When we have called support, we sometimes speak to several people before getting someone that can help. Sometimes, it was a straightforward solution, but the call took a long time because of the multiple transfers. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** We handle our parishioner tracking, including attendance, giving, volunteer team selections, and similar items. These solutions allow us to provide data to team leaders and the parishioners themselves. We are also able to print membership directories, which is very helpful. ### 4. As a temp in the past, I've been a part database overhauls in the past that took weeks to complete. This experience was awesome, I was able to format, map and import in less than two days and with white glove service, someone is with you every step of the way! I really like the staff, everyone is very friendly and wants to help in any way they can. I also like Servant Keeper Notify which allows you to put out emergency alerts, even notifications etc. All of this in one place since this system integrates with your regular SK records! **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** The mobile app could have a bit more features, but you can access the account through you're phone's browser and access the features I'm thinking of-- looking at a member's attributes to see who is in the choir, for example. Can't do it on the app, but I can do so on the website no problem, so it's really no issue. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** Able to keep members, family connections, attendance, the youth ministry and all activity in one place versus we used to have two databases that we'd have to reconcile later. Also being able to send texts to members right from the app is great. In our old system, I would have to look up the number and then copy it and go and start a new text message and then paste the number there. With servant keeper you just touch the cell phone icon and it starts the text for you, same thing for an email, just click the icon. ### 5. We like being able to track all of our contact information with basically any additional fields we want to use. We also use it for our financial information. We like that it ties to Quickbooks and to Vanco. **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** Reports are impossible to customize and not all the ones we want are included. Trying to track pledges is near impossible - we are a small church and I have had to create my own spreadsheets to get the information I need which is downright ridiculous. Servant Keeper gets confused with prior year givings towards pledges and doesn't always recognize a fulfilled pledge on a contribution statement (always a source of consternation from our members). Tie to Quickbooks does not include the memo field - which is very important to us. **Recommendations to others considering Servant Keeper:** I would make sure you can get all the reports that you will be using. Don't assume that they have everything you need. Keep the tech support though at least the first year. The product is easy to use, but there is a lot of gloss on essentially a still clunky product in my opinion. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** In order to move to SK we have had to clean up our existing database and member files. So we have done a lot of house cleaning. However, SK has not solved any problems, but has created some new ones. ### 6. As it competes with bigger companies like Planning center it has the advantage of being cost effective as a package rather than subscription. **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** Servant keeper is not always as customizable as needed. It doesn't have the connection pieces that help with overall tracking for your organization. It also does not have a great user friendly interface for outside of administration. The screen size for check in is inconsistent. **Recommendations to others considering Servant Keeper:** Make sure you know what features you are looking for and look through the program fully first. There are some things that aren't customizable and there are a lot of features that other products offer so you may be able to cover more than one need with this product. They can offer personalized advice and expertise, but it does come with an additional Help desk cost. If you are looking for something to use long term without upgrades this is a great program. If you re using it for the check in features make sure you have the devices and supplies to really optimize the product. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** The one cost for the all services is wonderful. It has a check in system for CHildren's Ministry, directory for church managements, mobile apps for mobile ministry, privacy settings to make sure your notes on families for individuals stay private, and giving statements. ### 7. Although they do connect too. We also have our Children's Check-in also connected to this database. **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** Honestly, I can't think of anything that I don't like about using Servant Keeper. **Recommendations to others considering Servant Keeper:** Servant Keeper also has an online cloud version which now opens up a lot more capability and ability for the user and also our members. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** We maintain our church member database within Servant keeper and it is also tied to the contributions. We can run reports, put detailed information for each person and customize the fields. ### 8. We aren’t a huge church and it has more features than we need. What we do use works well. **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** It took us awhile to learn to use it. What is simple now was difficult at the beginning. It only searches by last name, and sometimes we only remember the first name. **Recommendations to others considering Servant Keeper:** Give it a chance! It seems complicated at first, but as you customize it and get familiar with how it works, it becomes indispensable. