These tools help speed up takeoffs while keeping them accurate, and they also make it easier to find and flag crucial information needed for quotes and for after the project is won. I’ve loved how straightforward STACK Takeoff & Estimate has been since our trial, and we now have 15 memberships. The initial setup was simple and went smoothly. **What do you dislike about STACK Takeoff & Estimate?** I honestly don't have any complaints, I like it a lot. The only thing I would like is if there was an app we could use on our phone that had offline capabilities when needed. **What problems is STACK Takeoff & Estimate solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use STACK Takeoff & Estimate for material counts and takeoffs, which allows us to expedite quotes and production paperwork while storing all related information in one easy-to-use, cloud-based space. The built-in tools make it easy for me to complete counts and also highlight or flag important information so other members of our team can quickly view it afterward. ### 2. The various functions are easy to learn & easy to use. I especially like the page that shows you all of the drawing sheets. It allows me to navigate quickly through the sheets I need to work on. I use STACK every day and like it far better than other software I've used. I like that STACK listens to their subscribers suggestions. They've implemented a couple of my suggested tools. **What do you dislike about STACK Takeoff & Estimate?** I'm not very familiar with the estimate function in STACK. I have always used an Excel spreadsheet for my estimate. I find it hard to figure some general condition items like lift rental and travel, per diem & lodging for out of town projects. To me it seems easier to do that portion in my Excel spreadsheet. I would very much like to see the "Multiplier" on the "measure" page to be able to use decimal figures like 2.5 or 3.75. Now we are only allowed to use whole numbers. **What problems is STACK Takeoff & Estimate solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest business problem STACK solves for me is time. I can do my work much faster using STACK. I work for a general contractor during the day and the estimate for my painting company in the evenings, so being both quick and accurate is a big deal to me. Also, the ease of getting a project set up in STACK is much faster & easier than in the previous software I've used. ### 3. That also means it’s accessible for the guys in the field who need to view the takeoffs. I’ve also appreciated how responsive customer support is when I run into issues, and how they take my suggestions on board to help make the app better. **What do you dislike about STACK Takeoff & Estimate?** There are a few things that can be frustrating because it’s still a fairly new platform and doesn’t yet have some of the features other estimating software has. I try my best to submit suggestions through the STACK request a feature when I remember, but I don’t really get any feedback on whether it’s something they plan to implement or not. Some of these include: Copying Cutouts for repetitive items like windows or doors SF, Having the option to organize the project list into folders, Notes section automatically saving instead of having to click save, ability to copy takeoffs from one project to another, ability to hide specific dimension lines, ability to edit description & Title of takeoff from the reports tab, ability to link/hyperlink a set of takeoffs to a specific detail sheet (i.e. If i have a flashing on my window elevation, click on the link and it takes me to the sheet with that detail.). **What problems is STACK Takeoff & Estimate solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's helping to solve the accessibility to all teams throughout the process of construction (Precon, submittals, construction, closeout). ### 4. It would nice if there was a formula type for I-beams since there are many angles, which would quicken the process. I do not use the ai service as it does not help my field. Stack is very responsive . **What do you dislike about STACK Takeoff & Estimate?** When I do big take offs on towers/apartments it does get very slow and lags. It takes a lot longer to complete that job. **What problems is STACK Takeoff & Estimate solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used to manually do the takeoffs by hand, our scale could be off with stack its easier to use the scale. We use to have to count and remember qtys in hundreds. stack counts it for me ### 9.
