Tave brings control to chaos **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Jeff Allen K. | Photographer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2021 **What do you like best about Tave?** The ability to quickly look at financial metrics on your dashboard comparing month over month and year over year is a great help when planning and also a great motivator to keep pushing your business to achieve more. **What do you dislike about Tave?** I would like to see even great reporting and anaylitics brought into Tave. Also, I don't see any way to download (offload) all of the data that's brought into Tave. There should be some way to back all of that information up for our own safe keeping and assess if needed outside of the platform historically. While not a dislike per see, I would like to see more modules created for the main screen. I can't even say I know what they should be at the moment but that area has been a bit stagnet over time. Interaction with quickbooks or some other manner of actual accounting system would be nice or if Tave would BECOME that item as well it would be useful. **Recommendations to others considering Tave:** I have tried (I think) every other competitor to Tave and I have always come back to Tave for it's completeness and ability to handle the needs of a working photographer. Too many options out there seem to be more worried about being cute then being useful. if you're ready to take your business management to the next and final level - Tave is what you want to use. **What problems is Tave solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to send out questionairs make many tasks much simpler and the ability for clients to update them in real-time is also useful. The addition of having integrated gallery information has been useful although I would like to see greater integration if possible. ### 2. When I started using Shootproof, which is a sister company to Tave, they offered me a discount and I decided to give Tave a try and I don't regret it. It has helped me manage my business and optimize my time. It is a powerful CRM. It comes with various templates Contracts, Email Templates, Payment Schedules, Packages, Products & Services, Product Types, Questionnaires, Quotes and Workflow. **What do you dislike about Tave?** I would like it to have more templates and the option to modify my contact form. And I would also add more integrations. **Recommendations to others considering Tave:** Imagine being able to manage your clients, questionnaires, contracts, payments, CRM and much more in one place! Well, do not imagine it because with Tave you have all that and more! **What problems is Tave solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before, I managed my clients without having a work flow, I didn't have the contacts saved and I forgot many things. Then with Tave I learned to handle everything in a more efficient way. Now I have all my clients in Tave, I can send them emails and offers. ### 3. It also makes doing business as a photographer very easy because quotes & contracts are all online. **What do you dislike about Tave?** 1) Tave doesn't have an app and I have to use safari on my Iphone almost daily to take care of quotes, contracts, and receipts on the go. 2) I don't like the presentation of the contact form as it integrates with my Squarespace site. 3) I also don't like that they haven't figured out a way to incorporate photo uploading in the contact form. These are minor complaints though. **Recommendations to others considering Tave:** As a wedding photographer Tave is a life saver and an integral part of keeping my business going. When you consider all the benefits of Tave, it's invaluable. **What problems is Tave solving and how is that benefiting you?** Contracts are signed by the client electronically so there is no need to fax and print a paper contract. Tave also warns you of double bookings which is important. I love how you can tell when a client has received and opened a quote and how many times they have viewed it. This gives me more insight to what is going on with clients during the booking stage. ### 4. You can put as much or as little work into setting things up as you like and still have an amazing experience using the platform. I came for the Gmail integrations and stayed for literally everything else. **What do you dislike about Tave?** It's a catch22 - the immense about of functionality is amazing but also intimidating and the interface can sometimes feel like "coding". I find myself having to test, preview, and double test things sometimes just to make sure I have done it correctly before my client experiences anything. I love a good puzzle, but I can see how someone with less time, or patience would be turned off by the initial learning curve. **What problems is Tave solving and how is that benefiting you?** Organization, automation and keeping all of the info for each of my clients together. I also feel like the reports and financials are keeping me way more aware of my bookkeeping. ### 5. I love the automatic emails you can setup along with tasks. There are so meany things to list that helps keep on top of your customers I truly couldn’t list them all. **What do you dislike about Tave?** At present you can not separate the VAT out when inputting your expenses, you can when creating invoices just not on expenses. As I’m in the UK and VAT registered this is a must to see what I can flame back from the VAT and what I owe. Hopefully they will improve this on an update. **What problems is Tave solving and how is that benefiting you?** Getting payed faster from clients and increased sales with the quote feature. ### 6. When I discovered tave and companys like it I did my home work and picked the right product and it was tave hands down. You won't be disappointed...Setup is a bit of a learning curve, give yourself time in the off season, use tech help, they response pretty quickly when you're new. Very happy. I researched every other product similar to Tave out there and it was not even a contest for wedding photography. **What problems is Tave solving and how is that benefiting you?** time savings big time. Not having to retype emails that are sent to nearly everyone...plus during holidays where I have promotions I send same email to all...setting meetings auto updates calendar sends reminder email...etc. so nice. ### 9. From start to finish is my great helper in organizing everything for me like from the very beginning of just inquiry to the very end of the successful event. The platform consists of features like booking, Communications email payments and many other just a lifesaver for me. **What do you dislike about Tave?** The updates of the software are not released very often, which sometimes creates problems because more advanced features are required for more complex tasks. It would be great if more options were introduced to customize my plans even further. While choosing the event decorations I would love to have a video call with my client to get his or her opinion regarding what they want in their event. **Recommendations to others considering Tave:** I just love how the task tokens are arranged in a manner where you can easily select and set whatever you want to do that day first. It is so smart that it even incorporates the weather conditions and the location limitations for particular days and locations near or before the event. **What problems is Tave solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tave provides you with several wonderful features, it is up to your smart mind how you would like to use those features to your benefit in your good outcome and results. ### 10. I would like to see more options to customize my work even further. We can easily do everything at one place because it grants us so many features and can be used for different purposes. I can easily store documents on it. **What do you dislike about Tave?** It is very time confusing and frustrating for setting up for the first time. Many people leave it just because of it time consuming set up. It needs a large learning curve for the first time for novice users. It needs a lot of customization while setting up.