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** It works great for mailing lists. We can customize fields to keep track of what is important to us. It makes end of year tax statements a breeze. We are always discovering new capabilities. The longer we use it, the easier it gets. ### 9. We utilize this program to track all attendees, visitors and attendance reports. **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** I attempted to create an updated directory report and I found it difficult to change due to programming. **Recommendations to others considering Servant Keeper:** Very easy to implement. You will have the information you need for reporting purposes. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** No business problems. We take the security of our children very seriously and with this program and the labels that are generated and given to each child, specific people with a receipt can only pick up their child. The labels also list any allergies or specific medical information given by the parents. ### 10. We really like the ability to make notes on families or individuals, and use this feature frequently to write a note for specific contacts - including notes that will only be seen by the person making the note or their designated people - this is great for counseling, important events, and the like. **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** Some aspects of the software are quite 'clunky' to navigate and at times the software seems to lose details - an essential feature of the product! For example, we may enter our attendance, but then not find a family in the 'attended' column. In the past, we have had a week worth of giving simply disappear - causing issues with our end-of-year giving statements. **Recommendations to others considering Servant Keeper:** This is more difficult; but be prepared. Purchase the tech support as this company charges extra for that service. Always get the cloud solution! **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use SK to help us track our membership from first-time guests to long-time members. We track attendance, important events (like a serious accident or death of a loved one), giving, and talents in our software. This saves us time and effort and allows us to have a comprehensive plan for keeping up with our congregation. Overall, there are many great features and when we recently began looking at switching to another provider, we felt that sticking with Servant Keeper was the best option. ### 12. You can add guest while working with the donation side and they will be available on the church management side. No double entry needed. ### 14. It allows the user to input as much or as little information for each member entry. The program can be installed and then moved to network storage and operated from there. All of the files necessary to run are in the main folder. Because of that, it can be moved anywhere, once it is installed into its folder. **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** Multiple .exe files for different features. One for membership, one for contributions, one for users. Should be one program file. **Recommendations to others considering Servant Keeper:** Give a look. Compare apples to apples with other packages. Even if it is good, compare upgrade costs over the long term. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** Problems solved are membership and contribution management. ### 15. However, compared to other church database software, it seemed to be the most user friendly in looking up general contact information. It’s fairly easy to do a quick lookup. Login is also fairly simple. **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** There is a lot I didn’t enjoy. First, it is not user friendly MAC systems. It is not easy to create and generate new reports. Mail merges were also difficult unless you were very familiar with the process. It was quite glitchy. **Recommendations to others considering Servant Keeper:** It’s exstensive in it’s offerings, but there are much more user friendly programs that have what you need. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mail merges, database record keeping, reports, etc. Not many benefits - it’s outdated in comparison to simple, easy I like programs like Planning Center. ### 16. Various jobs we would have needed to do separately before can all be done in one program now. **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** The cloud hosting can be slow and if itnloses connection to the server, you may have to close out and reopen the program. Information on how to use different features and functions can be a bit tough to find. **Recommendations to others considering Servant Keeper:** The instruction books are very helpful for figuring out the ropes. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows us to manage contributions, track attendance, and check in children. I like it that it keeps all my information up to date. It is easy to use. I use the desktop software. It is easy to transfer files using CSV spreadsheets. I can send statements by mail or email. I updates regularly without any problems. I also like that I don't have to pay a monthly fee for using it. **What do you dislike about Servant Keeper?** What I don't like about this software is that it is only on my desktop. Sometimes when it updates, some things don't update. For example, when I go to print a document, I have to go to Program Files to fix the problem. **Recommendations to others considering Servant Keeper:** I would suggest that if the congregation is small, get the desktop. I am the only one that work with it. If there are more people involved, then the online version might work better. **What problems is Servant Keeper solving and how is that benefiting you?** I for example have online information that I need to input in Servant Keeper and I can't because it is not the same software. I created a CSV spreadsheet. I transfer the online data to this spreadsheet and then I import the information. The benefit of creating this spreadsheet is that I don't have to own the Servant Keeper online to do this. Simple. ### 20.
