Implementation and setup can also be more involved than a team might expect, especially in a complex SAP landscape like ours (DEV-QUA-STAGING-PT-PROD). **What problems is Rev-Trac solving and how is that benefiting you?** Rev-Trac is solving the problem of managing and controlling changes across our SAP landscape. Without a centralized tool, coordinating transports, approvals, dependencies, testing, and releases can be manual and difficult to track, which increases the risk of errors and failed deployments. The biggest benefit is greater visibility and control. Rev-Trac helps us understand what is changing, where it is moving, what dependencies exist, and whether the appropriate approvals and checks have been completed before deployment. The ability to customize and add in specific request type for security which occurs monthly is useful and speeds up reviews. Sometimes there are multiple security updates from different months and this helps both internal/external communication and tracking. I'm not paying for this. I am just an external administrator who was set up the Rev-Trac central system and Web-Core and work monthly to put through changes. After set up, it feels simple to use and easy to get support for routine security changes that need to be pushed through the SAP landscape. **What do you dislike about Rev-Trac?** There is a initial learning curve which require me to contact support for issues that were not covered in training or had a specific use case. It removed risk associated with overlapping changes, and easily supports project landscapes combined with BAU. **What do you dislike about Rev-Trac?** It does take a few days to configure, and required business buy-in to ensure red tape can be removed, however most of this is supported by onboarding teams at RSC. **What problems is Rev-Trac solving and how is that benefiting you?** We spent a lot of time getting changes approved through manual exchanges like emails, supporting and test documentation wasn't consistently recorded across changes, and there was previously a lot of risk associated with changes being moved out-of-sequence or with competing priorities. ### 6. This allows to have a complete story across the landscape. It is also very flexible, we can customize the SAP servers in a very convenient way and the standard transport route does not need to be available. It automated approvals and packaging dependencies which was not possible in earlier STMS process. It has role-based control and release team can decide which changes can be allowed in which environment. It enhances visibility and audit trail of changes. Parallel development and OOps conflicts/overwrite and overtakes can be caught earlier in the cycle. Customer support is really good. The team jumps on to the request quickly and works with the technical team. Someone new needs time to understand RevTrac. DevOps process using revtrac is not simple still. Integration with automation tools is not easy. No easy way to identify deployment errors before the deployment is done. The change list was all held in a spreadsheet. This soon became unwieldly, and we had multiple instances of changes going into prod out of sequence. We also had little visibility across the business and IT team of which changes were in play, and who was the hold up.

Our internal and external auditors love the tool. These should at least be visible as a much lower class of error or something. It doesn't make logical sense.

It also flags selection screens as missing almost 100% of the time. These just feel like problems we shouldn't have in the year 2025. If Rev-trac could improve the handling of this logic, it would save a lot of time and effort in the future. Integration with ServiceNow Web UI Thanks to the Rev-trac team, the implementation was seamless and also provided enough knowledge transfer that overall we have been able to support the tool and make changes to further adapt it to our growing landscapes. The support model is great, from technical issues to questions about how to accomplish a specific function. **What do you dislike about Rev-Trac?** We originally wanted a feature to skip OOPS checks for TOCs but I believe this is now a feature of more recent releases. **What problems is Rev-Trac solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used to spend a significant amount of time assembling our production release. It is now seamless, takes less than an hour and with the integration with ServiceNow we have a process that it's also compliant with our change management processes. Our major releases have also been significantly improved due to the ability to track all changes and associate them with a specific feature to be deployed. We have also empowered our business analysts and developers to make changes and have the ability to test them in our non-production environments without needing interaction from the technical team on every single transport.
