It lets you know when a website goes down and has several options for what would cause the site to be listed as down and many locations from where you can check your websites, so you can verify it is not just a regional outage. The UI is a bit dated, but the reason I switched uptime providers was for faster notification of a website going down and also more options of what could be monitored. While StatusCake will monitor the website uptime and do it well, there are only a few other things that they can monitor. The lack of monitoring options was an issue for me. StatusCake feels a bit dated now. Development seems to have gone stale, and with new products such as StatusPage, while initially good, I've had to move to StatusPage.io.

Recently I have come across a new tool called Statuscake which is rapidly gaining traction for Website uptime monitoring and speed monitoring. It has 48 testing locations in 28 countries of the world. Its easily one of the best tools that I have come across so far for website uptime monitoring.
