What I like most about Subsplash is that it brings many essential church management and digital ministry tools together in one integrated platform. Having worked with multiple church management software systems (Shelby, Fellowship One, Church Community Builder, Ministry Brands, Planning Center, and Shepherd's Staff), I believe Subsplash offers the strongest all-in-one solution—especially for giving management, website and app integration, livestreaming, and TV apps.
The Giving module has been particularly valuable, and the ability to connect our website, app, and livestreaming has helped Faith Lutheran extend its ministry beyond Sunday mornings. Before Subsplash, we were juggling multiple software platforms, separate logins, and disconnected systems, which made communication, reporting, and day-to-day administration more cumbersome than it needed to be. Bringing these tools together in one place has been one of the best technology decisions we’ve made for our church.
I also appreciate that Subsplash continues to evolve. Newer features like Workflows and AI integration have the potential to improve automation, data management, and overall efficiency. While there are still areas I’d like to see improved, I value the convenience of having so many ministry tools under one roof and the ability to keep growing with the platform over time. My biggest frustrations with Subsplash are the learning curve and the overall usability of the administrative backend, especially when it comes to the database, people management, and worship planning tools. Having worked with Planning Center, I found its people management and worship planning workflows more intuitive and easier to navigate. The transition from Fluro to Subsplash has also been challenging, and I would really like to see a cleaner, more user-friendly database for tracking members and keeping information accurate and up to date.
I also wish Subsplash offered a simpler, SignUpGenius-style volunteer sign-up option for Sunday morning worship and other ministry opportunities. Right now, we rely on a physical clipboard for sign-ups and then manually enter that information into Subsplash, which creates extra administrative work. A more streamlined, self-service sign-up system that integrates directly with scheduling and people management would be a significant improvement.
Finally, the platform’s complexity makes it time-consuming to train additional staff and administrators. While I still believe Subsplash is the best all-in-one church management platform I’ve used, I’d like to see the administrative tools become more intuitive, efficient, and easier for an entire team to manage day to day.
