It is so difficult being a business owner with employees because you always have to worry about following reporting laws etc, but Square does all of that automatically! Our employees eat for different amounts each week that they want deducted from their pay instead of using their card at the store and we can only set up automatic deductions at a certain amount, so we have to manually deduct each week. Our employees can log in at the beginning of their shift, and clock out when they are done (or go on their breaks), and Square takes all the guesswork out of it. They literally run payroll for you automatically while making sure you are compliant with state and federal laws. Also sends out the new hire forms etc, for you and W-2s around tax time! SO EASY! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Square Payroll? I wish there was a way to set up a one-time subtraction from someone's paycheck. I understand that it might lead to a lot of people doing things they shouldn't, but we allow our employees to "pay" from their paycheck when they eat or drink at work. Most employees prefer this and we have a contract that states they agreed to this, but Square only allows for repeated subtractions. So we have to do the math ourselves and calculate the new amount. Square payroll solves the issue of a taxing third party, and it is also much easier to use than any other payroll app I've ever used before. What I like the best about square payroll is that it automatically files taxes which includes incorporating new hire reports, W-2 forms and federal and state payroll taxes. It gives updates to the payee so they know that their money is on the way. Key features include integrated timecards, employee benefits offerings and direct deposits. It's a well-known company used in stores and companies nationwide, unlike some payroll services that sounds sketchy. Also, by using Square POS system, our employees timecards will automatically sync with the Square Payroll app. That is the biggest benefit I believe by using it. One benefit for our company is that Square files federal and state taxes the company owes for full-time W-2 employee salaries at no added cost! I know our company is in good hands being compliant in everything ranging from New-hire reports sick leave & paid time off tracking, workers comp, new hire-reports and more that Square deals with and we don't have to.
