They offer hardware if required, but the system is also compatible with other setups, such as a SONOS installation. It would be great if Rockbot offered compatibility with additional platforms and hardware, such as the Raspberry Pi. On the billing side, Rockbot continues to promote annual payments, but I would prefer the option of a monthly fee under a contract. It's really a set-it-and-forget-it program. Initially, you spend some time choosing your preferred playlists (or creating your own) and the mixes to play during different times of the day, but after that, it's pretty seamless. Using the dashboard, you can easily skip a song once, delete it from the playlist or ban it from the club entirely. You can also temporarily override what's scheduled at a given time with another playlist. I do find the override feature a bit confusing to use, but because it confuses me, I can't explain HOW it confuses me, because I'm confused, lol. Also, so many of the songs on the "high-energy workout"-type playlists are most definitely not at all high energy. We've had it happen, more than once, that we've set one of these playlists to play during one of our group training sessions and it was literally several songs in a row of soothing, spa-type music! We have used Rockbot for our office music since we built our office a couple years ago. It has been very simple to use, allowing us to select a variety of music that can change throughout the day to provide more engery during that after lunch slump. The automatic "smart volume" helds by increasing volume through the noisey parts of the day as well and lowering the volume towards the end of the day. Without the listener request feature, there is no way to request a specific song. Have to pay more to use that App and allow our employees to request songs. I really appreciate the connectivity this offers, as it allows me to manage everything from anywhere. Scheduling is incredibly straightforward, which makes things so much easier. The playlists are excellent, and I especially like that I can block curse words from being played. Now that importing playlists from Spotify is possible, I think that's a fantastic addition. Although the playlists are shuffled during playback, I’ve noticed that if you select the same playlist each day, you tend to hear the same songs repeatedly. Ease of set up for commercial music. It is also easy for staff to understand how to manage playlists, as the online portal is setup similar to individual music streaming services they already use, like Spotify or Pandora. I like that there is an option for Sonos integration. The price point is competitive. If you purchase a Rockbot player, installation is easy. Sonos integration is less seamless than choosing the Rockbot player option. It does work, but it will time out on Sonos and need to be restarted, sometimes frequently. This may or may not be an issue on the Sonos side. The music stream will randomly stop, sometimes multiple times a day. It is not difficult to re-start the stream, but it does take a human to manually restart the stream. I would not recommend buying Sonos just for Rockbot, buy a Player if you do not already own Sonos equipment. It would be better if you could switch back and forth between the Player and Sonos. Unfortunately, you have to pick one or the other. If you need to change, you have to contact your account manager and have Rockbot make the change on the back end.
