I find most valuable about Sibe is the ability to always work from the released revision of a product. For example, I am currently working on a launch campaign for the Guardian Firewall Appliance GFA-3000. I recently logged into Sibe and downloaded the file GFA-3000-MAIN-ASSY-REV-B.SLDASM (which has been released by our designers). Using Sibe’s integrated viewer, I was able to instantly create isometric and exploded views with a high resolution suitable for our website and datasheets. Additionally, I was able to leave a pinned comment for the engineers (e.g. “can you please take a photo that shows this new port from this angle?”) and they can respond to me there in Sibe. Thus, Misalignment in Marketing and Engineering was eliminated through the use of Sibe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The program is very much designed from an engineer’s perspective and not that of a business user There is quite a steep learning curve. When working with large assemblies and only wanting one sub-assembly like the front bezel for a product shot, locating the correct thing can be difficult. It would be useful if there was a “marketing export” mode with which I can batch export images at preset resolutions and formats, without needing to fiddle with the settings every single time.
