## Sourcery Reviews
  ### 1. Much improvement needed and too one-sided

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandra N. | Founder, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Sourcery?**

Sourcery is basically a HARO filter. And, within that narrow field, it does what it should. Namely, filter HARO queries according to keywords, show the DA and other metrics of potential outlets to be pitched. Recently, they added the option to pitch media from within sourcery. If you want to pitch a few selected outlets a year, and be notified of specific keywords that come up in journo requests, this will save you an hour a week going through daily HARO feeds.

**What do you dislike about Sourcery?**

The software is too one-sided and simple, imho. Part of pitching qualitatively is building connections to journalists. These I would still have to research outside the software, so maybe add some information on the reporters, or add some other media outlets (like qwoted) to the feed.

**What problems is Sourcery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We signed up a year ago or so as beta testers- and have only scrolled around the software so far. My company e-mail would be difficult if impossible to connect to sourcery, I prefer to filter HARO feeds myself, and as a writer and SB owner, a purely quantitative approach to PR deters me. Journalists get too many irrelevant requests already. For big businesses who have simple services, can target specific keywords, and just want to get backlinks, this is optimal. For us, it isnt.

  ### 2. Easiest way to earn quality backlinks. Cost effective too!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan P. | Head of Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Sourcery?**

Sourcery is easy to use and as simple as replying to emails. Sourcery provides a framework for progressively getting backlinks by responding to journalists' requests.

**What do you dislike about Sourcery?**

Sometimes the text in the summary field is hard to read but honestly, that is just nitpicking. Overall it's a great product at an affordable price. No complaints here.

**Recommendations to others considering Sourcery:**

Give it a try! Getting results from outreach takes time, so you have to be patient. No app is going to change that.

**What problems is Sourcery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How important it is to have a repeatable process for getting backlinks. Sure, you could do it in your inbox, but you're 100X more productive in an environment dedicated to the task.

  ### 3. Sourcery has great potential but the updates have made it worse

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Writing and Editing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Sourcery?**

It's a very clean user interface and I like the dashboard a lot.

**What do you dislike about Sourcery?**

Sourcery is a great platform, but I feel that every update has made it progressively worse. The filter for DRs has been removed, various extra columns have been added that don't add much value (e.g. difficulty score) but take up space, I still have to Zoom out to see both the DR and the "Explore" buttons at the same time, the Dofollow/Nofollow tags for each domain aren't correct, and the queries aren't uploaded at the same time which means that I can't sort by DR and time. We're also still unable to pitch from the platform itself, so while Sourcery has great potential the updates haven't improved much.

**What problems is Sourcery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pitching to HARO journalists.

  ### 4. Simplified HARO outreach

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donna G. | SEO Editor, Proofreader - Books, Ebooks, Websites, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Sourcery?**

I like how the DR is available. When wanting to create valuable backlinks to your site knowing the DR upfront helps you achieve that goal, faster.

**What do you dislike about Sourcery?**

The time between the HARO newsletter and when Sourcery has been updated. Although not so bad when I discovered quality pitches trump time sent for high-quality publications.

**What problems is Sourcery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving a lot of time. Filtering through HARO newsletters is very time-consuming, especially with three newsletters a day. Sourcery allows me to filter by preference which speeds up that whole process.

  ### 5. The queries are now very slow to load.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Sourcery?**

That the queries are all in one spot, and once they load they are easy to see.

**What do you dislike about Sourcery?**

The queries are very slow to load, so workflow is interrupted, and there is no longer a sort by function for DO follow links

**What problems is Sourcery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wish that we were able to pitch from Sourcery.
