I love Scribd's library and the access it provides. Being subscribed to Scribd automatically gives me access to Everand's collection too, which includes a lot of audiobooks. I love reading or listening to audiobooks, which are usually expensive, but with just one subscription, I get access to so many. It allows me to consume way more books when my subscription is active, even more so than when I have physical books. Having audiobooks is just so much more accessible and enjoyable. Plus, the initial setup of Scribd was super easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It looks a lot messy right now. Since it's split with Everand, Scribd has become kind of this more academic object, and it's hard to find things. The UX is not as seamless and straightforward as it used to be. Also, there aren't always cover photos or titles, which makes it more difficult to search for a book by its author's name. Another thing is the 'available soon' issue where something that was previously available suddenly becomes unavailable towards the end of the subscription month and is only set to return after the subscription renews.
