This calls for Solarwinds to work on their UI to make it a little appealing yet friendlier. I haven't used Solarwinds on the cloud and it's an interesting proposition. I definitely would love to explore it, but I will it is tedious to implement on the cloud. **Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds Standard Toolset:** If you need a network monitoring tool, this should be your go-to solution. Yes, it works with the majority of the use cases related to IT asset management solutions as well as Network Monitoring Use Cases. So it is a really good alternative to SNMP monitoring tools with its powerful feature set you get equipped with a lot more technology than we expect. So it is a must have tool for every network engineer and helpdesk support team out there. **What problems is SolarWinds Standard Toolset solving and how is that benefiting you?** We primarily opted for Solar Winds Standard Toolset while we were trying to achieve SNMP monitoring for our networking devices. However, while implementing the product we realized some interesting features and capabilities that could help us solve a lot more challenges that we had with our IT infrastructure. With its features like real-time hardware statistics monitoring and its ability to send events for failure and the most important CPU, Memory and other Resource monitoring was a complete game-changer. ### 3. Most programs still use SNMPv2 and not SNMPv3, even though SNMPv3 has been out for years now. Some of the trouble shooting tools are not updated on a regular basis to add new functionallity. Nor are new troubleshooting tools added to the program. I love using the Workspace studio - SNMP sweep, switch port mapper, traceroute, WMI browser, IP network browser, neighbor map, config transfer, config compare, subnet calculator, telnet/ssh console, CPU and memory interface charts, response time, and the list goes on. You can present any information in a table, graph, or map, along with exporting the information. The other phenomenal aspect about owning a Solarwinds Tool is the support and community behind the tools! I am a member of the Solarwinds Community called THWACK and have been able to manage the suite of Solarwinds products with the advice from the community. The last support ticket I opened for any of my products was in 2016. The documentation behind each and every product will go above and beyond your expectations. I can't think of anything that did not work properly; the problem was in the chair, not in the Toolset! **What problems is SolarWinds Standard Toolset solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset to download configs and then run the config compare against my baseline configuration. Because usually Ping and Trace Route needs to be checked from server end but using Toolset you can actually do it directly from the console of the solarwinds if you have enough license. Solarwinds does their job very well.
