Backups aren't hard, but they are annoying to do right. Using some Tier-1 cloud providers solutions (like RDS) are great because they can do backups easily. But, the trade off as vendor lock-in. The biggest disadvantage is that the free plan only allows us to choose a single component, such as a droplet, snapshot, database, or disc, for backup. If you want to add additional tasks, you must purchase the premium plan, which is somewhat more expensive. For example, having a $10 droplet and paying $29 for backup does not make sense.
