Being able to keep access to all my network devices from 1 location is extremely helpful. It allows me to setup up how I want to connect to each of them, what users I want to use, and group them by location and what they are. You can even secure the software to where if someone has access to your computer for some reason, they cannot see your devices as it is encrypted. **What do you dislike about SecureCRT?** It is licensed per user, and to upgrade it. You possibly need a newer license to use it. Outside of that, there are not many dislikes of this product what so ever and it works like a champion. **Recommendations to others considering SecureCRT:** If you are looking for a way to log into all your network devices under one location, this one is it. You can easily add them here and quickly access them with ease. If you are looking for a thriving build product, this one is sure. **What problems is SecureCRT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Allows me to see all my network devices and can share them with coworkers easily if they have the software installed as well. It also helps out where I do not need to know every IP address of each device, and I can use any protocol I would like to access. Also, it's one piece of software for all instead of using another tool to access each device one at a time. This also is useful to see two or more devices at the same time to verify configuration if need be for new and older devices. ### 7. When dealing with 20+ devices things that take 3 minutes to set up in SecureCRT can take hours in other tools. **What do you dislike about SecureCRT?** It is not intuitive unless you have a background in engineering or computer science and you have to remember your binds or show the popup to remember them. Unless you are an engineer and work with servers or networks for a living paying the price is just not justified and that is perfectly ok but that also means that you need to learn all features until you buy the license because there is not a free version out there. **Recommendations to others considering SecureCRT:** If you spend your day to day connecting to servers or network devices buying the license for SecureCRT pays itself very quickly **What problems is SecureCRT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Connecting to remote devices is just quicker and more reliable with SecureCRT and time is money. ### 13. As sessions get saved in the session manager and you can have several sessions ready to go with one click and have everything logged in different files with minimal effort. **What do you dislike about SecureCRT?** The software is really amazing but the license cost is a bit high, I don't mind at all since I already have it and my employer is happy that we use tools to work faster and more efficient but I can't say the same for other companies that are our clients, it is a small cost but still is high enough that it requires an explanation in the expense report or just avoid dealing with that and use a free alternative. **Recommendations to others considering SecureCRT:** It has an included TFTP, I have been using it for ages now and just discovered it a few months ago, it's a really cool feature that is a bit hidden **What problems is SecureCRT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Connecting to network devices that need some kind of attention, meaning upgrades, troubleshooting, or just regular maintenance. ### 15. It's just great to have templates that can save minutes or even hours when connecting to a network. It is especially useful for diagnosing and debugging. **What do you dislike about SecureCRT?** It is great 98% of the time but sometimes some issues happen with characters on the UTF-8 range, for some reason even when set on that char range the chars can get garbled. Another feature I love is script recording, think it really good one time, record it once, let the computer do the hard work many times. SecureCRT represents the leader of terminal emulators, and the features I appreciate the most, besides its stability and speed, are those related to split mode, session and command history saving, customization with more or less complex shortcuts and hotkeys (including macros), and the ability to keep sessions alive in the background through automatic keepalives, which are useful, for example, to prevent the stop of a download or a repeated command over time due to session drops. **What do you dislike about SecureCRT?** I do not like the currently available themes, only 4 and they seem to be from the years 2003-2005 when Windows XP was the only operating system for Desktop PCs. This program has given me so many benefits that Putty could not give me, it has a lot of options and customizations that can generate confusion and not knowing where to start, however, do not fear that only with installing and clicking on the beam, it opens the option of making the remote connection. After acquiring the license of the program your installation is intuitive, next, next and next, apply the license and next and accept, after that you already have a ssh client light from my point of view.
