## Retrium Reviews
  ### 1. Retrium - Retrospect & Reform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shabana K. | Agile Delivery Lead, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

I have been using Retrium for the past one year.
I am Scrum Lead for 4 teams and due to licensing limitations, we have been using Retrium for 2 of my teams belonging to 2 different programs.
Though I had conducted Retrospectives in various other tools, I found Retrium comparatively useful and user friendly for the following reasons.,
1. No Limitation - I can create boards for as many teams as I can if we have license.
2. Customization - Retrium allows me to customize the options I need. As a Scrum Lead, I find customization very useful for my teams.
3. Stages - Retrospectives has various stages along with a stop watch which makes it more interesting.
4. Anonimity - The team members can share their opinion and can still remain anonymous. i.e., It DOESN'T show who is typing what.
5. Action Items - All these years, as a SM, I have captured "What went well" & "What didn't go well" and "Action Items". But we Retrium provides an unique section to highlight the action items.
6. I like the cool colors of the UI.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

1. Action Items - As mentioned above, Retrium has provided a section to highlight the "Action Items". While it is good but its not at its best use. Reason - The action item just sits there within the tool. I would prefer if Retrium enhances this feature and sends out notifications to the tagged team member as a follow up.
2. Adding new Team member - Its sometimes a big fuss adding a new member. I am not sure if they are getting email or not. For this Retrium can CC Scrum Master and Admin so that we are aware that the request has reached the new member and pending with them for acceptance.

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Retrium, I used to retrospect either on Excel or Confluence. It was quite cumbersome and my team members were hesitant to speak up on issues.
They used to compromize with the situation instead of highlighting and fixing it.
With/After Retrium, we have discovered an unique way to gather opinions. Team member can type anything and his writings will be masked/blurred while he is writing. Only after I click on NEXT / if the stop watch stops then the writings are available for reading. Still it doesn't reveal the writer. This makes the purpose of Retrospective efficient.

  ### 2. Great application to analyse and discuss for team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Promod P. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

Retrium comes with great UI. The various features are really helpfull in kepping the track of the action items.
Have been using it to analyse the sprint activity.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

I can not find much drawback for Retrium. But there was a scenario when I was in a team room and wanted to create another. But to do so, had to close the open team room. So, I think this is one thing could be added as a feature or if its available then can be placed better on the screen

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps in performing the team retro. The anonymous feedback and the tab to keep the record of the Action items are really helpful in discussion.

  ### 3. Great retro tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

Super collaborative, keeping feedback anonymous

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

Integration with jira is not der. Scrum masters need to add action items manually

**Recommendations to others considering Retrium:**

Great product to accelerate your operation sdlc

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some loop hole discussion which is difficult to bring every one on same page
Feedback from leadership

  ### 4. Great tool for Retrospectives

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

Offer many different retrospective formats to choose from.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

Wish there was some sort of way to date each group and have a 'quick glance' at each retro scheduled and completed in that group

**Recommendations to others considering Retrium:**

You can add users individually and pay per user so form an MVP group of users to try it out first and see if it meets your needs.

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running our Monday Tactical Meeting.
Running my Friday retrospective with my boss.

  ### 5. Provides an easy and customizable solution to Retros for all

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

I like how quickly you can get a meeting started with Retrium. When my team needs to start a retrospective, we can invite who needs to be there, select our format, and get started. I also really enjoy the available options to pick from when setting up the style of retro I want to conduct. The ability to customize the columns on the go, and how much time for each section is also a really nice feature.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

44 I do wish they allowed you to hand off host privileges when in a meeting. We've had several instances where the host had to leave the meeting early, and we had to continue without the Retrium tools since we couldn't switch the host. 33

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem is how to organize a retro, and to do so in the best manner. Retrium let's our team members make comments with out having their name attached to it, so it helps promote, harder to have, conversations. The benefits are a streamed line retro experience.

  ### 6. The best for digital meetings.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guiying C. | Marketing Positions, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

Retrium is very good, especially because it offers many options, besides it is easy to collect all the comments in one place, and its design is an excellent excellent interface, and it can also be customized, I really love the different retrospectives, everything is more elegant and at the same time fun, I have tried many similar platforms and this is the one that I loved the most.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

Actually there is nothing wrong that I don't like I like everything. But the only thing I could comment on in this section is that I would like your interface to be more modern, since it looks like something old, I should think about innovating.

**Recommendations to others considering Retrium:**

If I recommend it, I could say that the meetings here are very attractive and fun, and they are not boring like other similar platforms, it has a clean and pleasant interface, it is easy to get used to it, it is not necessary to have experience for its use, I recommend it for everyone.

