## About Superwhisper
Superwhisper is voice-to-text dictation for Mac, Windows, and iOS. Speak into any app and it types polished text at up to 150 words per minute. An AI layer turns raw speech into clean emails, working code, meeting notes, or whatever format you've configured. Why people love Superwhisper: 1. Works in any app Text appears wherever your cursor is, no integrations needed. Email, Slack, your IDE, your CRM, a Google Doc, the terminal. 2. Custom prompt modes Configure email mode, code mode, meeting mode, or write your own. Speech gets formatted automatically. 3. Offline or cloud. Run on-device with local models for full privacy, or use cloud models for top accuracy. 4. Bring your own AI keys. Connect OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Grok and use the strongest models available. 5. 100+ languages. Translate any language to English on the fly. Why teams choose Superwhisper: People think faster than they write, and dictation closes the gap, but only if the output is usable without cleanup. Superwhisper's AI post-processing turns rambling speech into the message, document, or code block you actually meant. Offline mode keeps sensitive data on the device. BYOK means you're never stuck with default models. SOC 2 Type II and a HIPAA-ready DPA cover the compliance side.

## Superwhisper Reviews
 ### 1. Our voice-first input method for an AI-driven workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerald H. | Geschäftsführer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Superwhisper?**

What we appreciate most about SuperWhisper is how seamlessly it fits into our AI-first way of working. As a company, we are deliberately shifting away from typing toward speaking as our primary way of interacting with our tools — and SuperWhisper has become the central piece that makes this shift actually work in everyday operations.

The biggest upside for us is the speed and quality of voice input across our entire stack. We work heavily with Claude and Claude Code, often through the CLI, and dictating prompts via SuperWhisper is a game changer: we can convey far more context in a fraction of the time it would take to type, which directly translates into better AI outputs. The same applies to Notion (including its AI features), Microsoft Teams messages, Outlook emails, and basically any text field on the Mac — one shortcut, speak, done.

A second area where SuperWhisper genuinely shines is transcription. We regularly use it to transcribe webinar recordings that are only available as video, our own webinar captures, and even classic dictaphone recordings from meetings. For daily voice input we rely company-wide on the Ultra model (cloud), and for transcriptions with speaker recognition we use Nova 3 — both deliver consistently strong recognition quality for German, which was a key requirement for us.

As a German company, data protection is a particularly important topic for us: as long as GDPR-compliant operation of the cloud models is ensured via DPA and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) between the EU/Germany and the US, we deliberately use the cloud variants because they put significantly less load on our RAM and noticeably improve everyday efficiency (for example, running them in parallel with Teams screen sharing). At the same time, it is highly valuable for us to have a fully on-device fallback available at any time with the local Parakeet models — in Germany, data protection has to be considered more rigorously than in many other countries, and exactly this optionality gives us peace of mind.

What ultimately convinced us to choose SuperWhisper over alternatives was the combination of excellent multilingual recognition, system-wide availability, the freedom to choose between cloud and local models, and the roadmap toward team dictionaries — something we are very much looking forward to in order to standardize domain-specific vocabulary across our team. The Enterprise licensing also made onboarding our colleagues very straightforward.

In short: SuperWhisper has replaced the keyboard as our default input method and has noticeably increased both the efficiency and the quality of how we communicate with our AI tools.

**What do you dislike about Superwhisper?**

Honestly, it is not easy for us to come up with real points of criticism here. The only area where we would have wished for a simpler process was the onboarding of our colleagues onto our Enterprise license.

We are a team of around ten people, and it would have been much more convenient for us if, as admins, we could have simply created the license keys ourselves and passed them on to our colleagues. As an alternative, we would have liked to be able to add colleagues directly through the admin dashboard with a simple invitation as regular users (i.e. not as admins). The way we understood it, we could initially only invite administrators through the admin dashboard, and then had to manually downgrade them from "Admin" to "Member" afterwards. It worked in the end, but it caused extra steps. It is also possible that we simply missed the intended path — but a more clearly described or easier-to-find invitation option for regular team members would noticeably simplify onboarding.

Beyond that, the only other thing on our wish list — a shared team vocabulary where we can maintain proper nouns and domain-specific terms across the whole company — is already on the roadmap as far as we know. So we do not count that as a dislike, but rather as the feature we are most looking forward to.

Apart from that, we have not noticed any meaningful weaknesses in daily use so far.

**What problems is Superwhisper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SuperWhisper is solving two main problems for us:

First, the speed and context problem in our daily work with AI tools. Before SuperWhisper, we used to type our prompts for Claude and Claude Code (often via the command line) as well as longer texts in Notion, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook. This not only cost us time, it also led us to write shorter, less detailed inputs simply because typing them out would have taken too long. With SuperWhisper, we now just speak our prompts and messages. It is significantly faster, and more importantly, we give the AI much more context, which directly leads to better results. Across a full working day, this adds up noticeably — not just in time saved, but also in the quality of our AI outputs.

Second, the transcription problem. We regularly receive webinar recordings that are only available as video, we record our own webinars, and we still use classic dictaphones for some meetings. In the past, this content was only of limited use for research, reuse, or documentation. With SuperWhisper, we transcribe these recordings quickly and at very high quality — for everyday voice input we rely on the Ultra model (cloud), and for recordings with multiple speakers we use Nova 3 with speaker recognition. As a result, audio and video content has finally become searchable, reusable knowledge for us.

The concrete benefits for our team: we work measurably faster, communicate better with our AI tools, save a lot of time when processing recordings, and can consistently shift our way of working from "typing" to "speaking" — which actively supports our broader goal of becoming an AI-first organization. At the same time, having the choice between cloud and local models gives us the confidence that we can handle data protection cleanly within the German and European context.

 ### 2. Voice to Text Transition Made Easy, Yet Needs Better Formatting

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Superwhisper?**

I really like that SuperWhisper is available for free at the start. The fourteen-day trial to try out the premium models is a great feature too. Even with just the basic and free version, I'm able to get most of my work done, which is a standout feature. I also find the initial setup to be very simple and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Superwhisper?**

SuperWhisper currently lags a lot in formatting when it comes to speaking. There's no formatting at all; it's plain and simple. So there's a lack of commas, bullet points, and it doesn't paraphrase or autocorrect spellings or words. It also doesn't learn from past speeches.

**What problems is Superwhisper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SuperWhisper to quickly transcribe my spoken thoughts, as it's faster than typing when ideas come to mind.

 ### 3. Easy Setup and a Beautiful Interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Superwhisper?**

Easy to set up. The onboarding steps immediately gave me steps on how to set up the dictation flow. Beautiful interface — easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Superwhisper?**

No real issues. It is gated after a while but it makes sense.

**What problems is Superwhisper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like dictating more than writing. It has really helped me jot down thoughts in the middle of meetings and as a todo at the end of the day fast.
