I can't remember why I stopped using them, but when my colleague said his team was using them, and we could collaborate there, I hopped in, and realized this was an answer to so many issues I was having: time management, sharing easily with others, combining a lot of information quickly into one space. By using categories, sections and days, you can easily plan your training sessions. The library is also an invaluable tool to build a set of exercices and training content that you can reuse, for example if you have the same training in different formats. Moreover, you can co-create sessions with other trainers thanks to collaboration features, and the export options ensure you will be able to use the session script in many different ways **What do you dislike about SessionLab?** I started using the tool when it had just started, and although I found limitations at the beginning, the team have been very responsive and supportive, and the tool has been growing at a steady pace and removed the few things that were missing **What problems is SessionLab solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planning training sessions and getting the right balance of sections to keep the trainees involved. What you don't see when doing your powerpoint presentation will be explicit when turned in a session script ### 8. I also love being able to have it calculate the time automatically to know how long the session runs and also having multi-tracks and multi-day sessions. Also, I love being able to categorise activities by colours. Basically, all the features are extremely useful! **What do you dislike about SessionLab?** I wouldn't say I dislike anything, maybe I would add more features like for example being able to change the size of the columns to see side notes or adjust this. **What problems is SessionLab solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm able to organise sessions easier, keep track of session length and re-arrange the blocks if something comes up and I need to switch activities, for example. Also being able to keep everything in a single place. I can't emphasise enough how much this tool is a go-to for me daily. ### 12. SessionLab has been a game-changer for us. We can easily collaborate, use the library to find new ideas, and see the structure of our sessions using the Session Lab tools. Having our session information in one place is critical for our team. Now anyone can pick up a Session Lab course and teach it exactly the way it was envisioned. **What do you dislike about SessionLab?** When we started, we were so excited to use all of the bells and whistles that SessionLab offered that we overdid it a bit and scared our instructors. Too many colors! We've learned what is most effective for our team. **Recommendations to others considering SessionLab:** I had never seen anything like SessionLab. It has streamlined my workflow immensely. I appreciate the library of ideas that I can explore when I'm looking for fresh ideas. It has helped me tighten up my instructional design and made our team collaborations easier. **What problems is SessionLab solving and how is that benefiting you?** One problem SessionLab solved is consistency. Our training materials were in different formats and that led to confusion with different instructors. During the pandemic, it was important for us to have all of our courses outlined in SessionLab for contingency planning. Now anyone can log in to SessionLab and teach any one of our courses. ### 13. Due to it being an online tool, its accessible from everywhere. **What do you dislike about SessionLab?** There is nothing I really dislike about the service. I wish it had a real undo button to go back in time 20 steps. But I know that’s not so easy to achieve on the web. **What problems is SessionLab solving and how is that benefiting you?** For me it solves the problem of collaboration with others on the an agenda/flow at the same time or at different times. It calculates al times and is very useful, if you do similar events over and over. Then you can make use of templates for complete days or single sessions. SessionLab provides a libary of facilitation tool and you can add your own interventions for use in different workshops. When starting, one can look a prepared workshop and also to get inspiration. **What do you dislike about SessionLab?** Additional information can be added in fields hided in side buttons. Especially as a beginner it shows too many option to hold information and that maybe confusing. It would be helpful, if I could tailor some of the template format to my needs. **Recommendations to others considering SessionLab:** Try the free version and see youself. **What problems is SessionLab solving and how is that benefiting you?** I deliver particiative Organisation Design Workshops and Org Design Trainings. During the Org Design workshop I need to adapt to emerging issues and make changes to next sessions. SessionLab supports this changes in a very easy way. ### 15. There are a lot of templates from the community using loom. Are you looking for an icebreaker? A team building exercise? Members from the community post those so you don't need to build them from scratch and you can post yours too and get feedback as people try them out! 2. Blocks! I love the fact that you plan in blocks that you actually get to move around so easily (drag & drop) that re-arranging your time is really, really easy. You can even remove them from the event without deleting them so you can reutilize them if you need them. **What do you dislike about SessionLab?** Not a dislike but it would be great if there was a "Play" function that once pressed would actually start playing the event / scrolling through it. That would give me a great visual on how well I'm doing within each block. **Recommendations to others considering SessionLab:** If you're great at planning but do it using Excel and just wish there was an easier way of doing it (like dragging and dropping without needing to format every cell every single time), this is a tool you need to consider. It will make you faster, and will help you gain a lot of insights on how well you run your meetings, sessions or workshops. **What problems is SessionLab solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ever since I began using it (3 years now I think), planning trainings and workshops has really transformed from something I was not great at and didn't like to do into something I am now passionate about and in consequence I'm becoming better at (based on my customers and users feedback). I use Sessionlab to plan meetings, workshops, even lengthy trainings using different tools and disciplines and it's honestly part of my core toolbox for facilitating and training. ### 19. Also, the collaboration feature is really easy to use and to set permissions but also see who's online and working on the document and when the last edit was. **What do you dislike about SessionLab?** The color coding feature can be a bit annoying visually- I get the concept of it but not sure it is necessary because there is a commenting feature that makes it easy to see what changes have been made. **Recommendations to others considering SessionLab:** Great tool to invest in for collaborating on training, curriculum and design sprints. **What problems is SessionLab solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've used Google Docs, Dropbox Paper for collaborating on curriculum but not as streamlined for large amounts of content and Google Docs tends to take up a lot of browser memory and crashes often.
