"We got it for the app, but use it for everything!"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Subsplash?

We first got Subsplash just because there was a good app option. We already had a website that we liked. Then we discovered that Subsplash had a much better website option than we were using (and we were paying a lot more!) We switched over quite painlessly and haven't looked back at all.

We love how the Events page on our site is integrated! It automatically removes past events, making me look better at web maintenance than I am. :) It also links to the events in the app, making me not have to double-enter everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Subsplash?

Today I was mildly inconvenienced by having to create an event twice to get it on the youth calendar and the church's main events calendar. It would be nice to copy it to the other calendar. It makes sense to have a separate youth calendar for their day to day events, but the main ones always need to be on both and that means a lot of copying and pasting to duplicate everything.

We love how the Events page on our site is integrated though! It automatically removes past events, making me look better at web maintenance than I am. :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Subsplash solving and how is that benefiting you?

Subsplash provides our main website for the church, app, and helping us keep our events up to date with all the automation. It also has very good presets that we could set up to keep all of our pages looking excellent and uniform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lots of room for improvement"

2.5/5

What do you like best about Subsplash?

Message video archive is pretty nice - we've been using it for about 6 years or so. I like that it can be embedded on our site and that users can search for key topics/passages, etc. Could use more functionality though - more flexible embed options.

We're also using their Mobile App tool. Some of the features on there are nice - embedding the iCal feed, and utilizing their own message archive.

Haven't gotten to preview their streaming service yet - our tech guy is setting all of that up this week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Subsplash?

I see lots of room for improvement.

Connection to the dashboard is often very slow and the dashboard site has been down enough in the last year that it doesn't make me sure about their ability to provide consistent service. The dashboard takes a while to come up in general and it's not because our internet connection is slow. I'm not sure what that issue is.

Message video library could use more embed options for those of us who don't use SnapPages.

Mobile App could also use more options for those who don't use SP's giving or SnapPages. We should be able to build app pages vs having to move our webhosting. I'm probably just not aware of my options in this - someone, let me know if I'm thinking of any of this wrongly? I could really use some pointers.

Just launched our mobile app through SP but I am struggling with its lack of functional integrations [we use ACS Realm for giving] and although the subscription price is kinda steep, the options don't seem beefy. I'm very happy with our current website host and mobile site so SnapPages isn't really an option, but I don't want the whole app to kick users out of the app and to our mobile site vs keeping them in the app. Even if our mobile app is extraneous, I don't want it to feel like it is.

I know SP is a company that's goal is to make money, but trying to force each client to pay for all of their services so that the mobile app will be fully functional instead of allowing us to integrate services we already use seems to pigeonhole us instead of allowing SP to reach a broader client base. Is embedding our own services [pages or giving service] through integrations not acceptable because of app guidelines? I probably just don't understand but there aren't clear answers on the help site about this.

With the intense dislike of SP's back end UI that I've developed while putting the mobile app together, I'm not inclined to move our web hosting and so that makes creating a useful mobile app harder to create. I am on this site today cause I'm trying to decide if I should pay for yet another website host service [snappages] so that the app would be more viable and not so extraneous, but I still don't think we should have to adopt SP's giving tool if we already have one that's working fine - one that we cannot/will not be able to get rid of. Maybe the ability to send givers to our giving app would be nice - they could choose whether or not they open the link in the app or the mobile site as a security measure...

I like our mobile site very much and wish there was a way to create an app from that instead of doing it this way. I don't know enough about apps yet to create a workaround but from what I can tell, the only workaround there is for the SP mobile app tool is to purchase more of the SP tools and if all of those are as restrictive as the design options I've found when populating the mobile app... yeah, not leaning in that direction. Leaning more towards finding a company that can help me integrate all of our miscellaneous pieces. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Subsplash solving and how is that benefiting you?

Needed a place to host our video message archive - SP is great at that.

Needed a company that provided a tool that would allow us to develop a mobile app - they had that too.

Our tech guy wanted an easier way to publish weekly videos - sounds like the streaming service will allow him to do so - we'll see. I hope it will. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good, but has issues"

3/5

What do you like best about Subsplash?

We use the mobile app and SnapPages for our website.

Mobile App:

- Very easy to build and maintain

- Good feature set for churches and non-profits

- Giving is very easy to setup Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Subsplash?

- Intergration is really bad. You cannot easily integrate the giving with CMS or QuickBooks (account).

