SwiftStack powers enterprise customers with a durable, massively scalable, software defined object storage platform that seamlessly integrates with existing IT infrastructure and manages any standard hardware across multi-geographic data centers.

Learning curve and access management strategies

**What problems is SwiftStack Object Storage System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Software-defined object storage solutions are compatible with commodity server hardware — they even use the same solid-state and spinning disks as those legacy systems we are used to. This way, you can avoid replacing everything you’ve used when going the object storage direction. With the right file system gateway solution, you can even integrate object-stored data with file-based applications.

**What do you like best about SwiftStack Object Storage System?**

High performance, low data protection overhead, open hardware, open source core, enterprise and community support. Bi-modal compatibility between Swift and S3 APIs is another HUGE one.

**What do you dislike about SwiftStack Object Storage System?**

Relatively low erasure coded rebalance throughput when compread to replicated-data rebalance. ProxyFS is behind schedule.

**What problems is SwiftStack Object Storage System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The SwiftStack team is extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. From the initial PoC (which we did in a small VM) to the at-scale 2.5PB PoC, they were with us every step of the way to make sure the system achieved our lofty performance (1GB/sec/node) and data protection (20% overhead) goals.
