I’ve had a very positive experience with SUSE because it’s a highly robust operating system.
Its stability, reliability, and enterprise-grade capabilities, make it an excellent choice for organizations that need a solid platform.
In addition, the support is very professional and efficient whenever it’s needed. I know that SUSE has recently improved its support service through the SCC portal, which makes the overall experience even stronger and more reliable.
Currently, SUSE 15 SP7 offers a very high LTS (Long-Term Support), which greatly simplifies the server lifecycle in terms of updates, allowing organizations to stay up-to-date without having to perform major release upgrades. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I had occasionally encountered situations where a package from the official repositories (PHP, for example) was behind the latest active version. Although these packages were maintained with security updates, I had to keep an application running without being able to upgrade to the latest version due to the repository limitations.
Earlier versions had a short lifecycle, but this has been resolved with SUSE 15 SP7, which now offers a much longer Long-Term Support (LTS), simplifying server maintenance and updates Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