- No integration with email

- SEO is lacking for the website

- The Blog is almost useless, you don't have much control over things (i.e. Author cannot be changed)

- Client Service Managers change frequently

- Very hard to get support, they don't answer emails, and you have to schedule an appointment to talk with someone

- Cost is high - we are looking at going back to a WordPress website and not use SnapPages. We will keep the Mobile App. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Subsplash solving and how is that benefiting you?

- The app is fantastic, and we were able to get live very quickly.

- Giving has been very good from a front end standpoint.

- SnapPages for the website is simple and will meet simple needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Subsplash is a game changer"

5/5

What do you like best about Subsplash?

I like the mobile app the best. The team Subsplash are really friendly, helpful, and very smart. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Subsplash?

I don't like the limitations of customization in the app. For instance, I can't use the Bible tab in the 'more' section. I wish you could take advantage of all of the tools instead of having to pick and limit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Subsplash:

Definitely a good product and a good company to get on board with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Subsplash solving and how is that benefiting you?

Snappages inside the app is really limited with regard to color/font styles. I end up having to do workarounds a lot. All of the platforms that Subsplash acquired haven't quite settled in and made an ecosystem. Also, we're a multi-site church and would like to see some more flexibility and customization for logged in users to choose their campus, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great, quick, and efficient customer service!"

5/5

What do you like best about Subsplash?

The best thing I like about using Subsplash is their commitment to walking with their customers all along the way during the development of applications and websites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Subsplash?

Their prices are a bit steep depending on your church budget restraints. Depending on what type of functionality you want from your church app, the "add-ons" can quickly "add" up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Subsplash solving and how is that benefiting you?

One of the biggest problems that Subsplash has helped us solve is accessing the latest templates in web design. Their platform allows us to choose from many modern and classic templates to build our church website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Subsplash makes creating an app easy!"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Subsplash?

I love how user-friendly the Subsplash platform is. Subsplash has simplified the process of creating an app from the ground up. Once the app is live, the Subsplash platform has many great features to keep your app relevant and up to date without adding a considerable amount to your weekly workload. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Subsplash?

I don't have any significant complaints about Subsplash; it is probably the most valuable platform our church uses to have content available on our audience's devices. One issue we have come up against in the past year is how to make the most out of the app platform when we are not using their congruent website platform. We use Squarespace to design and host our website because of the level of editability and features that Subsplash's website platform cannot provide at this time. Because of that, we cannot fully benefit from the features Subsplash has in its events and media lists that are compatible with both of their platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Subsplash solving and how is that benefiting you?

Subsplash makes creating an app an easy thing to do for any skill level. They also have incredible features that help organize media such as videos and create audio versions of videos accessible to anyone with an apple, amazon, or google device. They have an excellent notification feature that helps you segment your app users into different groups and send notifications to all users or segments. Their events section helps to organize information that is important to users. Subsplash is an excellent tool for any community of faith. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fantastic looking website creator, fantastically awful responsiveness to issues"

3/5

What do you like best about Subsplash?

Subsplash's SnapPages empowers me to create an innovative, attractive website in a reasonably intuitive way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Subsplash?

Unresponsive to ongoing issues I've had to the builder, no undo, glitchy, company seems focused only on their app creator and at times seems dismissive of the wonderful tool they have in their web creator. So much potential for this thing, even with the problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Subsplash:

I'm torn about Subsplash because they have so much potential, and their SnapPages website builder is a wonderful tool. I both love them and get powerfully frustrated with them at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Subsplash solving and how is that benefiting you?

Creating a stand-out website that handles traffic well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Central Hub for content, next steps, & community"

5/5

What do you like best about Subsplash?

Subsplash gave our organization a central hub to house all of our media items, calendar events, signup forms, and produced elements. We are also able to push out push notifications to reach all available users at once with messaging and linked content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Subsplash?

Although the setup of the backend has been thought through immensely, you are really creating the mobile app experience within their folder structure and templated outline. It was a little challenging to imagine how this would really look, feel, and be used when just working in their backend environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Subsplash:

Inside the evangelical church world, Subsplash is no question the leading competitor in creating a platform for churches to push out produced content, media, signups, events, small groups, etc. The interface is built with the user in mind and we have seen more results of engagement than any other product that we have offered out audience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Subsplash solving and how is that benefiting you?

Instead of sending our audience to multiple different places to take a call to action, we have one place. In any arena or situation, our audience knows that the Subsplash mobile is the place to go and find out what's going on. We are tracking the use of the mobile app through Subplash's analytics to measure our ongoing engagement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
