTITUTION OWNS Questions live in one shared library rather than in individual teachers' files. Each carries its subject, topic, difficulty and curriculum tags, and coding questions carry their languages, sample and hidden test cases, and input/output mode alongside them. Every question shows where it has been used and how it has performed, so a teacher building a paper can see at a glance which questions are unused, which are reliable, and which a batch has consistently failed. Because questions are tagged once and reused, the same tags drive reporting later. Topic-level reporting is a by-product of how the bank is organised rather than a separate exercise someone has to maintain. BUILDING AND SENDING A TEST Assemble a paper from the library with coding, multiple-choice and written questions together, set marks per question, and publish it to a whole class or to selected students - for make-ups, remedial work or targeted practice. Schedule when it opens and when it closes, set duration and attempt rules, shuffle questions, and apply negative marking or partial credit where the assessment calls for it. Times follow the institution's own timezone, whichever device they were set from. RUNNING TESTS ONLINE Students write, run and debug real code in the browser, against sample cases they can see and hidden cases they cannot. There is nothing to install. Print a question paper and its matching answer key directly from the same bank, conduct the test as usual, and enter the marks afterwards. They land in the same student record as online results, against the same class, subject and term. Absences are kept distinct from scores of zero, and unfinished grading stays out of standings until it is finished, so an average always says what it is based on. GRADING Objective and coding answers are evaluated automatically against their test cases. Written answers move into a grading queue rather than a teacher's inbox, so a paper with several markers can be tracked to completion instead of chased. Regrades correct the record rather than inflating it. REPORTING - THE REASON THE REST EXISTS Performance breaks down by class, subject, topic and question type, across assessments and across terms. An institution can see its overall average and which classes sit above or below it, which topics are weakest, which questions a batch keeps getting wrong across every paper they have appeared in, who has not attempted yet, and what is still awaiting grading. The reports open on what needs attention rather than on a wall of numbers: integrity events to review, responses still to grade, learners who have not attempted, classes and subjects running below target - each with the action that clears it. Reports export, and on higher plans they can be scheduled to department heads automatically. ADMINISTRATION Import students in bulk rather than one at a time. Organise them into classes, sections or batches, map teachers to what they teach, and give administrators, teachers and students their own views of the same data. Teemly runs multiple institutions independently, so a group or chain keeps each one's records separate while an owner sees across them. BUILT FOR TEACHING, NOT HIRING Coding assessment tools are mostly built to screen candidates for a job. They answer one question well: should we advance this person? An institution needs a different one: what does this student not understand yet, and what should happen in the next class? That difference runs through the product. Results attach to a student across a term rather than to a one-off attempt, reporting is organised by topic and cohort rather than by candidate ranking, and paper assessments are supported rather than migrated away from.