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool is the best, it even comes with a board that allows me to keep my meetings moving, it has been a great help, especially since it is one of the products I have worked with and has worked 100%, it guarantees that each meeting It will be positive and more productive.

  ### 7. Great tool to drive team learning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

Has a lot of different ways to run a retrospective. Very intuitive and provides a good level of anonymity allowing people to speak more freely than in a face to face interaction.

Has good methods for recording takeaways and tasks to be completed.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

Sometimes login/joining rooms can be confusing. Wish it would integrate with a task tool like JIRA or Asana.

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed a good way to run retrospectives. This gives us a good tool to do that.

  ### 8. Awesome for Sprint Restrospective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin R. | Quality Assurance Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

I like how it does not show names under the user's input. People are more willing to add their opinion when they are anonymous.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

Nothing so far. We barely started using it for our sprint meetings.

**Recommendations to others considering Retrium:**

Im not sure how much my company pays for this service but it is very helpful and easy to use.

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It comes with a Kanban board (if you do agile you should be familiar) which allows an easy flow through tasks to keep your meeting moving

  ### 9. Retrium Makes Retrospectives Productive and Fun

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

I like the fact that it is designed to be used remotely and that individuals can post anonymously, allowing freedom to speak even if there isn't full trust on the team. The different formats of retrospectives makes retrospectives more engaging and even fun.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

I'd like to see more features in the future, allowing this tool to be utilized by more departments, not just engineering. I see lots of potential in this product. Adding more resources for retrospectives and agile in general would be awesome- a one-stop shop for all things agile/retrospective.

**Recommendations to others considering Retrium:**

I think this tool has excellent potential to make retrospectives more engaging across many departments, not just engineering.

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool makes our retrospectives more organized, productive, action-oriented, and engaging. Retrium solves the problem of follow-up by having clear action items for those involved in the retrospective. The different formats allow for more engagement. The anonymity option allows all people to participate, which is especially helpful for introverts.

  ### 10. Helpful for Digital Meeting Retrospectives

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

Easy to collect feedback all in one place and perform retrospectives while having people virtually present in meetings.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

Not the most intuitive platform. Took our team a bit to figure out how it works.

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to conduct our retrospectives with team members who are working remotely and also do it with less paper when we are all in person.

  ### 11. Diligent Retrospective Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

Retrium gives you a lot of options to stay devoted to retrospective best practices. It uses timing features to set checkpoints through processes (like Start, Stop, Continue) and ensures you can stay unbiased by having concerns and input raised together before sharing.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

You have to make a lot of clicks to keep moving through the process when you do want to go fast. Prevents shortcuts but that's a trade-off.

**Recommendations to others considering Retrium:**

They offer a full featured trial, give this a try and stick to it for a month earnestly and see the difference in your team's action items coming out

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're looking to stay more consistent about our retrospectives in keeping a history and not 'cheating' the system.

  ### 12. Simple Retro Tool With or Without a PM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Retrium?**

The four Ls category lends itself well to encouraging team members to come up with a spectrum of responses. The time limit helps ensure team members stay on focus and prioritize what they want to say. The voting system really helps the group collectively decide what is most worthy of further discussion.

**What do you dislike about Retrium?**

While I have used this tool both with and without a dedicated product manager, there are some changes that would make the tool more useful for collaboration. The biggest would be changing the group phase to allow all team members to participate in the grouping. Currently one team member has to take charge and try to find all similar topics. For big / verbose teams this is a tall order, and one that is only made harder by having the rest of the team simply watching. Additionally, it would be great to have empty messages and those with only white space removed automatically during the grouping phase! Not sure why, but every retro I have been in has had at least one empty tile!

**Recommendations to others considering Retrium:**

There is a free trial period, give it a shot for a retro or two and see how much it helps! Additionally, use votes to mean "I would like to discuss this topic further" not simply "I agree". Then if there are any topics with no votes, quickly check if anyone would like to say anything and if not, continue! You will save a significant amount of time very quickly! Also, encourage your team to delete the blank cards before the grouping phase as they are useless.

**What problems is Retrium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool is clearly intended to facilitate retrospectives and succeeds thoroughly. The biggest value that I have seen is that it reduces the duration of retro without reducing the quality of the retro. In the words of the best product manager I've worked with, excessive meetings are the bane of productivity! Ensuring every meeting is as productive and streamlined as possible can save a dev day per meeting for large teams!
