These seem less connections allow our non SQL experts to select their own tables to start modeling dashboards with. **What do you dislike about Spotfire Analytics?** When you are building new dashboards, any time you want to test a change it will need to reload the dashboard. You need to get good at limiting your changes to smaller test subsets before making it for an entire data set. If not, you will spend a lot of time waiting for the data to load. **What problems is Spotfire Analytics solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the biggest issues pre spotfire is the different business groups where all using different versions in f the truth. Spotfire had allowed us to create dashboards that can be used in high level meetings that everyone can agree is the "truth". ### 2. This tool was made by analytics professionals so the tool does exactly what it is supposed to **What do you dislike about Spotfire Analytics?** it's not very sexy out of the box, but with a litle bit of make up now that css and html you can do astonishing dashboards if you are using the tool for that. If you are looking for insights and answers, then there is no need for makeup. As an analogy, Spotifre is a great cake with great taste but the look and feel might not be for everyone. However, they unleashed the power to the end users to make it look nice. **Recommendations to others considering Spotfire Analytics:** Spotfire is not a tool, it's a platform. I would love see continuations to the interface to for data wrangling that would allow for moving the order of the combination of data joins, and the ability to use wild cards in the selection of columns for different transformations. It handles large data sets easily, without any performance issue, plus it has a very intuitive user interface that helps users to learn how to use it easily. **What do you dislike about Spotfire Analytics?** Although the UI is easy to understand, you can't do everything using the menus. If you want a bit more complex analytics, you have to learn the scripting language of the tool. Creating computed fields should be easier and less time consuming. Fluid and very easy to analyze large data sets. Increases productivity 10 fold. Much better tool to use versus excel. By being able to bring in large amounts of data easily, it has made my life much better and more productive. Easiliy calcualting columns and visualing data. Mapping is so much easier when compared to other softwares. **What do you dislike about Spotfire Analytics?** If there was an easier way to join certain data tables and possibly create fluid relationships. Better accessibility to TERR tools that have been created by the community. If the column functions had some more examples or if Tibco outputted a dashboard with examples of everything that would help as well. Connecting to SQL servers is kind of nonintuitive and a lot of duplicated connections can be made. Also, speeding up the import process of very large excel files would make things a bit better. I've had to migrate data to SQL just because it takes 5 minutes to open the dashboard. Iron python is not the same thing. Python integration as well as incorporating output visuals from python would be a huge item to add. It is easy to understand and the team at TIBCO provides great support for those that may need advice or assistance. The interface TIBCO has allowed me to easily input and monitor student progress comparing them individually as well as a larger group. Spotfire far outweighs Excel in its simplicity and ability to create more intentional and meaningful graphs and charts that are easy to understand. Excel has minimal capabilities of "drilling down" large sets of data and using this program greatly improves presentations, specific targeting for grant writing and feedback to parents, teachers, and administrative staff. **What do you dislike about Spotfire Analytics?** While the interface is fairly simple to navigate, those that do not have advanced skills or knowledge of data organizations/analytics may struggle to find the right way to get the outcome they desire. However with support from the TIBCO staff it can be easily understood and their videos on navigating the software are also helpful. **Recommendations to others considering Spotfire Analytics:** Use the expert staff that are completely familiar with the program to help you navigate the extent of it's capabilities! **What problems is Spotfire Analytics solving and how is that benefiting you?** I utilize TIBCO Spotfire in an educational/clinical setting. The software allows for me to find behavioral trends in my students and the easy to understand graphics support in grant writing. We are currently in the stages of re-integrating it within my new job to help with determining trends in student behavior and using this information to present to school districts on why they should use our mental health clinical school as a primary referral over others.
